تكوين 10

١ 1 هَذَا سِجِلُّ مَوَالِيدِ سَامٍ وَحَامٍ وَيَافَثَ أَبْنَاءِ نُوحٍ، وَمَنْ وُلِدَ لَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ الطُّوفَانِ.

Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah and of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.

٢ 2 أَبْنَاءُ يَافَثَ: جُومَرُ وَمَاجُوجُ وَمَادَايُ وَيَاوَانُ وَتُوبَالُ وَمَاشَكُ وَتِيرَاسُ.

The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

٣ 3 وَأَبْنَاءُ جُومَرَ: أَشْكَنَازُ وَرِيفَاثُ وَتُوجَرْمَةُ.

The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

٤ 4 وَأَبْنَاءُ يَاوَانَ: أَلِيشَةُ وَتَرْشِيشُ وَكِتِّيمُ وَدُودَانِيمُ.

The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.

٥ 5 وَتَفَرَّعَ مِنْ هَؤُلاءِ سُكَّانُ الْجَزَائِرِ وَتَفَرَّقُوا فِي مَنَاطِقِهِمْ حَسَبَ قَبَائِلِهِمْ وَأُمَمِهِمْ، وَلُغَاتِهِمْ.

From these, the coastlands of the nations separated into their territories, every one according to its language, according to their families, in their nations.

٦ 6 وَأَبْنَاءُ حَامٍ: كُوشٌ وَمِصْرَايِمُ وَفُوطُ وَكَنْعَانُ.

The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

٧ 7 وَأَبْنَاءُ كُوشٍ: سَبَا، وَحَوِيلَةُ، وَسَبْتَةُ وَرَعْمَةُ وَسَبْتَكَا. وَأَبْنَاءُ رَعْمَةَ: سَبَا وَدَدَانُ.

The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

٨ 8 وَأَنْجَبَ كُوْشُ نِمْرُودَ الَّذِي مَا لَبِثَ أَنْ أَصْبَحَ عَاتِياً فِي الأَرْضِ.

Cush became the father of Nimrod. He began to be a mighty one on the earth.

٩ 9 كَانَ صَيَّاداً عَاتِياً أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ، لِذَلِكَ يُقَالُ: «كَنِمْرُودَ جَبَّارُّ صَيْدٍ أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ».

He was a mighty hunter before God. Therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before God."

١٠ 10 وَقَدْ تَكَوَّنَتْ مَمْلَكَتُهُ أَوَّلَ الأَمْرِ مِنْ بَابِلَ وَأَرَكَ وَأَكَّدَ وَكَلْنَةَ فِي أَرْضِ شِنْعَارَ.

And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Akkad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

١١ 11 وَمِنْ تِلْكَ الأَرْضِ خَرَجَ أَشُّورُ وَبَنَى مُدُنَ نِينَوَى وَرَحُبُوتَ عَيْرَ وَكَالَحَ،

Out of that land he went forth into Assyria, and built Nineveh, and Rehoboth Ir, and Calah,

١٢ 12 وَرَسَنَ الْوَاقِعَةَ بَيْنَ نِينَوَى وَكَالَحَ. وَهِيَ الْمَدِينَةُ الْكَبِيرَةُ.

and Resen, between Nineveh and the great city of Calah.

١٣ 13 وَمِنْ مِصْرَايِمَ تَحَدَّرَتْ هَذِهِ الْقَبَائِلُ: اللُّودِيُّونَ وَالْعَنَامِيُّونَ، وَاللهَابِيُّونَ وَالنَّفْتُوحِيُّونَ

And Mizraim became the father of Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

١٤ 14 وَالْفَتْرُوسِيُّونَ وَالْكَسْلُوحِيُّونَ. وَمِنْهُمْ تَحَدَّرَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيُّونَ وَالْكَفْتُورِيُّونَ.

And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, which the Philistines descended from, and Caphtorim.

١٥ 15 وَأَنْجَبَ كَنْعَانُ صِيدُونَ ابْنَهُ الْبِكْرَ ثُمَّ حِثًّا،

And Canaan became the father of Sidon, his firstborn, and Heth,

١٦ 16 وَمِنْهُ تَحَدَّرَتْ قَبَائِلُ الْيَبُوسِيِّينَ وَالأَمُورِيِّينَ وَالْجِرْجَاشِيِّينَ،

and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, and the Girgashites,

١٧ 17 وَالْحِوِّيِّينَ وَالْعَرْقِيِّينَ وَالسِّينِيِّينَ،

and the Hivites, and the Arkites, and the Sinites,

١٨ 18 وَالأَرْوَادِيِّينَ وَالصَّمَارِيِّينَ وَالْحَمَاتِيِّينَ، وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ انْتَشَرَتِ الْقَبَائِلُ الْكَنْعَانِيَّةُ

and the Arvadites, and the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were spread abroad.

١٩ 19 فِي الأَرَاضِي الْوَاقِعَةِ بَيْنَ صِيدُونَ وَغَزَّةَ مُرُوراً بِجَرَارَ، وَبَيْنَ صِيدُونَ وَلاشَعَ مُرُوراً بِسَدُومَ وَعَمُورَةَ وَأَدْمَةَ وَصَبُويِيمَ.

And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as you go toward Gerar, to Gaza; as you go toward Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboiim, to Lasha.

٢٠ 20 كَانَ هَؤُلاءِ هُمُ الْمُنْحَدِرُونَ مِنْ حَامٍ بِحَسَبِ قَبَائِلِهِمْ وَلُغَاتِهِمْ وَبُلْدَانِهِمْ وَشُعُوبِهِمْ.

These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their languages, in their lands, in their nations.

٢١ 21 وَأَنْجَبَ سَامٌ، أَخُو يَافَثَ الأَكْبَرُ، أَبْنَاءً. وَمِنْهُ تَحَدَّرَ جَمِيعُ بَنِي عَابِرَ.

To Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, to him also were children born.

٢٢ 22 أَمَّا أَبْنَاءُ سَامٍ فَهُمْ: عِيلامُ وَأَشُّورُ وَأَرْفَكْشَادُ وَلُودُ وَأَرَامُ

The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram.

٢٣ 23 وَأَبْنَاءُ أَرَامَ: عُوصُ، وَحُولُ، وَجَاثَرُ وَمَاشُ.

The sons of Aram: Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

٢٤ 24 وَأَنْجَبَ أَرْفَكْشَادُ شَالَحَ، وَوَلَدَ شَالَحُ عَابِرَ.

And Arpachshad became the father of Kenan. And Kenan became the father of Shelah. And Shelah became the father of Eber.

٢٥ 25 وَوُلِدَ لِعَابِرَ ابْنَانِ: اسْمُ أَحَدِهِمَا فَالَجُ (وَمَعْنَاهُ انْقِسَامٌ) لأَنَّ أَهْلَ الأَرْضِ انْقَسَمُوا فِي أَيَّامِهِ. وَاسْمُ أَخِيهِ يَقْطَانُ.

To Eber were born two sons. The name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided. His brother's name was Joktan.

٢٦ 26 وَأَنْجَبَ يَقْطَانُ أَلْمُودَادَ وَشَالَفَ وَحَضَرْمَوْتَ وَيَارَحَ،

And Joktan became the father of Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

٢٧ 27 وَهَدُورَامَ وَأُوزَالَ وَدِقْلَةَ،

and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

٢٨ 28 وَعُوبَالَ وَأَبِيمَايِلَ وَشَبَا،

and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

٢٩ 29 وَأُوفِيرَ وَحَوِيلَةَ وَيُوبَابَ. وَهَؤُلاءِ جَمِيعُهُمْ أَبْنَاءُ يَقْطَانَ.

and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

٣٠ 30 وَقَدِ اسْتَوْطَنُوا فِي الأَرَاضِي الْوَاقِعَةِ بَيْنَ مِيشَا وَالتِّلالِ الشَّرْقِيَّةِ مِنْ جَبَلِ سَفَارَ.

Their dwelling was from Mesha, as you go toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.

٣١ 31 هَؤُلاءِ هُمُ الْمُنْحَدِرُونَ مِنْ سَامٍ حَسَبَ قَبَائِلِهِمْ وَلُغَاتِهِمْ وَبُلْدَانِهِمْ وَشُعُوبِهِمْ.

These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their languages, in their lands, after their nations.

٣٢ 32 هَذِهِ هِيَ الْقَبَائِلُ الْمُنْحَدِرَةُ مِنْ أَبْنَاءِ نُوحٍ حَسَبَ شُعُوبِهِمْ، وَمِنْهُمُ انْتَشَرَتِ الأُمَمُ فِي الأَرْضِ بَعْدَ الطُّوفَانِ.

These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations, and from these the nations branched out on the earth after the flood.
