عامُوس 8

١ 1 ثُمَّ أَرَانِي السَّيِّدُ الرَّبُّ فِي رُؤْيَا سَلَّةً لِقِطَافِ الثِّمَارِ.

thus to see: see me Lord YHWH/God and behold basket summer

٢ 2 وَسَأَلَنِي: «مَاذَا تَرَى يَا عَامُوسُ؟» فَأَجَبْتُ: «سَلَّةً مَلِيئَةً بِثِمَارِ الصَّيْفِ النَّاضِجَةِ». فَقَالَ لِي الرَّبُّ: «لَقَدْ دَنَتْ نِهَايَةُ شَعْبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَلَنْ أَعْفُوَ عَنْهُمْ بَعْدُ.

and to say what? you(m. s.) to see: see Amos and to say basket summer and to say LORD to(wards) me to come (in): come [the] end to(wards) people my Israel not to add: again still to pass to/for him

٣ 3 فَتَتَحَوَّلُ أَغَانِي قُصُورِهِمْ إِلَى عَوِيلٍ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ، وَتَكْثُرُ الْجُثَثُ وَيَطْرَحُونَهَا فِي كُلِّ مَكَانٍ بِصَمْتٍ».

and to wail song temple in/on/with day [the] he/she/it utterance Lord YHWH/God many [the] corpse in/on/with all place to throw to silence

٤ 4 اسْتَمِعُوا هَذَا أَيُّهَا الدَّائِسُونَ عَلَى الْبَائِسِينَ، يَا مَنْ حَاوَلْتُمْ أَنْ تَقْضُوا عَلَى فُقَرَاءِ الأَرْضِ،

to hear: hear this [the] to crush needy and to/for to cease (afflicted *Q(K)*) land: country/planet

٥ 5 قَائِلِينَ: «مَتَى يَنْقَضِي أَوَّلُ الشَّهْرِ حَتَّى نَبِيعَ الْقَمْحَ؟ مَتَى يَمْضِي السَّبْتُ لِنَعْرِضَ الْقَمْحَ فِي السُّوقِ، فَنَعْمَدَ إِلَى تَصْغِيرِ حَجْمِ مِكْيَالِ الإِيفَةِ وَنَرْفَعَ الأَسْعَارَ، وَنَسْتَعْمِلَ مِيزَاناً مَغْشُوشاً.

to/for to say how to pass [the] month: new moon and to buy grain grain and [the] Sabbath and to open grain to/for be small ephah and to/for to magnify shekel and to/for to pervert balance deceit

٦ 6 لِنَشْتَرِيَ الْمِسْكِينَ بِقِطْعَةٍ مِنَ الْفِضَّةِ، وَالْبَائِسَ بِنَعْلَيْنِ، وَنَبِيعَ نُفَايَةَ الْقَمْحِ؟»

to/for to buy in/on/with silver: money poor and needy in/on/with for the sake of sandal and refuse grain to buy grain

٧ 7 قَدْ أَقْسَمَ الرَّبُّ بِعِزَّةِ يَعْقُوبَ قَائِلاً: «لَنْ أَنْسَى شَيْئاً مِنْ مَسَاوِئِهِمْ.

to swear LORD in/on/with pride Jacob if: surely yes to forget to/for perpetuity all deed their

٨ 8 ألا تَرْتَعِبُ الأَرْضُ مِنْ جَرَّاءِ ذَلِكَ، فَيَنُوحَ كُلُّ سَاكِنٍ فِيهَا، فَتَطْمُوَ كَنَهْرٍ، وَتَرْتَفِعَ وَتَنْخَفِضَ كَنِيلِ مِصْرَ؟

upon this not to tremble [the] land: country/planet and to mourn all to dwell in/on/with her and to ascend: rise like/as Nile all her and to drive out: drive out (and to sink *Q(K)*) like/as Nile Egypt

٩ 9 وَيَقُولُ الرَّبُّ: فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ أَجْعَلُ الشَّمْسَ تَغْرُبُ عِنْدَ الظَّهِيرَةِ، وَأَغْمُرُ الأَرْضَ بِالظُّلْمَةِ فِي رَابِعَةِ النَّهَارِ.

and to be in/on/with day [the] he/she/it utterance Lord YHWH/God and to come (in): (sun)set [the] sun in/on/with midday and to darken to/for land: country/planet in/on/with day light

١٠ 10 أُحَوِّلُ أَعْيَادَكُمْ إِلَى مَآتِمَ، وَأَغَانِيَكُمْ إِلَى مَرَاثٍ، وَأُلْبِسُكُمُ الْمُسُوحَ عَلَى أَحْقَائِكُمْ، وَأُفْشِي الصَّلَعَ فِي كُلِّ رَأْسٍ، فَتُصْبِحُ أَعْيَادُكُمْ كَمَنَاحَةٍ عَلَى وَحِيدٍ، وَنِهَايَتُهَا كَيَوْمٍ مُفْعَمٍ بِالْمَرَارَةِ.

and to overturn feast your to/for mourning and all song your to/for dirge and to ascend: establish upon all loin sackcloth and upon all head bald spot and to set: make her like/as mourning only and end her like/as day bitter

١١ 11 سَتَأْتِي أَيَّامٌ أَجْعَلُ فِيهَا الْمَجَاعَةَ تَنْتَشِرُ فِي الأَرْضِ، لَا مَجَاعَةً إِلَى الْخُبْزِ، وَلا ظَمَأً إِلَى الْمَاءِ إِنَّمَا لِسَمَاعِ كَلامِ الرَّبِّ، يَقُولُ السَّيِّدُ الرَّبُّ.

behold day to come (in): come utterance Lord YHWH/God and to send: depart famine in/on/with land: country/planet not famine to/for food: bread and not thirst to/for water that if: except if: except to/for to hear: hear [obj] word LORD

١٢ 12 فَيَهِيمُونَ مِنْ بَحْرٍ إِلَى بَحْرٍ، وَمِنَ الشِّمَالِ إِلَى الشَّرْقِ. يَذْهَبُونَ وَيَجِيئُونَ بَحْثاً عَنْ كَلِمَةِ الرَّبِّ وَلا يَحْظَوْنَ بِها.

and to shake from sea till sea and from north and till east to rove to/for to seek [obj] word LORD and not to find

١٣ 13 فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ يُغْشَى عَلَى العَذَارَى الْجَمِيلاتِ وَالْفِتْيَانِ مِنْ فَرْطِ الظَّمَإِ.

in/on/with day [the] he/she/it to enwrap [the] virgin [the] beautiful and [the] youth in/on/with thirst

١٤ 14 أَمَّا الَّذِينَ يُقْسِمُونَ بِأَوْثَانِ السَّامِرَةِ قَائِلِينَ: حَيٌّ إِلَهُكَ يَا دَانُ، وَحَيٌّ مَعْبُودُ بِئْرِ سَبْعٍ. هَؤُلاءِ يَسْقُطُونَ وَلا يَنْهَضُونَ أَبَداً ثَانِيَةً».
