1 تسالونيكي 5

١ 1 أَمَّا مَسْأَلَةُ الأَزْمِنَةِ وَالأَوْقَاتِ الْمُحَدَّدَةِ، فَلَسْتُمْ فِي حَاجَةٍ لأَنْ يُكْتَبَ إِلَيْكُمْ فِيهَا.

But concerning the times and seasons, my brethren, ye need not that I write to you:

٢ 2 لأَنَّكُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ يَقِيناً أَنَّ يَوْمَ الرَّبِّ سَيَأْتِي كَمَا يَأْتِي اللِّصُّ فِي اللَّيْلِ.

for ye know assuredly, that the day of our Lord so cometh, as a thief by night.

٣ 3 فَبَيْنَمَا النَّاسُ يَقُولُونَ: حَلَّ السَّلامُ وَالأَمْنُ! يَنْزِلُ بِهِمِ الْهَلاكُ الْمُفَاجِئُ كَالْمَخَاضِ الَّذِي يَدْهَمُ الْحُبْلَى، فَلا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ أَبَداً أَنْ يُفْلِتُوا.

While they will be saying, Peace and quietness, then suddenly destruction will burst upon them, as distress upon a child-bearer, and they will not escape.

٤ 4 غَيْرَ أَنَّكُمْ أَنْتُمْ، أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ، لَسْتُمْ فِي الظَّلامِ حَتَّى يُفَاجِئَكُمْ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ كَأَنَّهُ لِصٌّ.

But ye, my brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

٥ 5 فَأَنْتُمْ جَمِيعاً أَبْنَاءُ النُّورِ وَأَبْنَاءُ النَّهَارِ. إِنَّنَا لَسْنَا أَهْلَ اللَّيْلِ وَلا أَهْلَ الظَّلامِ.

For ye are all children of the light, and children of the day; and are not children of the night, and children of darkness.

٦ 6 إِذَنْ، لَا نَنَمْ كَمَا يَنَامُ الآخَرُونَ، بَلْ لِنَظَلّ سَاهِرِينَ وَصَاحِينَ،

Let us not therefore sleep, like others; but let us be vigilant and considerate.

٧ 7 فَإِنَّهُ فِي اللَّيْلِ يَنَامُ الَّذِينَ يَنَامُونَ، وَفِي اللَّيْلِ يَسْكَرُ الَّذِينَ يَسْكَرُونَ

For they who sleep, sleep in the night; and they who are drunken, are drunken in the night.

٨ 8 وَأَمَّا نَحْنُ، أَهْلَ النَّهَارِ، فَلْنَظَلّ صَاحِينَ، مُتَّخِذِينَ مِنَ الإِيمَانِ وَالْمَحَبَّةِ دِرْعاً لِصُدُورِنَا، وَمِنَ الرَّجَاءِ بِالْخَلاصِ خُوذَةً لِرُؤُوسِنَا.

But let us who are children of the day, be wakeful in mind, and put on the breastplate of faith and love, and take the helmet of the hope of life.

٩ 9 فَإِنَّ اللهَ عَيَّنَنَا لَا لِيَنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا الْغَضَبُ بَلْ لِنَنَالَ الْخَلاصَ بِرَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ،

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to the acquisition of life, by our Lord Jesus the Messiah:

١٠ 10 الَّذِي مَاتَ عَنَّا لِكَيْ نَحْيَا جَمِيعاً مَعَهُ، سَوَاءٌ كُنَّا فِي سَهَرِ الْحَيَاةِ أَمْ فِي رُقَادِ الْمَوْتِ!

who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we might live together with him.

١١ 11 لِذَلِكَ عَزُّوا بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضاً وَشَدِّدُوا أَحَدُكُمُ الآخَرَ، كَمَا أَنْتُمْ فَاعِلُونَ.

Therefore comfort one another, and edify one another, as also ye have done.

١٢ 12 عَلَى أَنَّنَا نَرْجُو مِنْكُمْ، أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ، أَنْ تُمَيِّزُوا أُولئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَجْتَهِدُونَ بَيْنَكُمْ، وَيَرْعُونَكُمْ كَمَا يُرِيدُ الرَّبُّ، وَيَعِظُونَكُمْ،

And we entreat you, my brethren, that ye recognize them who labor among you, and who stand before your faces in our Lord, and instruct you:

١٣ 13 وَأَنْ تُقَدِّرُوهُمْ تَقْدِيراً فَائِقاً فِي الْمَحَبَّةِ، مِنْ أَجْلِ عَمَلِهِمْ. عِيشُوا بِسَلامٍ بَعْضُكُمْ مَعَ بَعْضٍ.

that they may be esteemed by you with abundant love; and, on account of their work, live ye in harmony with them.

١٤ 14 إِلَّا أَنَّنَا نُنَاشِدُكُمْ، أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ، أَنْ تَعِظُوا الْفَوْضَوِيِّينَ، وَتُشَدِّدُوا فَاقِدِي الْعَزْمِ، وَتُسَانِدُوا الضُّعَفَاءَ، وَتُعَامِلُوا الْجَمِيعَ بِطُولِ الْبَالِ.

And we entreat you, my brethren, that ye admonish the faulty, and encourage the faint-hearted, and bear the burdens of the weak, and be long suffering towards all men.

١٥ 15 حَذَارِ أَنْ يُبَادِلَ أَحَدُكُمْ شَرَّ غَيْرِهِ بِشَرٍّ مِثْلِهِ. بَلِ اسْعَوْا دَائِماً إِلَى الْخَيْرِ فِي مُعَامَلَتِكُمْ بَعْضِكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ وَلِلآخَرِينَ جَمِيعاً.

And beware, lest any of you return evil for evil, but always follow good deeds, towards one another, and towards all men.

١٦ 16 افْرَحُوا عَلَى الدَّوَامِ؛

And be joyful always.

١٧ 17 صَلُّوا دُونَ انْقِطَاعٍ؛

And pray without ceasing.

١٨ 18 ارْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ فِي كُلِّ حَالٍ: فَهذِهِ هِيَ مَشِيئَةُ اللهِ لَكُمْ فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ.

And in every thing be thankful: For this is the pleasure of God in Jesus the Messiah, concerning you.

١٩ 19 لَا تُخْمِدُوا الرُّوحَ،

Quench not the Spirit.

٢٠ 20 لَا تَحْتَقِرُوا النُّبُوءَاتِ؛

Despise not prophesying.

٢١ 21 امْتَحِنُوا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَتَمَسَّكُوا بِالْحَسَنِ.

Explore every thing, and hold fast the good:

٢٢ 22 تَرَفَّعُوا عَنْ كُلِّ مَا فِيهِ شُبْهَةُ شَرٍّ.

and fly from every thing evil.

٢٣ 23 وَإِلَهُ السَّلامِ نَفْسُهُ يُقَدِّسُكُمْ إِلَى التَّمَامِ وَيَحْفَظُكُمْ سَالِمِينَ، رُوحاً وَنَفْساً وَجَسَداً، لِتَكُونُوا بِلا لَوْمٍ عِنْدَ عَوْدَةِ رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ.

And may the God of peace sanctify you all, perfectly, and keep blameless your whole spirit, and your soul, and your body, till the coming of our Lord Jesus the Messiah.

٢٤ 24 فَإِنَّ اللهَ الَّذِي يَدْعُوكُمْ صَادِقٌ، وَسَوْفَ يُتِمُّ ذَلِكَ.

Faithful is he that hath called you, who will do it.

٢٥ 25 أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ، صَلُّوا لأَجْلِنَا.

My brethren, pray for us.

٢٦ 26 سَلِّمُوا عَلَى جَمِيعِ الإِخْوَةِ بِقُبْلَةٍ طَاهِرَةٍ!

Salute all our brethren with a holy kiss.

٢٧ 27 أُنَاشِدُكُمْ بِالرَّبِّ أَنْ تُقْرَأَ هذِهِ الرِّسَالَةُ عَلَى جَمِيعِ الإِخْوَةِ.

I conjure you by our Lord, that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren.

٢٨ 28 وَلْتَكُنْ مَعَكُمْ نِعْمَةُ رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ.

The grace of our Lord Jesus the Messiah be with you. Amen.
