Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared,
| أَخْنُوخُ، مَتُوشَالَحُ، لامَكُ، | ٣ 3 |
Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech,
| نُوحٌ، سَامٌ، حَامٌ، يَافَثُ. | ٤ 4 |
Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
| أَمَّا أَبْنَاءُ يَافَثَ فَهُمْ: جُومَرُ وَمَاجُوجُ وَمَادَايُ وَيَاوَانُ وَتُوبَالُ، وَمَاشَكُ وَتِيرَاسُ. | ٥ 5 |
The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
| وَأَبْنَاءُ جُومَرَ: أَشْكَنَازُ وَرِيفَاثُ وَتُوجَرْمَةُ. | ٦ 6 |
The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Diphath, and Togarmah.
| وَأَبْنَاءُ يَاوَانَ: أَلِيشَةُ وَتَرْشِيشَةُ وَكِتِّيمُ وَدُودَانِيمُ. | ٧ 7 |
The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.
| أَمَّا أَبْنَاءُ حامٍ فَهُمْ: كُوشٌ وَمِصْرَايِمُ وَفُوطٌ وَكَنْعَانُ. | ٨ 8 |
The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
| وَأَبْنَاءُ كُوشٍ: سَبَا وَحَوِيلَةُ وَسَبْتَا وَرَعَمَا وَسَبْتَكَا. وَأَبْنَاءُ رَعَمَا: شَبَا وَدَادَانُ. | ٩ 9 |
The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raama, Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
| وَأَنْجَبَ كُوشٌ نِمْرُودَ الَّذِي شَبَّ وَصَارَ مُحَارِباً مَرْهُوباً فِي الأَرْضِ. | ١٠ 10 |
Cush became the father of Nimrod. He began to be a mighty one in the earth.
| وَأَنْجَبَ مِصْرَايِمُ لُودِيمَ وَعَنَامِيمَ وَلَهَابِيمَ وَنَفْتُوحِيمَ، | ١١ 11 |
Mizraim became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
| وَفَتْرُوسِيمَ وَكَسْلُوحِيمَ الَّذِينَ تَحَدَّرَ مِنْهُمُ الْفِلِسْطِينِيُّونَ وَالْكَفْتُورِيُّونَ. | ١٢ 12 |
Pathrusim, Casluhim (where the Philistines came from), and Caphtorim.
| وَأَنْجَبَ كَنْعَانُ بِكْرَهُ صِيدُونَ، وَمِنْ صُلْبِهِ تَحَدَّرَ الْحِثِّيُّونَ. | ١٣ 13 |
Canaan became the father of Sidon his firstborn, Heth,
| وَالْيَبُوسِيُّونَ وَالأَمُورِيُّونَ، وَالْجِرْجَاشِيُّونَ، | ١٤ 14 |
the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgashite,
| وَالْحِوِّيُّونَ وَالْعَرْقِيُّونَ وَالسِّينِيُّونَ، | ١٥ 15 |
the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite,
| وَالأَرْوَادِيُّونَ وَالصَّمَّارِيُّونَ وَالْحَمَاثِيُّونَ. | ١٦ 16 |
the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.
| أَمَّا أَبْنَاءُ سَامٍ فَهُمْ: عِيلامُ وَأَشُورُ وأَرْفَكْشَادُ وَلُودٌ وَأَرَامُ وَعُوصُ وَحُولُ وَجَاثَرُ وَمَاشَكُ. | ١٧ 17 |
The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.
| وَأَنْجَبَ أَرْفَكْشَادُ شَالَحَ، وَأَنْجَبَ شَالَحُ عَابِرَ. | ١٨ 18 |
Arpachshad became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber.
| وَوُلِدَ لِعَابِرَ ابْنَانِ، اسْمُ أَحَدِهِمَا فَالَجُ لأَنَّ شُعُوبَ الأَرْضِ انْقَسَمَتْ فِي أَيَّامِهِ إِلَى قَبَائِلَ حَسَبَ لُغَاتِهَا. وَاسْمُ أَخِيهِ يَقْطَانُ. | ١٩ 19 |
To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.
| وَأَنْجَبَ يَقْطَانُ أَلْمُودَادَ وَشَالَفَ وَحَضَرْمَوْتَ وَيَارَحَ، | ٢٠ 20 |
Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
| وَهَدُورَامَ وَأُوزَالَ وَدِقْلَةَ، | ٢١ 21 |
Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
| وَعِيبَالَ وَأَبِيمَايِلَ وَشَبَا، | ٢٢ 22 |
Ebal, Abimael, Sheba,
| وَأُوفِيرَ وَحَوِيلَةَ وَيُوبَابَ. وَجَمِيعُ هَؤُلاءِ هُمْ أَبْنَاءُ يَقْطَانَ. | ٢٣ 23 |
Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
| أَمَّا إِبْرَاهِيمُ فَقَدْ تَحَدَّرَ مِنْ نَسْلِ سَامٍ، أَرْفَكْشَادَ، شَالَحَ، | ٢٤ 24 |
Shem, Arpachshad, Shelah,
| عَابِرَ، فَالَجَ، رَعُو، | ٢٥ 25 |
Eber, Peleg, Reu,
| سَرُوجَ، نَاحُورَ، تَارَحَ، | ٢٦ 26 |
Serug, Nahor, Terah,
| الَّذِي أَنْجَبَ أَبْرَامَ الَّذِي دُعِيَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ. | ٢٧ 27 |
Abram (also called Abraham).
| وَوُلِدَ لإِبْرَاهِيمَ إِسْحَاقُ وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ. | ٢٨ 28 |
The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.
| وَهَذِهِ أَسْمَاءُ مَوَالِيدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ: نَبَايُوتُ بِكْرُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، وَقِيدَارُ وَأَدَبْئِيلُ وَمِبْسَامُ، | ٢٩ 29 |
These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
| وَمِشْمَاعُ وَدُومَةُ وَمَسَّا وَحَدَدُ وَتَيْمَاءُ، | ٣٠ 30 |
Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,
| وَيَطُورُ وَنَافِيشُ وَقِدْمَةُ. وَجَمِيعُ هَؤُلاءِ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ. | ٣١ 31 |
Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.
| أَمَّا قَطُورَةُ مَحْظِيَّةُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَدْ أَنْجَبَتْ لَهُ زِمْرَانَ وَيَقْشَانَ وَمَدَانَ وَمِدْيَانَ وَيِشْبَاقَ وَشُوحَاً. وَابْنَا يَقْشَانَ هُمَا: شَبَا وَدَدَانُ. | ٣٢ 32 |
The sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bore Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.
| وَأَبْنَاءُ مِدْيَانَ هُمْ: عَيفَةُ وَعِفْرُ وَحَنُوكُ وَأَبِيدَاعُ وَأَلْدَعَةُ. وَجَمِيعُ هَؤُلاءِ هُمْ ذُرِّيَّةُ قَطُورَةَ. | ٣٣ 33 |
The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.
| وَأَنْجَبَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ إِسْحَاقَ، وَكَانَ لإِسْحَاقَ ابْنَانِ هُمَا عِيسُو وَإِسْرَائِيلُ. | ٣٤ 34 |
Abraham became the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.
| أَمَّا أَبْنَاءُ عِيسُو فَهُمْ: أَلِيفَازُ وَرَعُوئِيلُ وَيَعُوشُ وَيَعْلامُ وَقُورَحُ. | ٣٥ 35 |
The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
| وَأَبْنَاءُ أَلِيفَازَ: تَيْمَانُ وَأُومَارُ وَصَفِي وَجَعْثَامُ وَقِنَازُ وَتِمْنَاعُ وَعَمَالِيقُ. | ٣٦ 36 |
The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna, and Amalek.
| وَأَبْنَاءُ رَعُوئِيلَ: نَحَثُ وَزَارَحُ وَشَمَّةُ وَمَزَّةُ. | ٣٧ 37 |
The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
| وَمِنْ أَبْنَاءِ عِيسُو (سِعِيرَ) أَيْضاً لُوطَانُ وَشُوبَالُ وَصِبْعُونُ وَعَنَى وَدِيشُونُ وَإِيصَرُ وَدِيشَانُ. | ٣٨ 38 |
The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
| وَابْنَا لُوطَانَ: حُورِي وَهُومَامُ. وَكَانَتْ لِلُوطَانَ أُخْتٌ تُدْعَى تِمْنَاعَ. | ٣٩ 39 |
The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam; and Timna was Lotan’s sister.
| وَأَبْنَاءُ شُوبَالَ: عَلْيَانُ وَمَنَاحَةُ وَعِيبَالُ وَشَفِي وَأُونَامُ. وَابْنَا صِبْعُونَ: أَيَّةُ وَعَنَى. | ٤٠ 40 |
The sons of Shobal: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah.
| وَأَنْجَبَ عَنَى دِيشُونَ، وَوُلِدَ لِدِيشُونَ حَمْرَانُ وَأَشْبَانُ وَيِثْرَانُ وَكَرَانُ. | ٤١ 41 |
The son of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hamran, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.
| وَأَبْنَاءُ إِيصَرَ: بِلْهَانُ وَزَعْوَانُ وَيَعْقَانُ. وَابْنَا دِيشَانَ: عُوصُ وَأَرَانُ. | ٤٢ 42 |
The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Jaakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
| وَهَذَا سِجِلٌّ بِأَسْمَاءِ الْمُلُوكِ الَّذِينَ حَكَمُوا فِي أَدُومَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَوَلَّى عَلَى إِسْرَائِيلَ مَلِكٌ: بَالِعُ بْنُ بَعُورَ وَاسْمُ عَاصِمَتِهِ دِنْهَابَةُ. | ٤٣ 43 |
Now these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before any king reigned over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
| وَمَاتَ بَالِعُ فَخَلَفَهُ يُوبَابُ بْنُ زَارَحَ مِنْ أَهْلِ بُصْرَةَ. | ٤٤ 44 |
Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.
| وَمَاتَ يُوبَابُ فَخَلَفَهُ حُوشَامُ مِنْ مِنْطَقَةِ تَيْمَانَ. | ٤٥ 45 |
Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
| وَمَاتَ حُوشَامُ فَخَلَفَهُ هَدَدُ بْنُ بَدَدَ الَّذِي هَزَمَ الْمِدْيَانِيِّينَ فِي مَعْرَكَةٍ فِي بِلادِ مُوآبَ، وَاسْمُ عَاصِمَتِهِ عَوِيتُ. | ٤٦ 46 |
Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who struck Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Avith.
| وَمَاتَ هَدَدُ فَخَلَفَهُ سِمْلَةُ مِنْ مَدِينَةِ مَسْرِيقَةَ. | ٤٧ 47 |
Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.
| وَمَاتَ سِمْلَةُ فَخَلَفَهُ شَاوُلُ مِنْ أَهْلِ رَحُوبُوتِ النَّهْرِ. | ٤٨ 48 |
Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the River reigned in his place.
| وَمَاتَ شَاوُلُ فَخَلَفَهُ بَعْلُ حَانَانَ بْنُ عَكْبُورَ. | ٤٩ 49 |
Shaul died, and Baal Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.
| وَمَاتَ بَعْلُ حَانَانَ فَخَلَفَهُ هَدَدُ وَاسْمُ مَدِينَتِهِ فَاعِي، وَزَوْجَتُهُ تُدْعَى مَهِيطَبْئِيلَ بِنْتَ مَطْرِدَ بِنْتِ مَاءِ ذَهَبٍ. | ٥٠ 50 |
Baal Hanan died, and Hadad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pai. His wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
| ثُمَّ مَاتَ هَدَدُ. أَمَّا أُمَرَاءُ أَدُومَ: فَهُمْ: أَمِيرُ تِمْنَاعَ، أَمِيرُ عَلْوَةَ، أَمِيرُ يَتِيتَ، | ٥١ 51 |
Then Hadad died. The chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth,
| أَمِيرُ أَهُولِيبَامَةَ، أَمِيرُ أَيْلَةَ، أَمِيرُ فِينُونَ، | ٥٢ 52 |
chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,
| أَمِيرُ قِنَازَ، أَمِيرُ تَيْمَانَ، أَمِيرُ مِبْصَارَ، | ٥٣ 53 |
chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,
| أَمِيرُ مَجْدِيئِيلَ، أَمِيرُ عِيرَامَ. وَجَمِيعُ هَؤُلاءِ أُمَرَاءُ قَبَائِلِ الأَدُومِيِّينَ. | ٥٤ 54 |
chief Magdiel, and chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom.
