رُوما 2

١ 1 لِذَلِكَ أَنْتَ بِلَا عُذْرٍ أَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنْسَانُ، كُلُّ مَنْ يَدِينُ. لِأَنَّكَ فِي مَا تَدِينُ غَيْرَكَ تَحْكُمُ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ. لِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ ٱلَّذِي تَدِينُ تَفْعَلُ تِلْكَ ٱلْأُمُورَ بِعَيْنِهَا!

Therefore yoʋ are without excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For on whatever grounds yoʋ judge another, yoʋ condemn yoʋrself, for yoʋ who judge do the same things.

٢ 2 وَنَحْنُ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّ دَيْنُونَةَ ٱللهِ هِيَ حَسَبُ ٱلْحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْعَلُونَ مِثْلَ هَذِهِ.

Now we know that the judgment of God against those who do such things is in accordance with truth.

٣ 3 أَفَتَظُنُّ هَذَا أَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنْسَانُ ٱلَّذِي تَدِينُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْعَلُونَ مِثْلَ هَذِهِ، وَأَنْتَ تَفْعَلُهَا، أَنَّكَ تَنْجُو مِنْ دَيْنُونَةِ ٱللهِ؟

Do yoʋ suppose, O man—yoʋ who judge those who do such things and yet do them yoʋrself—that yoʋ will escape the judgment of God?

٤ 4 أَمْ تَسْتَهِينُ بِغِنَى لُطْفِهِ وَإِمْهَالِهِ وَطُولِ أَنَاتِهِ، غَيْرَ عَالِمٍ أَنَّ لُطْفَ ٱللهِ إِنَّمَا يَقْتَادُكَ إِلَى ٱلتَّوْبَةِ؟

Or do yoʋ despise the riches of his kindness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads yoʋ to repentance?

٥ 5 وَلَكِنَّكَ مِنْ أَجْلِ قَسَاوَتِكَ وَقَلْبِكَ غَيْرِ ٱلتَّائِبِ، تَذْخَرُ لِنَفْسِكَ غَضَبًا فِي يَوْمِ ٱلْغَضَبِ وَٱسْتِعْلَانِ دَيْنُونَةِ ٱللهِ ٱلْعَادِلَةِ،

But according to yoʋr stubbornness and yoʋr unrepentant heart, yoʋ are storing up wrath for yoʋrself on the day of wrath, revelation, and the righteous judgment of God,

٦ 6 ٱلَّذِي سَيُجَازِي كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ حَسَبَ أَعْمَالِهِ.

who will repay each person according to his works.

٧ 7 أَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ بِصَبْرٍ فِي ٱلْعَمَلِ ٱلصَّالِحِ يَطْلُبُونَ ٱلْمَجْدَ وَٱلْكَرَامَةَ وَٱلْبَقَاءَ، فَبِٱلْحَيَاةِ ٱلْأَبَدِيَّةِ. (aiōnios g166)

To those who by patient endurance in good works seek glory, honor, and immortality, he will give eternal life; (aiōnios g166)

٨ 8 وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلتَّحَزُّبِ، وَلَا يُطَاوِعُونَ لِلْحَقِّ بَلْ يُطَاوِعُونَ لِلْإِثْمِ، فَسَخَطٌ وَغَضَبٌ،

but for those who are self-seeking and obey unrighteousness instead of the truth, there will be anger and wrath.

٩ 9 شِدَّةٌ وَضِيقٌ، عَلَى كُلِّ نَفْسِ إِنْسَانٍ يَفْعَلُ ٱلشَّرَّ: ٱلْيَهُودِيِّ أَوَّلًا ثُمَّ ٱلْيُونَانِيِّ.

There will be tribulation and distress for everyone who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek;

١٠ 10 وَمَجْدٌ وَكَرَامَةٌ وَسَلَامٌ لِكُلِّ مَنْ يَفْعَلُ ٱلصَّلَاحَ: ٱلْيَهُودِيِّ أَوَّلًا ثُمَّ ٱلْيُونَانِيِّ.

but there will be glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.

١١ 11 لِأَنْ لَيْسَ عِنْدَ ٱللهِ مُحَابَاةٌ.

For there is no partiality with God.

١٢ 12 لِأَنَّ كُلَّ مَنْ أَخْطَأَ بِدُونِ ٱلنَّامُوسِ فَبِدُونِ ٱلنَّامُوسِ يَهْلِكُ. وَكُلُّ مَنْ أَخْطَأَ فِي ٱلنَّامُوسِ فَبِٱلنَّامُوسِ يُدَانُ.

For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

١٣ 13 لِأَنْ لَيْسَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلنَّامُوسَ هُمْ أَبْرَارٌ عِنْدَ ٱللهِ، بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ بِٱلنَّامُوسِ هُمْ يُبَرَّرُونَ.

For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified.

١٤ 14 لِأَنَّهُ ٱلْأُمَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَيْسَ عِنْدَهُمُ ٱلنَّامُوسُ، مَتَى فَعَلُوا بِٱلطَّبِيعَةِ مَا هُوَ فِي ٱلنَّامُوسِ، فَهَؤُلَاءِ إِذْ لَيْسَ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّامُوسُ هُمْ نَامُوسٌ لِأَنْفُسِهِمِ،

For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what is required by the law, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.

١٥ 15 ٱلَّذِينَ يُظْهِرُونَ عَمَلَ ٱلنَّامُوسِ مَكْتُوبًا فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ، شَاهِدًا أَيْضًا ضَمِيرُهُمْ وَأَفْكَارُهُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَهَا مُشْتَكِيَةً أَوْ مُحْتَجَّةً،

They show that what the law requires is written in their hearts, as their conscience bears witness with them and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even defend them

١٦ 16 فِي ٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلَّذِي فِيهِ يَدِينُ ٱللهُ سَرَائِرَ ٱلنَّاسِ حَسَبَ إِنْجِيلِي بِيَسُوعَ ٱلْمَسِيحِ.

on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secret thoughts of men through Jesus Christ.

١٧ 17 هُوَذَا أَنْتَ تُسَمَّى يَهُودِيًّا، وَتَتَّكِلُ عَلَى ٱلنَّامُوسِ، وَتَفْتَخِرُ بِٱللهِ،

Behold, yoʋ call yoʋrself a Jew and rely on the law and boast in God.

١٨ 18 وَتَعْرِفُ مَشِيئَتَهُ، وَتُمَيِّزُ ٱلْأُمُورَ ٱلْمُتَخَالِفَةَ، مُتَعَلِّمًا مِنَ ٱلنَّامُوسِ.

Yoʋ know his will and approve what is excellent, because yoʋ are instructed from the law.

١٩ 19 وَتَثِقُ أَنَّكَ قَائِدٌ لِلْعُمْيَانِ، وَنُورٌ لِلَّذِينَ فِي ٱلظُّلْمَةِ،

And yoʋ have confidence that yoʋ yoʋrself are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in darkness,

٢٠ 20 وَمُهَذِّبٌ لِلْأَغْبِيَاءِ، وَمُعَلِّمٌ لِلْأَطْفَالِ، وَلَكَ صُورَةُ ٱلْعِلْمِ وَٱلْحَقِّ فِي ٱلنَّامُوسِ.

an instructor of the foolish, and a teacher of children, because yoʋ have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth.

٢١ 21 فَأَنْتَ إِذًا ٱلَّذِي تُعَلِّمُ غَيْرَكَ، أَلَسْتَ تُعَلِّمُ نَفْسَكَ؟ ٱلَّذِي تَكْرِزُ: أَنْ لَا يُسْرَقَ، أَتَسْرِقُ؟

Yoʋ then who teach others, do yoʋ not teach yoʋrself? Yoʋ who preach against stealing, do yoʋ steal?

٢٢ 22 ٱلَّذِي تَقُولُ: أَنْ لَا يُزْنَى، أَتَزْنِي؟ ٱلَّذِي تَسْتَكْرِهُ ٱلْأَوْثَانَ، أَتَسْرِقُ ٱلْهَيَاكِلَ؟

Yoʋ who tell others not to commit adultery, do yoʋ commit adultery? Yoʋ who abhor idols, do yoʋ rob temples?

٢٣ 23 ٱلَّذِي تَفْتَخِرُ بِٱلنَّامُوسِ، أَبِتَعَدِّي ٱلنَّامُوسِ تُهِينُ ٱللهَ؟

Yoʋ who boast in the law, do yoʋ dishonor God by transgressing the law?

٢٤ 24 لِأَنَّ ٱسْمَ ٱللهِ يُجَدَّفُ عَلَيْهِ بِسَبَبِكُمْ بَيْنَ ٱلْأُمَمِ، كَمَا هُوَ مَكْتُوبٌ.

As it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

٢٥ 25 فَإِنَّ ٱلْخِتَانَ يَنْفَعُ إِنْ عَمِلْتَ بِٱلنَّامُوسِ. وَلَكِنْ إِنْ كُنْتَ مُتَعَدِّيًا ٱلنَّامُوسَ، فَقَدْ صَارَ خِتَانُكَ غُرْلَةً!

Circumcision does indeed benefit yoʋ if yoʋ observe the law, but if yoʋ transgress the law, yoʋr circumcision has become uncircumcision.

٢٦ 26 إِذًا إِنْ كَانَ ٱلْأَغْرَلُ يَحْفَظُ أَحْكَامَ ٱلنَّامُوسِ، أَفَمَا تُحْسَبُ غُرْلَتُهُ خِتَانًا؟

If then an uncircumcised man keeps the ordinances of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?

٢٧ 27 وَتَكُونُ ٱلْغُرْلَةُ ٱلَّتِي مِنَ ٱلطَّبِيعَةِ، وَهِيَ تُكَمِّلُ ٱلنَّامُوسَ، تَدِينُكَ أَنْتَ ٱلَّذِي فِي ٱلْكِتَابِ وَٱلْخِتَانِ تَتَعَدَّى ٱلنَّامُوسَ؟

Then he who is physically uncircumcised and carries out the law will judge yoʋ who, despite having the letter of the law and circumcision, transgress the law.

٢٨ 28 لِأَنَّ ٱلْيَهُودِيَّ فِي ٱلظَّاهِرِ لَيْسَ هُوَ يَهُودِيًّا، وَلَا ٱلْخِتَانُ ٱلَّذِي فِي ٱلظَّاهِرِ فِي ٱللَّحْمِ خِتَانًا،

For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, neither is circumcision something outward in the flesh;

٢٩ 29 بَلِ ٱلْيَهُودِيُّ فِي ٱلْخَفَاءِ هُوَ ٱلْيَهُودِيُّ، وَخِتَانُ ٱلْقَلْبِ بِٱلرُّوحِ لَا بِٱلْكِتَابِ هُوَ ٱلْخِتَانُ، ٱلَّذِي مَدْحُهُ لَيْسَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بَلْ مِنَ ٱللهِ.

but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. Such a man's praise comes not from men but from God.
