أَمْثَالٌ 9
| اَلْحِكْمَةُ بَنَتْ بَيْتَهَا. نَحَتَتْ أَعْمِدَتَهَا ٱلسَّبْعَةَ. | ١ 1 |
wisdom to build house: home her to hew pillar her seven
| ذَبَحَتْ ذَبْحَهَا. مَزَجَتْ خَمْرَهَا. أَيْضًا رَتَّبَتْ مَائِدَتَهَا. | ٢ 2 |
to slaughter slaughter her to mix wine her also to arrange table her
| أَرْسَلَتْ جَوَارِيَهَا تُنَادِي عَلَى ظُهُورِ أَعَالِي ٱلْمَدِينَةِ: | ٣ 3 |
to send: depart maiden her to call: call out upon single/height height town
| «مَنْ هُوَ جَاهِلٌ فَلْيَمِلْ إِلَى هُنَا». وَٱلنَّاقِصُ ٱلْفَهْمِ قَالَتْ لَهُ: | ٤ 4 |
who? simple to turn aside: depart here/thus lacking heart to say to/for him
| «هَلُمُّوا كُلُوا مِنْ طَعَامِي، وَٱشْرَبُوا مِنَ ٱلْخَمْرِ ٱلَّتِي مَزَجْتُهَا. | ٥ 5 |
to go: come! to feed on in/on/with food: bread my and to drink in/on/with wine to mix
| اُتْرُكُوا ٱلْجَهَالَاتِ فَتَحْيَوْا، وَسِيرُوا فِي طَرِيقِ ٱلْفَهْمِ». | ٦ 6 |
to leave: forsake simple and to live and to bless in/on/with way: conduct understanding
| مَنْ يُوَبِّخْ مُسْتَهْزِئًا يَكْسَبْ لِنَفْسِهِ هَوَانًا، وَمَنْ يُنْذِرْ شِرِّيرًا يَكْسَبْ عَيْبًا. | ٧ 7 |
to discipline to mock to take: recieve to/for him dishonor and to rebuke to/for wicked blemish his
| لَا تُوَبِّخْ مُسْتَهْزِئًا لِئَلَّا يُبْغِضَكَ. وَبِّخْ حَكِيمًا فَيُحِبَّكَ. | ٨ 8 |
not to rebuke to mock lest to hate you to rebuke to/for wise and to love: lover you
| أَعْطِ حَكِيمًا فَيَكُونَ أَوْفَرَ حِكْمَةً. عَلِّمْ صِدِّيقًا فَيَزْدَادَ عِلْمًا. | ٩ 9 |
to give: give to/for wise and be wise still to know to/for righteous and to add teaching
| بَدْءُ ٱلْحِكْمَةِ مَخَافَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ، وَمَعْرِفَةُ ٱلْقُدُّوسِ فَهْمٌ. | ١٠ 10 |
beginning wisdom fear LORD and knowledge holy understanding
| لِأَنَّهُ بِي تَكْثُرُ أَيَّامُكَ وَتَزْدَادُ لَكَ سِنُو حَيَاةٍ. | ١١ 11 |
for in/on/with me to multiply day your and to add to/for you year life
| إِنْ كُنْتَ حَكِيمًا فَأَنْتَ حَكِيمٌ لِنَفْسِكَ، وَإِنِ ٱسْتَهْزَأْتَ فَأَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ تَتَحَمَّلُ. | ١٢ 12 |
if be wise be wise to/for you and to mock to/for alone you to lift: bear
| اَلْمَرْأَةُ ٱلْجَاهِلَةُ صَخَّابَةٌ حَمْقَاءُ وَلَا تَدْرِي شَيْئًا، | ١٣ 13 |

| فَتَقْعُدُ عِنْدَ بَابِ بَيْتِهَا عَلَى كُرْسِيٍّ فِي أَعَالِي ٱلْمَدِينَةِ، | ١٤ 14 |

| لِتُنَادِيَ عَابِرِي ٱلسَّبِيلِ ٱلْمُقَوِّمِينَ طُرُقَهُمْ: | ١٥ 15 |

| «مَنْ هُوَ جَاهِلٌ فَلْيَمِلْ إِلَى هُنَا». وَٱلنَّاقِصُ ٱلْفَهْمِ تَقُولُ لَهُ: | ١٦ 16 |

| «ٱلْمِيَاهُ ٱلْمَسْرُوقَةُ حُلْوَةٌ، وَخُبْزُ ٱلْخُفْيَةِ لَذِيذٌ». | ١٧ 17 |
