أَمْثَالٌ 31
| كَلَامُ لَمُوئِيلَ مَلِكِ مَسَّا، عَلَّمَتْهُ إِيَّاهُ أُمُّهُ: | ١ 1 |
[the] words of Lemuel [the] king an oracle which she instructed him mother his.
| مَاذَا يَا ٱبْنِي؟ ثُمَّ مَاذَا يَا ٱبْنَ رَحِمِي؟ ثُمَّ مَاذَا يَا ٱبْنَ نُذُورِي؟ | ٢ 2 |
What? O son my and what? O son of womb my and what? O son of vows my.
| لَا تُعْطِ حَيْلَكَ لِلنِّسَاءِ، وَلَا طُرُقَكَ لِمُهْلِكَاتِ ٱلْمُلُوكِ. | ٣ 3 |
May not you give to women strength your and ways your to wiping out kings.
| لَيْسَ لِلْمُلُوكِ يَا لَمُوئِيلُ، لَيْسَ لِلْمُلُوكِ أَنْ يَشْرَبُوا خَمْرًا، وَلَا لِلْعُظَمَاءِ ٱلْمُسْكِرُ. | ٤ 4 |
May not [it be] for kings - O Lemuel may not [it be] for kings to drink wine and for rulers (where? *Q(K)*) strong drink.
| لِئَلَّا يَشْرَبُوا وَيَنْسَوْا ٱلْمَفْرُوضَ، وَيُغَيِّرُوا حُجَّةَ كُلِّ بَنِي ٱلْمَذَلَّةِ. | ٥ 5 |
Lest he should drink and he may forget [what] is decreed and he may change [the] cause of all [the] sons of affliction.
| أَعْطُوا مُسْكِرًا لِهَالِكٍ، وَخَمْرًا لِمُرِّي ٱلنَّفْسِ. | ٦ 6 |
Give strong drink to [one who] is perishing and wine to [people] bitter of soul.
| يَشْرَبُ وَيَنْسَى فَقْرَهُ، وَلَا يَذْكُرُ تَعَبَهُ بَعْدُ. | ٧ 7 |
He will drink and he may forget poverty his and trouble his not he will remember again.
| اِفْتَحْ فَمَكَ لِأَجْلِ ٱلْأَخْرَسِ فِي دَعْوَى كُلِّ يَتِيمٍ. | ٨ 8 |
Open mouth your for [the] dumb to [the] cause of all [the] sons of passing away.
| اِفْتَحْ فَمَكَ. ٱقْضِ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَحَامِ عَنِ ٱلْفَقِيرِ وَٱلْمِسْكِينِ. | ٩ 9 |
Open mouth your judge righteousness and plead [the] cause of [the] poor and [the] needy.
| اِمْرَأَةٌ فَاضِلَةٌ مَنْ يَجِدُهَا؟ لِأَنَّ ثَمَنَهَا يَفُوقُ ٱللَّآلِئَ. | ١٠ 10 |
A wife of ability who? will he find and [is] far more than jewels price her.
| بِهَا يَثِقُ قَلْبُ زَوْجِهَا فَلَا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى غَنِيمَةٍ. | ١١ 11 |
It trusts in her [the] heart of husband her and gain not he lacks.
| تَصْنَعُ لَهُ خَيْرًا لَا شَرًّا كُلَّ أَيَّامِ حَيَاتِهَا. | ١٢ 12 |
She feeds him good and not evil all [the] days of life her.
| تَطْلُبُ صُوفًا وَكَتَّانًا وَتَشْتَغِلُ بِيَدَيْنِ رَاضِيَتَيْنِ. | ١٣ 13 |
She seeks wool and flax and she worked in [the] delight of hands her.
| هِيَ كَسُفُنِ ٱلتَّاجِرِ. تَجْلِبُ طَعَامَهَا مِنْ بَعِيدٍ. | ١٤ 14 |
She is like [the] ships of a trader from a distance she brings food her.
| وَتَقُومُ إِذِ ٱللَّيْلُ بَعْدُ وَتُعْطِي أَكْلًا لِأَهْلِ بَيْتِهَا وَفَرِيضَةً لِفَتَيَاتِهَا. | ١٥ 15 |
And she rose - when still night and she gave food to household her and an allotted portion to female servants her.
| تَتَأَمَّلُ حَقْلًا فَتَأْخُذُهُ، وَبِثَمَرِ يَدَيْهَا تَغْرِسُ كَرْمًا. | ١٦ 16 |
She considers a field and she took it from [the] fruit of hands her (she plants *Q(K)*) a vineyard.
| تُنَطِّقُ حَقَوَيْهَا بِٱلْقُوَّةِ وَتُشَدِّدُ ذِرَاعَيْهَا. | ١٧ 17 |
She girds with strength loins her and she strengthened arms her.
| تَشْعُرُ أَنَّ تِجَارَتَهَا جَيِّدَةٌ. سِرَاجُهَا لَا يَنْطَفِئُ فِي ٱللَّيْلِ. | ١٨ 18 |
She perceives that [is] good profit her not it is extinguished (in the night *Q(K)*) lamp her.
| تَمُدُّ يَدَيْهَا إِلَى ٱلْمِغْزَلِ، وَتُمْسِكُ كَفَّاهَا بِٱلْفَلْكَةِ. | ١٩ 19 |
Hands her she stretches out on the distaff and palms her they grasp [the] spindle.
| تَبْسُطُ كَفَّيْهَا لِلْفَقِيرِ، وَتَمُدُّ يَدَيْهَا إِلَى ٱلْمِسْكِينِ. | ٢٠ 20 |
Palm her she spreads out to poor [person] and hands her she stretches out to the needy [person].
| لَا تَخْشَى عَلَى بَيْتِهَا مِنَ ٱلثَّلْجِ، لِأَنَّ كُلَّ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهَا لَابِسُونَ حُلَلًا. | ٢١ 21 |
Not she is afraid for household her from snow for all household her [is] clothed scarlet.
| تَعْمَلُ لِنَفْسِهَا مُوَشَّيَاتٍ. لِبْسُهَا بُوصٌ وَأُرْجُوانٌ. | ٢٢ 22 |
Coverings she makes for herself [is] fine linen and purple clothing her.
| زَوْجُهَا مَعْرُوفٌ فِي ٱلْأَبْوَابِ حِينَ يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ مَشَايخِ ٱلْأَرْضِ. | ٢٣ 23 |
[is] known In the gates husband her when sits he with [the] elders of [the] land.
| تَصْنَعُ قُمْصَانًا وَتَبِيعُهَا، وَتَعْرِضُ مَنَاطِقَ عَلَى ٱلْكَنْعَانِيِّ. | ٢٤ 24 |
Linen garment[s] she makes and she sold and a belt she supplies to the merchants.
| اَلْعِزُّ وَٱلْبَهَاءُ لِبَاسُهَا، وَتَضْحَكُ عَلَى ٱلزَّمَنِ ٱلْآتِي. | ٢٥ 25 |
[is] strength And honor clothing her and she laughed to a day future.
| تَفْتَحُ فَمَهَا بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ، وَفِي لِسَانِهَا سُنَّةُ ٱلْمَعْرُوفِ. | ٢٦ 26 |
Mouth her she opens with wisdom and instruction of loyalty [is] on tongue her.
| تُرَاقِبُ طُرُقَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهَا، وَلَا تَأْكُلُ خُبْزَ ٱلْكَسَلِ. | ٢٧ 27 |
[she is] watching over [the] ways of Household her and [the] bread of laziness not she eats.
| يَقُومُ أَوْلَادُهَا وَيُطَوِّبُونَهَا. زَوْجُهَا أَيْضًا فَيَمْدَحُهَا: | ٢٨ 28 |
They rise up sons her and they called blessed her husband her and he praised her.
| «بَنَاتٌ كَثِيرَاتٌ عَمِلْنَ فَضْلًا، أَمَّا أَنْتِ فَفُقْتِ عَلَيْهِنَّ جَمِيعًا». | ٢٩ 29 |
Many daughters they have done ability and you you have gone up above all of them.
| اَلْحُسْنُ غِشٌّ وَٱلْجَمَالُ بَاطِلٌ، أَمَّا ٱلْمَرْأَةُ ٱلْمُتَّقِيَةُ ٱلرَّبَّ فَهِيَ تُمْدَحُ. | ٣٠ 30 |
[is] deception Grace and [is] vanity beauty a woman fearing Yahweh she she will be praised.
| أَعْطُوهَا مِنْ ثَمَرِ يَدَيْهَا، وَلْتَمْدَحْهَا أَعْمَالُهَا فِي ٱلْأَبْوَابِ. | ٣١ 31 |
Give to her some of [the] fruit of hands her and let them praise her in the gates work her.
