< أَمْثَالٌ 17 >
لُقْمَةٌ يَابِسَةٌ وَمَعَهَا سَلَامَةٌ، خَيْرٌ مِنْ بَيْتٍ مَلآنٍ ذَبَائِحَ مَعَ خِصَامٍ. | ١ 1 |
pleasant morsel dry and ease in/on/with her from house: home full sacrifice strife
اَلْعَبْدُ ٱلْفَطِنُ يَتَسَلَّطُ عَلَى ٱلِٱبْنِ ٱلْمُخْزِي وَيُقَاسِمُ ٱلْإِخْوَةَ ٱلْمِيرَاثَ. | ٢ 2 |
servant/slave be prudent to rule in/on/with son: child be ashamed and in/on/with midst brother: male-sibling to divide inheritance
ٱلْبُوطَةُ لِلْفِضَّةِ، وَٱلْكُورُ لِلذَّهَبِ، وَمُمْتَحِنُ ٱلْقُلُوبِ ٱلرَّبُّ. | ٣ 3 |
crucible to/for silver: money and furnace to/for gold and to test heart LORD
ٱلْفَاعِلُ ٱلشَّرَّ يَصْغَى إِلَى شَفَةِ ٱلْإِثْمِ، وَٱلْكَاذِبُ يَأْذَنُ لِلِسَانِ فَسَادٍ. | ٤ 4 |
be evil to listen upon lips evil: wickedness deception to listen upon tongue desire
ٱلْمُسْتَهْزِئُ بِٱلْفَقِيرِ يُعَيِّرُ خَالِقَهُ. ٱلْفَرْحَانُ بِبَلِيَّةٍ لَا يَتَبَرَّأُ. | ٥ 5 |
to mock to/for be poor to taunt to make him glad to/for calamity not to clear
تَاجُ ٱلشُّيُوخِ بَنُو ٱلْبَنِينَ، وَفَخْرُ ٱلْبَنِينَ آبَاؤُهُمْ. | ٦ 6 |
crown old son: descendant/people son: descendant/people and beauty son: child father their
لَا تَلِيقُ بِٱلْأَحْمَقِ شَفَةُ ٱلسُّودَدِ. كَمْ بِٱلْأَحْرَى شَفَةُ ٱلْكَذِبِ بِٱلشَّرِيفِ! | ٧ 7 |
not lovely to/for foolish lip: words remainder also for to/for noble lip: words deception
ٱلْهَدِيَّةُ حَجَرٌ كَرِيمٌ فِي عَيْنَيْ قَابِلِهَا، حَيْثُمَا تَتَوَجَّهْ تُفْلِحْ. | ٨ 8 |

مَنْ يَسْتُرْ مَعْصِيَةً يَطْلُبِ ٱلْمَحَبَّةَ، وَمَنْ يُكَرِّرْ أَمْرًا يُفَرِّقْ بَيْنَ ٱلْأَصْدِقَاءِ. | ٩ 9 |
to cover transgression to seek love and to repeat in/on/with word: thing to separate tame
اَلِٱنْتِهَارُ يُؤَثِّرُ فِي ٱلْحَكِيمِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ مِئَةِ جَلْدَةٍ فِي ٱلْجَاهِلِ. | ١٠ 10 |
to descend rebuke in/on/with to understand from to smite fool hundred
اَلشِّرِّيرُ إِنَّمَا يَطْلُبُ ٱلتَّمَرُّدَ فَيُطْلَقُ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولٌ قَاسٍ. | ١١ 11 |
surely rebellion to seek bad: evil and messenger cruel to send: depart in/on/with him
لِيُصَادِفِ ٱلْإِنْسَانَ دُبَّةٌ ثَكُولٌ وَلَا جَاهِلٌ فِي حَمَاقَتِهِ. | ١٢ 12 |
to meet bear childless in/on/with man and not fool in/on/with folly his
مَنْ يُجَازِي عَنْ خَيْرٍ بِشَرٍّ لَنْ يَبْرَحَ ٱلشَّرُّ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ. | ١٣ 13 |
to return: return distress: evil underneath: instead welfare not (to remove *Q(k)*) distress: evil from house: home his
اِبْتِدَاءُ ٱلْخِصَامِ إِطْلَاقُ ٱلْمَاءِ، فَقَبْلَ أَنْ تَدْفُقَ ٱلْمُخَاصَمَةُ ٱتْرُكْهَا. | ١٤ 14 |
to separate water first: beginning strife and to/for face: before to quarrel [the] strife to leave
مُبَرِّئُ ٱلْمُذْنِبَ وَمُذَنِّبُ ٱلْبَرِيءَ كِلَاهُمَا مَكْرَهَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ. | ١٥ 15 |
to justify wicked and be wicked righteous abomination LORD also two their
لِمَاذَا فِي يَدِ ٱلْجَاهِلِ ثَمَنٌ؟ أَلِٱقْتِنَاءِ ٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ فَهْمٌ؟ | ١٦ 16 |
to/for what? this price in/on/with hand fool to/for to buy wisdom and heart nothing
اَلصَّدِيقُ يُحِبُّ فِي كُلِّ وَقْتٍ، أَمَّا ٱلْأَخُ فَلِلشِّدَّةِ يُولَدُ. | ١٧ 17 |

اَلْإِنْسَانُ ٱلنَّاقِصُ ٱلْفَهْمِ يَصْفِقُ كَفًّا وَيَضْمَنُ صَاحِبَهُ ضَمَانًا. | ١٨ 18 |
man lacking heart to blow palm to pledge pledge to/for face neighbor his
مُحِبُّ ٱلْمَعْصِيَةِ مُحِبُّ ٱلْخِصَامِ. ٱلْمُعَلِّي بَابَهُ يَطْلُبُ ٱلْكَسْرَ. | ١٩ 19 |
to love: lover transgression to love: lover strife to exult entrance his to seek breaking
ٱلْمُلْتَوِي ٱلْقَلْبِ لَا يَجِدُ خَيْرًا، وَٱلْمُتَقَلِّبُ ٱللِّسَانِ يَقَعُ فِي ٱلسُّوءِ. | ٢٠ 20 |
twisted heart not to find good and to overturn in/on/with tongue his to fall: fall in/on/with distress: harm
مَنْ يَلِدُ جَاهِلًا فَلِحَزَنِهِ، وَلَا يَفْرَحُ أَبُو ٱلْأَحْمَقِ. | ٢١ 21 |
to beget fool to/for grief to/for him and not to rejoice father foolish
ٱلْقَلْبُ ٱلْفَرْحَانُ يُطَيِّبُ ٱلْجِسْمَ، وَٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْمُنْسَحِقَةُ تُجَفِّفُ ٱلْعَظْمَ. | ٢٢ 22 |
heart glad be good cure and spirit stricken to wither bone
ٱلشِّرِّيرُ يَأْخُذُ ٱلرَّشْوَةَ مِنَ ٱلْحِضْنِ لِيُعَوِّجَ طُرُقَ ٱلْقَضَاءِ. | ٢٣ 23 |
bribe from bosom: secret wicked to take: recieve to/for to stretch way justice
ٱلْحِكْمَةُ عِنْدَ ٱلْفَهِيمِ، وَعَيْنَا ٱلْجَاهِلِ فِي أَقْصَى ٱلْأَرْضِ. | ٢٤ 24 |
with face to understand wisdom and eye fool in/on/with end land: country/planet
ٱلِٱبْنُ ٱلْجَاهِلُ غَمٌّ لِأَبِيهِ، وَمَرَارَةٌ لِلَّتِي وَلَدَتْهُ. | ٢٥ 25 |
vexation to/for father his son: child fool and bitterness to/for to beget him
أَيْضًا تَغْرِيمُ ٱلْبَرِيءِ لَيْسَ بِحَسَنٍ، وَكَذَلِكَ ضَرْبُ ٱلشُّرَفَاءِ لِأَجْلِ ٱلِٱسْتِقَامَةِ. | ٢٦ 26 |
also to fine to/for righteous not pleasant to/for to smite noble upon uprightness
ذُو ٱلْمَعْرِفَةِ يُبْقِي كَلَامَهُ، وَذُو ٱلْفَهْمِ وَقُورُ ٱلرُّوحِ. | ٢٧ 27 |
to withhold word his to know knowledge (precious *Q(K)*) spirit: temper man understanding
بَلِ ٱلْأَحْمَقُ إِذَا سَكَتَ يُحْسَبُ حَكِيمًا، وَمَنْ ضَمَّ شَفَتَيْهِ فَهِيمًا. | ٢٨ 28 |
