مَرَاثِي إِرْمِيَا 3

١ 1 أَنَا هُوَ ٱلرَّجُلُ ٱلَّذِي رأَى مَذَلَّةً بِقَضِيبِ سَخَطِهِ.

I [the] great man to see: see affliction in/on/with tribe: staff fury his

٢ 2 قَادَنِي وَسَيَّرَنِي فِي ٱلظَّلَامِ وَلَا نُورَ.

[obj] me to lead and to go: take darkness and not light

٣ 3 حَقًّا إِنَّهُ يَعُودُ وَيَرُدُّ عَلَيَّ يَدَهُ ٱلْيَوْمَ كُلَّهُ.

surely in/on/with me to return: return to overturn hand his all [the] day

٤ 4 أَبْلَى لَحْمِي وَجِلْدِي. كَسَّرَ عِظَامِي.

to become old flesh my and skin my to break bone my

٥ 5 بَنَى عَلَيَّ وَأَحَاطَنِي بِعَلْقَمٍ وَمَشَقَّةٍ.

to build upon me and to surround poison and hardship

٦ 6 أَسْكَنَنِي فِي ظُلُمَاتٍ كَمَوْتَى ٱلْقِدَمِ.

in/on/with darkness to dwell me like/as to die forever: antiquity

٧ 7 سَيَّجَ عَلَيَّ فَلَا أَسْتَطِيعُ ٱلْخُرُوجَ. ثَقَّلَ سِلْسِلَتِي.

to wall up/off about/through/for me and not to come out: come to honor: heavy bronze my

٨ 8 أَيْضًا حِينَ أَصْرُخُ وَأَسْتَغِيثُ يَصُدُّ صَلَاتِي.

also for to cry out and to cry to stopper prayer my

٩ 9 سَيَّجَ طُرُقِي بِحِجَارَةٍ مَنْحُوتَةٍ. قَلَبَ سُبُلِي.

to wall up/off way: road my in/on/with cutting path my to twist

١٠ 10 هُوَ لِي دُبٌّ كَامِنٌ، أَسَدٌ فِي مَخَابِىءَ.

bear to ambush he/she/it to/for me (lion *Q(K)*) in/on/with hiding

١١ 11 مَيَّلَ طُرُقِي وَمَزَّقَنِي. جَعَلَنِي خَرَابًا.

way: journey my to turn aside: turn aside and to tear me to set: make me devastated

١٢ 12 مَدَّ قَوْسَهُ وَنَصَبَنِي كَغَرَضٍ لِلسَّهْمِ.

to tread (bow his *L(abh)*) and to stand me like/as guardhouse to/for arrow

١٣ 13 أَدْخَلَ فِي كُلْيَتَيَّ نِبَالَ جُعْبَتِهِ.

to come (in): bring in/on/with kidney my son: type of quiver his

١٤ 14 صِرْتُ ضُحْكَةً لِكُلِّ شَعْبِي، وَأُغْنِيَةً لَهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ كُلَّهُ.

to be laughter to/for all people my music their all [the] day

١٥ 15 أَشْبَعَنِي مَرَائِرَ وَأَرْوَانِي أَفْسَنْتِينًا،

to satisfy me in/on/with bitterness to quench me wormwood

١٦ 16 وَجَرَشَ بِٱلْحَصَى أَسْنَانِي. كَبَسَنِي بِٱلرَّمَادِ.

and to break in/on/with gravel tooth my to cower me in/on/with ashes

١٧ 17 وَقَدْ أَبْعَدْتَ عَنِ ٱلسَّلَامِ نَفْسِي. نَسِيتُ ٱلْخَيْرَ.

and to reject from peace soul my to forget welfare

١٨ 18 وَقُلْتُ: «بَادَتْ ثِقَتِي وَرَجَائِي مِنَ ٱلرَّبِّ».

and to say to perish perpetuity my and hope my from LORD

١٩ 19 ذِكْرُ مَذَلَّتِي وَتَيَهَانِي أَفْسَنْتِينٌ وَعَلْقَمٌ.

to remember affliction my and wandering my wormwood and poison

٢٠ 20 ذِكْرًا تَذْكُرُ نَفْسِي وَتَنْحَنِي فِيَّ.

to remember to remember (and to sink *Q(K)*) upon me soul my

٢١ 21 أُرَدِّدُ هَذَا فِي قَلْبِي، مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ أَرْجُو:

this to return: recall to(wards) heart my upon so to wait: hope

٢٢ 22 إِنَّهُ مِنْ إِحْسَانَاتِ ٱلرَّبِّ أَنَّنَا لَمْ نَفْنَ، لِأَنَّ مَرَاحِمَهُ لَا تَزُولُ.

kindness LORD for not to finish for not to end: finish compassion his

٢٣ 23 هِيَ جَدِيدَةٌ فِي كُلِّ صَبَاحٍ. كَثِيرَةٌ أَمَانَتُكَ.

new to/for morning many faithfulness your

٢٤ 24 نَصِيبِي هُوَ ٱلرَّبُّ، قَالَتْ نَفْسِي، مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ أَرْجُوهُ.

portion my LORD to say soul my upon so to wait: hope to/for him

٢٥ 25 طَيِّبٌ هُوَ ٱلرَّبُّ لِلَّذِينَ يَتَرَجَّوْنَهُ، لِلنَّفْسِ ٱلَّتِي تَطْلُبُهُ.

pleasant LORD (to/for to await him *Q(K)*) to/for soul to seek him

٢٦ 26 جَيِّدٌ أَنْ يَنْتَظِرَ ٱلْإِنْسَانُ وَيَتَوَقَّعَ بِسُكُوتٍ خَلَاصَ ٱلرَّبِّ.

pleasant and waiting and silence to/for deliverance: salvation LORD

٢٧ 27 جَيِّدٌ لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يَحْمِلَ ٱلنِّيرَ فِي صِبَاهُ.

pleasant to/for great man for to lift: bear yoke in/on/with youth his

٢٨ 28 يَجْلِسُ وَحْدَهُ وَيَسْكُتُ، لِأَنَّهُ قَدْ وَضَعَهُ عَلَيْهِ.

to dwell isolation and to silence: silent for to lift upon him

٢٩ 29 يَجْعَلُ فِي ٱلتُّرَابِ فَمَهُ لَعَلَّهُ يُوجَدُ رَجَاءٌ.

to give: put in/on/with dust lip his perhaps there hope

٣٠ 30 يُعْطِي خَدَّهُ لِضَارِبِهِ. يَشْبَعُ عَارًا.

to give: give to/for to smite him jaw to satisfy in/on/with reproach

٣١ 31 لِأَنَّ ٱلسَّيِّدَ لَا يَرْفُضُ إِلَى ٱلْأَبَدِ.

for not to reject to/for forever: enduring Lord

٣٢ 32 فَإِنَّهُ وَلَوْ أَحْزَنَ يَرْحَمُ حَسَبَ كَثْرَةِ مَرَاحِمِهِ.

that if: except if: except to suffer and to have compassion like/as abundance (kindness his *Q(K)*)

٣٣ 33 لِأَنَّهُ لَا يُذِلُّ مِنْ قَلْبِهِ، وَلَا يُحْزِنُ بَنِي ٱلْإِنْسَانِ.

for not to afflict from heart his and to suffer (son: child *L(abh)*) man

٣٤ 34 أَنْ يَدُوسَ أَحَدٌ تَحْتَ رِجْلَيْهِ كُلَّ أَسْرَى ٱلْأَرْضِ،

to/for to crush underneath: under foot his all prisoner land: country/planet

٣٥ 35 أَنْ يُحَرِّفَ حَقَّ ٱلرَّجُلِ أَمَامَ وَجْهِ ٱلْعَلِيِّ،

to/for to stretch justice great man before face Most High

٣٦ 36 أَنْ يَقْلِبَ ٱلْإِنْسَانَ فِي دَعْوَاهُ. ٱلسَّيِّدُ لَا يَرَى!

to/for to pervert man in/on/with strife his Lord not to see: select

٣٧ 37 مَنْ ذَا ٱلَّذِي يَقُولُ فَيَكُونَ وَٱلرَّبُّ لَمْ يَأْمُرْ؟

who? this to say and to be Lord not to command

٣٨ 38 مِنْ فَمِ ٱلْعَلِيِّ أَلَا تَخْرُجُ ٱلشُّرُورُ وَٱلْخَيْرُ؟

from lip Most High not to come out: come [the] distress: harm and [the] pleasant

٣٩ 39 لِمَاذَا يَشْتَكِي ٱلْإِنْسَانُ ٱلْحَيُّ، ٱلرَّجُلُ مِنْ قِصَاصِ خَطَايَاهُ؟

what? to complain man alive great man upon (sin his *Q(K)*)

٤٠ 40 لِنَفْحَصْ طُرُقَنَا وَنَمْتَحِنْهَا وَنَرْجِعْ إِلَى ٱلرَّبِّ.

to search way: conduct our and to search and to return: return till LORD

٤١ 41 لِنَرْفَعْ قُلُوبَنَا وَأَيْدِيَنَا إِلَى ٱللهِ فِي ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ:

to lift: trust heart our to(wards) palm to(wards) God in/on/with heaven

٤٢ 42 «نَحْنُ أَذْنَبْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا. أَنْتَ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ.

we to transgress and to rebel you(m. s.) not to forgive

٤٣ 43 ٱلْتَحَفْتَ بِٱلْغَضَبِ وَطَرَدْتَنَا. قَتَلْتَ وَلَمْ تَشْفِقْ.

to cover in/on/with face: anger and to pursue us to kill not to spare

٤٤ 44 ٱلْتَحَفْتَ بِٱلسَّحَابِ حَتَّى لَا تَنْفُذَ ٱلصَّلَاةُ.

to cover in/on/with cloud to/for you from to pass prayer

٤٥ 45 جَعَلْتَنَا وَسَخًا وَكَرْهًا فِي وَسَطِ ٱلشُّعُوبِ.

offscouring and refuse to set: make us in/on/with entrails: among [the] people

٤٦ 46 فَتَحَ كُلُّ أَعْدَائِنَا أَفْوَاهَهُمْ عَلَيْنَا.

to open upon us lip their all enemy our

٤٧ 47 صَارَ عَلَيْنَا خَوْفٌ وَرُعْبٌ، هَلَاكٌ وَسَحْقٌ».

dread and pit to be to/for us [the] devastation and [the] breaking

٤٨ 48 سَكَبَتْ عَيْنَايَ يَنَابِيعَ مَاءٍ عَلَى سَحْقِ بِنْتِ شَعْبِي.

stream water to go down eye my upon breaking daughter people my

٤٩ 49 عَيْنِي تَسْكُبُ وَلَا تَكُفُّ بِلَا ٱنْقِطَاعٍ

eye my to pour and not to cease from nothing cessation

٥٠ 50 حَتَّى يُشْرِفَ وَيَنْظُرَ ٱلرَّبُّ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاءِ.

till to look and to see: see LORD from heaven

٥١ 51 عَيْنِي تُؤَثِّرُ فِي نَفْسِي لِأَجْلِ كُلِّ بَنَاتِ مَدِينَتِي.

eye my to abuse to/for soul: myself my from all daughter city my

٥٢ 52 قَدِ ٱصْطَادَتْنِي أَعْدَائِي كَعُصْفُورٍ بِلَا سَبَبٍ.

to hunt to hunt me like/as bird enemy my for nothing

٥٣ 53 قَرَضُوا فِي ٱلْجُبِّ حَيَاتِي وَأَلْقَوْا عَلَيَّ حِجَارَةً.

to destroy in/on/with pit life my and to give thanks stone in/on/with me

٥٤ 54 طَفَتِ ٱلْمِيَاهُ فَوْقَ رَأْسِي. قُلْتُ: «قَدْ قُرِضْتُ!».

to flow water upon head my to say to cut

٥٥ 55 دَعَوْتُ بِٱسْمِكَ يَارَبُّ مِنَ ٱلْجُبِّ ٱلْأَسْفَلِ.

to call: call to name your LORD from pit lower

٥٦ 56 لِصَوْتِي سَمِعْتَ: «لَا تَسْتُرْ أُذُنَكَ عَنْ زَفْرَتِي، عَنْ صِيَاحِي».

voice my to hear: hear not to conceal ear your to/for relief my to/for cry my

٥٧ 57 دَنَوْتَ يَوْمَ دَعَوْتُكَ. قُلْتَ: «لَا تَخَفْ!».

to present: come in/on/with day to call: call to you to say not to fear

٥٨ 58 خَاصَمْتَ يَا سَيِّدُ خُصُومَاتِ نَفْسِي. فَكَكْتَ حَيَاتِي.

to contend Lord strife soul: myself my to redeem: redeem life my

٥٩ 59 رَأَيْتَ يَارَبُّ ظُلْمِي. أَقِمْ دَعْوَايَ.

to see: see LORD oppression my to judge [emph?] justice my

٦٠ 60 رَأَيْتَ كُلَّ نَقْمَتِهِمْ، كُلَّ أَفْكَارِهِمْ عَلَيَّ.

to see: see all vengeance their all plot their to/for me

٦١ 61 سَمِعْتَ تَعْيِيرَهُمْ يَارَبُّ، كُلَّ أَفْكَارِهِمْ عَلَيَّ.

to hear: hear reproach their LORD all plot their upon me

٦٢ 62 كَلَامُ مُقَاوِمِيَّ وَمُؤَامَرَتُهُمْ عَلَيَّ ٱلْيَوْمَ كُلَّهُ.

lips to arise: attack me and meditation their upon me all [the] day

٦٣ 63 اُنْظُرْ إِلَى جُلُوسِهِمْ وَوُقُوفِهِمْ، أَنَا أُغْنِيَتُهُمْ!

seat their and rising their to look [emph?] I mocking their

٦٤ 64 رُدَّ لَهُمْ جَزَاءً يَارَبُّ حَسَبَ عَمَلِ أَيَادِيهِمْ.

to return: pay to/for them recompense LORD like/as deed: work hand their

٦٥ 65 أَعْطِهِمْ غِشَاوَةَ قَلْبٍ، لَعْنَتَكَ لَهُمْ.

to give: give to/for them covering heart curse your to/for them

٦٦ 66 اِتْبَعْ بِٱلْغَضَبِ وَأَهْلِكْهُمْ مِنْ تَحْتِ سَمَاوَاتِ ٱلرَّبِّ.

to pursue in/on/with face: anger and to destroy them from underneath: under heaven LORD
