أَيُّوبَ 3

١ 1 بَعْدَ هَذَا فَتَحَ أَيُّوبُ فَاهُ وَسَبَّ يَوْمَهُ،

after so to open Job [obj] lip his and to lighten [obj] day his

٢ 2 وَأَخَذَ أَيُّوبُ يَتَكَلَّمُ فَقَالَ:

and to answer Job and to say

٣ 3 «لَيْتَهُ هَلَكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلَّذِي وُلِدْتُ فِيهِ، وَٱللَّيْلُ ٱلَّذِي قَالَ: قَدْ حُبِلَ بِرَجُلٍ.

to perish day to beget in/on/with him and [the] night to say to conceive great man

٤ 4 لِيَكُنْ ذَلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ظَلَامًا. لَا يَعْتَنِ بِهِ ٱللهُ مِنْ فَوْقُ، وَلَا يُشْرِقْ عَلَيْهِ نَهَارٌ.

[the] day [the] he/she/it to be darkness not to seek him god from above and not to shine upon him light

٥ 5 لِيَمْلِكْهُ ٱلظَّلَامُ وَظِلُّ ٱلْمَوْتِ. لِيَحُلَّ عَلَيْهِ سَحَابٌ. لِتَرْعَبْهُ كَاسِفَاتُ ٱلنَّهَارِ.

to redeem: redeem him darkness and shadow to dwell upon him cloud to terrify him darkness day

٦ 6 أَمَّا ذَلِكَ ٱللَّيْلُ فَلْيُمْسِكْهُ ٱلدُّجَى، وَلَا يَفْرَحْ بَيْنَ أَيَّامِ ٱلسَّنَةِ، وَلَا يَدْخُلَنَّ فِي عَدَدِ ٱلشُّهُورِ.

[the] night [the] he/she/it to take: take him darkness not to rejoice in/on/with day year in/on/with number month not to come (in): come

٧ 7 هُوَذَا ذَلِكَ ٱللَّيْلُ لِيَكُنْ عَاقِرًا، لَا يُسْمَعْ فِيهِ هُتَافٌ.

behold [the] night [the] he/she/it to be solitary not to come (in): come triumphing in/on/with him

٨ 8 لِيَلْعَنْهُ لَاعِنُو ٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمُسْتَعِدُّونَ لِإِيقَاظِ ٱلتِّنِّينِ.

to curse him to curse day [the] ready to rouse Leviathan

٩ 9 لِتُظْلِمْ نُجُومُ عِشَائِهِ. لِيَنْتَظِرِ ٱلنُّورَ وَلَا يَكُنْ، وَلَا يَرَ هُدُبَ ٱلصُّبْحِ،

to darken star twilight his to await to/for light and nothing and not to see: see in/on/with eyelid dawn

١٠ 10 لِأَنَّهُ لَمْ يُغْلِقْ أَبْوَابَ بَطْنِ أُمِّي، وَلَمْ يَسْتُرِ ٱلشَّقَاوَةَ عَنْ عَيْنَيَّ.

for not to shut door belly: womb my and to hide trouble from eye my

١١ 11 لِمَ لَمْ أَمُتْ مِنَ ٱلرَّحِمِ؟ عِنْدَمَا خَرَجْتُ مِنَ ٱلْبَطْنِ، لِمَ لَمْ أُسْلِمِ ٱلرُّوحَ؟

to/for what? not from womb to die from belly: womb to come out: produce and to die

١٢ 12 لِمَاذَا أَعَانَتْنِي ٱلرُّكَبُ، وَلِمَ ٱلثُّدِيُّ حَتَّى أَرْضَعَ؟

why? to meet me knee and what? breast for to suckle

١٣ 13 لِأَنِّي قَدْ كُنْتُ ٱلْآنَ مُضْطَجِعًا سَاكِنًا. حِينَئِذٍ كُنْتُ نِمْتُ مُسْتَرِيحًا

for now to lie down: lay down and to quiet to sleep then to rest to/for me

١٤ 14 مَعَ مُلُوكٍ وَمُشِيرِي ٱلْأَرْضِ، ٱلَّذِينَ بَنَوْا أَهْرَامًا لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ،

with king and to advise land: country/planet [the] to build desolation to/for them

١٥ 15 أَوْ مَعَ رُؤَسَاءَ لَهُمْ ذَهَبٌ، ٱلْمَالِئِينَ بُيُوتَهُمْ فِضَّةً،

or with ruler gold to/for them [the] to fill house: home their silver: money

١٦ 16 أَوْ كَسِقْطٍ مَطْمُورٍ فَلَمْ أَكُنْ، كَأَجِنَّةٍ لَمْ يَرَوْا نُورًا.

or like/as miscarriage to hide not to be like/as infant not to see: see light

١٧ 17 هُنَاكَ يَكُفُّ ٱلْمُنَافِقُونَ عَنِ ٱلشَّغْبِ، وَهُنَاكَ يَسْتَرِيحُ ٱلْمُتْعَبُونَ.

there wicked to cease turmoil and there to rest weary strength

١٨ 18 ٱلْأَسْرَى يَطْمَئِنُّونَ جَمِيعًا، لَا يَسْمَعُونَ صَوْتَ ٱلْمُسَخِّرِ.

unitedness prisoner to rest not to hear: hear voice to oppress

١٩ 19 ٱلصَّغِيرُ كَمَا ٱلْكَبِيرُ هُنَاكَ، وَٱلْعَبْدُ حُرٌّ مِنْ سَيِّدِهِ.

small and great: large there he/she/it and servant/slave free from lord his

٢٠ 20 «لِمَ يُعْطَى لِشَقِيٍّ نُورٌ، وَحَيَاةٌ لِمُرِّي ٱلنَّفْسِ؟

to/for what? to give: give to/for labour(er) light and life to/for bitter soul

٢١ 21 ٱلَّذِينَ يَنْتَظِرُونَ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَلَيْسَ هُوَ، وَيَحْفُرُونَ عَلَيْهِ أَكْثَرَ مِنَ ٱلْكُنُوزِ،

[the] to wait to/for death and nothing he and to search him from treasure

٢٢ 22 ٱلْمَسْرُورِينَ إِلَى أَنْ يَبْتَهِجُوا، ٱلْفَرِحِينَ عِنْدَمَا يَجِدُونَ قَبْرًا!

[the] glad to(wards) rejoicing to rejoice for to find grave

٢٣ 23 لِرَجُلٍ قَدْ خَفِيَ عَلَيْهِ طَرِيقُهُ، وَقَدْ سَيَّجَ ٱللهُ حَوْلَهُ.

to/for great man which way: journey his to hide and to fence god about/through/for him

٢٤ 24 لِأَنَّهُ مِثْلَ خُبْزِي يَأْتِي أَنِينِي، وَمِثْلَ ٱلْمِيَاهِ تَنْسَكِبُ زَفْرَتِي،

for to/for face: before food: bread my sighing my to come (in): come and to pour like/as water roaring my

٢٥ 25 لِأَنِّي ٱرْتِعَابًا ٱرْتَعَبْتُ فَأَتَانِي، وَٱلَّذِي فَزِعْتُ مِنْهُ جَاءَ عَلَيَّ.

for dread to dread and to come me and which to fear to come (in): come to/for me

٢٦ 26 لَمْ أَطْمَئِنَّ وَلَمْ أَسْكُنْ وَلَمْ أَسْتَرِحْ، وَقَدْ جَاءَ ٱلرُّجْزُ».

not to prosper and not to quiet and not to rest and to come (in): come turmoil
