أَيُّوبَ 18
| فَأَجَابَ بِلْدَدُ ٱلشُّوحِيُّ وَقَالَ: | ١ 1 |
Then Bildad the Shuhite spoke up and said,
| «إِلَى مَتَى تَضَعُونَ أَشْرَاكًا لِلْكَلَامِ؟ تَعَقَّلُوا وَبَعْدُ نَتَكَلَّمُ. | ٢ 2 |
“How long will you go on talking, hunting for the right words to say? Talk sense if you want us to reply!
| لِمَاذَا حُسِبْنَا كَٱلْبَهِيمَةِ، وَتَنَجَّسْنَا فِي عُيُونِكُمْ؟ | ٣ 3 |
Do you think we're dumb animals? Do we look stupid to you?
| يَا أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُفْتَرِسُ نَفْسَهُ فِي غَيْظِهِ، هَلْ لِأَجْلِكَ تُخْلَى ٱلْأَرْضُ، أَوْ يُزَحْزَحُ ٱلصَّخْرُ مِنْ مَكَانِهِ؟ | ٤ 4 |
You tear yourself apart with your anger. Do you think the earth has to be abandoned, or the mountains moved, just because of you?
| «نَعَمْ! نُورُ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ يَنْطَفِئُ، وَلَا يُضِيءُ لَهِيبُ نَارِهِ. | ٥ 5 |
It's certain that the life of the wicked will end like a lamp that is snuffed out—their flame will shine no more.
| ٱلنُّورُ يُظْلِمُ فِي خَيْمَتِهِ، وَسِرَاجُهُ فَوْقَهُ يَنْطَفِئُ. | ٦ 6 |
The light in their home goes out, the lamp hanging above is extinguished.
| تَقْصُرُ خَطَوَاتُ قُوَّتِهِ، وَتَصْرَعُهُ مَشُورَتُهُ. | ٧ 7 |
Instead of taking strong strides they stumble, and their own plans cause them to fall.
| لِأَنَّ رِجْلَيْهِ تَدْفَعَانِهِ فِي ٱلْمِصْلَاةِ فَيَمْشِي إِلَى شَبَكَةٍ. | ٨ 8 |
Their own feet trip them up and they are caught in a net; as they walk along they fall into a pit.
| يُمْسِكُ ٱلْفَخُّ بِعَقِبِهِ، وَتَتَمَكَّنُ مِنْهُ ٱلشَّرَكُ. | ٩ 9 |
A trap grabs them by the heel; a snare tightens around them.
| مَطْمُورَةٌ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ حِبَالَتُهُ، وَمِصْيَدَتُهُ فِي ٱلسَّبِيلِ. | ١٠ 10 |
A noose is hidden on the ground for them; a rope is stretched across the path to trip them.
| تُرْهِبُهُ أَهْوَالٌ مِنْ حَوْلِهِ، وَتَذْعَرُهُ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهِ. | ١١ 11 |
Terrors scare the wicked, coming at them from every side, chasing them, biting at their heels.
| تَكُونُ قُوَّتُهُ جَائِعَةً وَٱلْبَوَارُ مُهَيَّأٌ بِجَانِبِهِ. | ١٢ 12 |
Hunger robs them of strength; disaster waits for them when they fall.
| يَأْكُلُ أَعْضَاءَ جَسَدِهِ. يَأْكُلُ أَعْضَاءَهُ بِكْرُ ٱلْمَوْتِ. | ١٣ 13 |
Disease devours their skin; deadly disease consumes their limbs.
| يَنْقَطِعُ عَنْ خَيْمَتِهِ، عَنِ ٱعْتِمَادِهِ، وَيُسَاقُ إِلَى مَلِكِ ٱلْأَهْوَالِ. | ١٤ 14 |
They are torn from the homes they trusted in and taken to the king of terrors.
| يَسْكُنُ فِي خَيْمَتِهِ مَنْ لَيْسَ لَهُ. يُذَرُّ عَلَى مَرْبِضِهِ كِبْرِيتٌ. | ١٥ 15 |
People they don't know will live in their homes; sulfur will be scattered where they used to live.
| مِنْ تَحْتُ تَيْبَسُ أُصُولُهُ، وَمِنْ فَوْقُ يُقْطَعُ فَرْعُهُ. | ١٦ 16 |
They wither away, roots below and branches above;
| ذِكْرُهُ يَبِيدُ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ، وَلَا ٱسْمَ لَهُ عَلَى وَجْهِ ٱلْبَرِّ. | ١٧ 17 |
the memory of them fades from the earth; nobody remembers their names any more.
| يُدْفَعُ مِنَ ٱلنُّورِ إِلَى ٱلظُّلْمَةِ، وَمِنَ ٱلْمَسْكُونَةِ يُطْرَدُ. | ١٨ 18 |
They are thrown out of light into darkness, driven from the world.
| لَا نَسْلَ وَلَا عَقِبَ لَهُ بَيْنَ شَعْبِهِ، وَلَا شَارِدَ فِي مَحَالِّهِ. | ١٩ 19 |
They have no children or descendants among their people, and no survivors where they used to live.
| يَتَعَجَّبُ مِنْ يَوْمِهِ ٱلْمُتَأَخِّرُونَ، وَيَقْشَعِرُّ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ. | ٢٠ 20 |
People of the west are appalled at what happens to them. People of the east are shocked.
| إِنَّمَا تِلْكَ مَسَاكِنُ فَاعِلِي ٱلشَّرِّ، وَهَذَا مَقَامُ مَنْ لَا يَعْرِفُ ٱللهَ». | ٢١ 21 |
This is what happens to the homes of the wicked, to the places of those who reject God.”
