< 1 Timothawus 3 >
1 Ubellu une ucineari, asa umon din inpiziru aso udia kutyen nlira, adin piziiru katuwa kaciineari.
This is a faithful saying: If someone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a good work.
2 Na iwa se imon tizogo liti ndia kutyenn nliran ba, na ayita ules nwani urum, unan kifu liti, unan cin seg nin nonku kibinai, unan yiru nlira unan yiru in dursuzu kiti,
The overseer, therefore, must be beyond criticism, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, good at teaching;
3 Na iwan seghe unan nso ntoro ba, na unan deddei nriu kiti ba, na aso unan yiru ncin nin nanit, unan salin nsu kubung, na wa yita nin nsu nikurfu ba.
not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money;
4 Na amin kilari me gegeme, nono me tutun yiita anan nlanzu ghe nliru:
one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;
5 (Unit nwa dari uminu kilari me gegeme, abati iyiziyari ayinin uminu kilari Kutellẹ?)
(but if someone does not know how to manage his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?)
6 Na awa yita upese nanya ndortu Kutellẹ ba, bara awa fo figiri, asso unan diu nafo shintag.
not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
7 Na iseghe nin Lissa licine kiti nanit ndas, bara awa piru nimon ncin nin libarda nshitan.
Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into disgrace and the trap of the devil.
8 Nanere a dikon, na iyita anan nibinai nisheu, na anan tinu tibaba ba,
Deacons, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not devoted to a lot of wine, not greedy for money;
9 na anan nson toro ba, na iwa yita ninkot nin nsu nimon inyi ba, anan naburi agib nin nibinai nilau.
holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10 Na ida dumunzun nani assa na ise ani nin kulapi ba ina ni katuwe.
Let them also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, if they are blamesless.
11 Nanere awane, na iyita anan nonku nibinai, na anan nijunguta ba, iyiita anan ncin ugegeme, anan nyiru ni nimon vat.
Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.
12 Na adikon yita anan nawani alalarum, iyita anan yiru ncin nin nilari mine nan nono mine gegeme.
Let deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13 Inug allenge na ina su katuwa ti dikon gegeme, ina se liyisin licine, nin naye akone nyinnu sa uyenu nanya Kristi Yisa.
For those who have served well as deacons gain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
14 Ille inyerte ndisu udu kitife, indin cisu kibinai, na nin dandaunu ba mba dak kitife.
These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly;
15 Assa udandaunu na uyenai ba, ndi nyertu fi unan yinno ucin nin kilari Kutellẹ, ka na idin yicu kilari nlira Kutellẹ kin nlai, fitak likara nin kidegen.
but if I wait long, that you may know how people ought to behave themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
16 Vat bite ti yinna, liyeshin ngbardang kiden Kutellẹ karin, “awa duro liti nanya kidowo, anasu kibolo nanya nfip me, nono kadura me yene ghe, ibelle uliru me nanya nalumai, uyi yinna ninghe, iwa serughe gongon nanya kitine kani.”
Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: He was revealed in the flesh, justified by the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
