< 2 Chronicles 20 >

1 Lẹ́yìn èyí, àwọn ọmọ Moabu àti àwọn ọmọ Ammoni àti díẹ̀ nínú àwọn ọmọ Mehuni wá láti gbé ogun ti Jehoṣafati.
After this, the children of Moab, the children of Ammon, and with them some of the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
2 Àwọn díẹ̀ nínú àwọn ọkùnrin wá láti sọ fún Jehoṣafati, “Àwọn ọ̀pọ̀ ọ̀wọ́ ogun ń bọ̀ wá bá ọ láti apá kejì Òkun láti Siria. Ó ti wà ní Hasason Tamari náà” (èyí tí í ṣe En-Gedi).
Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. Behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi).
3 Nípa ìró ìdágìrì, Jehoṣafati pinnu láti wádìí lọ́wọ́ Olúwa, ó sì kéde àwẹ̀ kíákíá fún gbogbo Juda.
Jehoshaphat was alarmed, and set himself to seek the LORD. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 Àwọn ènìyàn Juda sì kó ara wọn jọ pọ̀ láti wá ìrànlọ́wọ́ láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa; pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú, wọ́n wá láti gbogbo ìlú ní Juda láti wá a.
Judah gathered themselves together to seek help from the LORD. They came out of all the cities of Judah to seek the LORD.
5 Nígbà náà Jehoṣafati dìde dúró níwájú àpéjọ Juda àti Jerusalẹmu ní ilé Olúwa níwájú àgbàlá tuntun.
Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the LORD’s house, before the new court;
6 O sì wí pé, “Olúwa, Ọlọ́run àwọn baba wa, ìwọ kì ha ṣe Ọlọ́run tí ń bẹ ní ọ̀run? Ìwọ ń ṣe alákòóso lórí gbogbo ìjọba àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè. Agbára àti ipá ń bẹ ní ọwọ́ rẹ, kò sì sí ẹnìkan tí ó lè kò ọ́ lójú.
and he said, “LORD, the God of our fathers, aren’t you God in heaven? Aren’t you ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in your hand, so that no one is able to withstand you.
7 Ìwọ ha kọ́ Ọlọ́run wa, tí o ti lé àwọn olùgbé ilẹ̀ yìí jáde níwájú àwọn ènìyàn Israẹli, tí o sì fi fún irú-ọmọ Abrahamu ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ láéláé?
Didn’t you, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it to the offspring of Abraham your friend forever?
8 Wọ́n ti ń gbé nínú rẹ̀ wọ́n sì ti kọ́ sínú rẹ ibi mímọ́ fún orúkọ rẹ wí pé,
They lived in it, and have built you a sanctuary in it for your name, saying,
9 ‘Tí ibi bá wá sí orí wa, bóyá idà ìjìyà tàbí àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn àwọn yóò dúró níwájú rẹ níwájú ilé yìí tí ń jẹ́ orúkọ rẹ, àwa yóò sì sọkún jáde, ìwọ yóò sì gbọ́ wa. Ìwọ yóò sì gbà wá là?’
‘If evil comes on us—the sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this house, and before you (for your name is in this house), and cry to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.’
10 “Ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí, àwọn ọkùnrin nìyí láti Ammoni, Moabu àti òkè Seiri, agbègbè ibi ti ìwọ kò ti gba àwọn ọmọ Israẹli láyè láti gbóguntì nígbà tí wọn wá láti Ejibiti, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n yípadà kúrò ní ọ̀dọ̀ wọn, wọn kò sì pa wọ́n run.
Now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned away from them, and didn’t destroy them;
11 Sì kíyèsi i, bí wọ́n ti san án padà fún wa; láti wá lé wa jáde kúrò nínú ìní rẹ, tí ìwọ ti fi fún wa láti ní.
behold, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit.
12 Ọlọ́run wa, ṣé ìwọ kò ní ṣe ìdájọ́ fún wọn? Nítorí àwa kò ní agbára láti dojúkọ àwọn ọ̀pọ̀ ogun ńlá yìí tí ń bọ̀ wá kó wa. Àwa kò mọ̀ ohun tó yẹ ká ṣe, ṣùgbọ́n ojú wa wà ní ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ.”
Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us. We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
13 Gbogbo àwọn ọkùnrin Juda, pẹ̀lú àwọn aya wọn àti ọmọ wọn àti àwọn kéékèèké, dúró níbẹ̀ níwájú Olúwa.
All Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
14 Nígbà náà, ẹ̀mí Olúwa sì bà lé Jahasieli ọmọ Sekariah, ọmọ Benaiah, ọmọ Jeieli, ọmọ Mattaniah ọmọ Lefi àti ọmọ Asafu, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ṣe dìde dúró láàrín àpéjọ ènìyàn.
Then the LORD’s Spirit came on Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, in the middle of the assembly;
15 Ó sì wí pé, “Ẹ tẹ́tí sílẹ̀, ọba Jehoṣafati àti gbogbo àwọn tí ń gbé ní Juda àti Jerusalẹmu! Èyí ní ohun tí Olúwa sọ wí pé kí a ṣe: ‘Ẹ má ṣe bẹ̀rù tàbí fòyà nítorí ọ̀pọ̀ ogun ńlá yìí. Nítorí ogun náà kì í ṣe tiyín, ṣùgbọ́n ti Ọlọ́run ni.
and he said, “Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat. The LORD says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, and don’t be dismayed because of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
16 Ní ọ̀la, ẹ sọ̀kalẹ̀ tọ̀ wọ́n lọ, wọn yóò gòkè pẹ̀lú, ẹ̀yin yóò sì rí wọn ní ìpẹ̀kun odò náà, níwájú aginjù Jerueli.
Tomorrow, go down against them. Behold, they are coming up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
17 Ẹ̀yin kò ní láti bá ogun yìí jà. ẹ dúró ní ààyè yín; ẹ dúró jẹ́ẹ́ kí ẹ sì rí ìgbàlà Olúwa tí yóò fi fún yín, ìwọ Juda àti Jerusalẹmu. Ẹ má ṣe bẹ̀rù; ẹ má sì ṣe fòyà. Ẹ jáde lọ láti lọ dojúkọ wọ́n ní ọ̀la, Olúwa yóò sì wà pẹ̀lú yín.’”
You will not need to fight this battle. Set yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed. Go out against them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you.’”
18 Jehoṣafati tẹ orí rẹ̀ ba sílẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ojú rẹ̀, àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn Juda àti Jerusalẹmu wólẹ̀ níwájú láti sin Olúwa.
Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the LORD, worshiping the LORD.
19 Nígbà náà díẹ̀ lára àwọn ọmọ Lefi àti àwọn ọmọ Kohati àti àwọn ọmọ Kora sì dìde dúró wọ́n sì sin Olúwa, Ọlọ́run Israẹli, pẹ̀lú ohùn ariwo ńlá.
The Levites, of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites, stood up to praise the LORD, the God of Israel, with an exceedingly loud voice.
20 Ní òwúrọ̀ kùtùkùtù wọ́n jáde lọ sí aginjù Tekoa. Gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọ́n ti ń jáde lọ, Jehoṣafati dìde dúró ó sì wí pé, “Ẹ gbọ́ mi, Juda àti ènìyàn Jerusalẹmu! Ẹ ní ìgbàgbọ́ nínú Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín ẹ̀yin yóò sì borí, ẹ ní ìgbàgbọ́ nínú àwọn wòlíì rẹ̀ ẹ̀yìn yóò sì ṣe rere.”
They rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. As they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the LORD your God, so you will be established! Believe his prophets, so you will prosper.”
21 Lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí ó bá àwọn ènìyàn náà gbèrò tán, Jehoṣafati yàn wọ́n láti kọrin sí Olúwa àti láti fi ìyìn fún ẹwà ìwà mímọ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó tì ń jáde lọ sí iwájú ogun ńlá náà, wí pé, “Ẹ fi ọpẹ́ fún Olúwa, nítorí àánú rẹ̀ dúró títí láéláé.”
When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the LORD and give praise in holy array as they go out before the army, and say, “Give thanks to the LORD, for his loving kindness endures forever.”
22 Bí wọ́n ti bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí kọrin àti ìyìn, Olúwa rán ogun ẹ̀yìn sí àwọn ọkùnrin Ammoni àti Moabu àti òkè Seiri tí ó ń gbógun ti Juda, wọ́n sì kọlù wọ́n.
When they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushers against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were struck.
23 Àwọn ọkùnrin Ammoni àti Moabu dìde dúró sí àwọn ọkùnrin tí ń gbé òkè Seiri láti pa wọ́n run túútúú. Lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí wọ́n sì ti pa àwọn ọkùnrin láti òkè Seiri, wọ́n sì ran ra wọn lọ́wọ́ láti pa ara wọn run.
For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. When they had finished the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy each other.
24 Nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn Juda jáde sí ìhà ilé ìṣọ́ ní aginjù, wọn ń wo àwọn ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn, òkú nìkan ni wọ́n rí tí ó ṣubú sí ilẹ̀, kò sì sí ẹnìkan tí ó rí ààyè sá.
When Judah came to the place overlooking the wilderness, they looked at the multitude; and behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and there were none who escaped.
25 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Jehoṣafati àti àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ lọ láti kó ìkógun wọn, wọ́n sì rí lára wọn ọ̀pọ̀ iyebíye ọrọ̀ púpọ̀, ó sì ju èyí tí wọ́n lè kó lọ. Ọ̀pọ̀ ìkógun sì wà níbẹ̀, èyí tí ó gbà wọ́n ní ọjọ́ mẹ́ta láti gbà pọ̀.
When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their plunder, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies with precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away. They took plunder for three days, it was so much.
26 Ní ọjọ́ kẹrin, wọn kó ara jọ pọ̀ ní àfonífojì ìbùkún, níbi tí wọ́n ti ń fi ìbùkún fún Olúwa. Ìdí nìyí tí wọ́n fi ń pe ibẹ̀ ní àfonífojì ìbùkún títí di òní.
On the fourth day, they assembled themselves in Beracah Valley, for there they blessed the LORD. Therefore the name of that place was called “Beracah Valley” to this day.
27 Nígbà náà wọ́n darí pẹ̀lú Jehoṣafati, gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn Juda àti Jerusalẹmu padà pẹ̀lú ayọ̀ sí Jerusalẹmu, nítorí Olúwa ti fún wọn ní ìdí láti yọ̀ lórí àwọn ọ̀tá wọn.
Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, with Jehoshaphat in front of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
28 Wọ́n sì wọ Jerusalẹmu, wọ́n sì lọ sí ilé Olúwa pẹ̀lú ohun èlò orin olókùn àti dùùrù àti ìpè.
They came to Jerusalem with stringed instruments, harps, and shofars to the LORD’s house.
29 Ìbẹ̀rù Ọlọ́run wá si orí gbogbo ìjọba ilẹ̀ náà nígbà tí wọ́n gbọ́ bí Olúwa ti bá àwọn ọ̀tá Israẹli jà.
The fear of God was on all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
30 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ìjọba Jehoṣafati sì wà ní àlàáfíà, nítorí Ọlọ́run rẹ̀ ti fún un ni ìsinmi ní gbogbo àyíká.
So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.
31 Báyìí ni Jehoṣafati jẹ ọba lórí Juda. Ó sì jẹ́ ẹni ọdún márùndínlógójì. Nígbà tí ó di ọba Juda, ó sì jẹ ọba ní Jerusalẹmu fún ọdún mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dọ́gbọ̀n. Orúkọ ìyá rẹ̀ sì ni Asuba ọmọbìnrin Silihi.
So Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah. He was thirty-five years old when he began to reign. He reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
32 Ó sì rin ọ̀nà baba rẹ̀ Asa kò sì yà kúrò nínú rẹ̀, ó sì ṣe èyí tí ó tọ́ ní ojú Olúwa.
He walked in the way of Asa his father, and didn’t turn away from it, doing that which was right in the LORD’s eyes.
33 Ní ibi gíga, pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú, kò mu wọn kúrò, gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn náà kò sì fi ọkàn wọn fún Ọlọ́run àwọn baba wọn.
However the high places were not taken away, and the people had still not set their hearts on the God of their fathers.
34 Ìyókù iṣẹ́ ìjọba Jehoṣafati, láti ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ títí dé òpin, ni a kọ sí inú ìwé ìtàn ti Jehu ọmọ Hanani, tí a kọ sí inú ìwé àwọn ọba Israẹli.
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Jehu the son of Hanani, which is included in the book of the kings of Israel.
35 Nígbà tí ó yá, Jehoṣafati ọba Juda da ara rẹ̀ pọ̀ pẹ̀lú Ahasiah, ọba Israẹli, ẹni tí ó jẹ̀bi ìwà búburú.
After this, Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel. The same did very wickedly.
36 Ó sì gbà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ láti kan ọkọ̀ láti lọ sí Tarṣiṣi, lẹ́yìn èyí wọ́n kan ọkọ̀ ní Esioni-Geberi.
He joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish. They made the ships in Ezion Geber.
37 Elieseri ọmọ Dodafahu ti Meraṣa sọtẹ́lẹ̀ sí Jehoṣafati, wí pe, “Nítorí tí ìwọ ti da ara rẹ̀ pọ̀ mọ́ Ahasiah, Olúwa yóò pa ohun ti ìwọ ti ṣe run.” Àwọn ọkọ̀ náà sì fọ́, wọn kò sì le lọ sí ibi ìtajà.
Then Eliezer the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, “Because you have joined yourself with Ahaziah, the LORD has destroyed your works.” The ships were wrecked, so that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
