I-sai-a 3
1 Nầy, Chúa, là Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, sẽ cất lấy chói và gậy khỏi Giê-ru-sa-lem và Giu-đa, tức là cả bánh nó cậy và cả nước nó nhờ.
For behold, the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, Taketh away from Jerusalem and from Judah every stay and support; The whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water;
2 Ngài sẽ cất lấy những người mạnh mẽ, chiến sĩ, quan xét, đấng tiên tri, thầy bói, trưởng lão,
The mighty man, and the warrior, The judge, the prophet, the diviner, and the sage,
3 cai đội, dòng quí phái, mưu sĩ, lương công, và thuật sĩ.
The captain of fifty, and the honorable man, The counsellor, the expert in arts, and the skilful in charms.
4 Ta sẽ ban cho họ những người trai trẻ làm quan trưởng, và con nít sẽ cai trị họ.
And I will make boys their princes, And children shall rule over them.
5 Dân sự hà hiếp nhau, người với người, lân cận với lân cận; con nít lấn lướt kẻ già cả, người hèn hạ lấn lướt người tôn trọng.
And the people shall oppress one another, Man striving against man, and neighbor against neighbor; The boy shall behave himself insolently toward the aged, And the base toward the honorable.
6 Khi một người sẽ bắt anh em mình tại nhà cha mà nói với rằng: Ngươi có áo choàng; hãy làm đầu chúng ta, và sự bại hoại nầy hãy thuộc về dưới tay ngươi!
Then shall a man take hold of his brother in his father's house, [[and say, ]] Thou hast yet clothing, Be thou our ruler, And take this ruin into thy hands!
7 Trong ngày đó người kia lên tiếng đáp rằng: Không, ta không làm thầy chữa lành, và trong nhà ta không có bánh cũng không có áo; chớ lập ta làm quan cai dân sự.
But in that day shall he lift up his hand, and say: I am no healer; In my house is neither bread nor raiment; Make not me ruler of the people!
8 Giê-ru-sa-lem phải nghiêng úp, và Giu-đa xiêu đổ; vì lời nói việc làm của họ nghịch cùng Ðức Giê-hô-va, và trêu chọc con mắt của uy nghiêm Ngài.
For Jerusalem tottereth, and Judah falleth, Because their tongues and their deeds are against Jehovah, To provoke his holy eyes.
9 Bộ mặt họ làm chứng nghịch cùng mình; họ bêu tội rõ ràng như thành Sô-đôm chẳng giấu chút nào. Khốn thay cho linh hồn họ! vì họ đã làm hại cho mình!
Their very countenance witnesseth against them; They publish their sin like Sodom; they hide it not; Woe to them, for they bring evil upon themselves!
10 Hãy rao cho kẻ công bình được phước; vì họ sẽ ăn trái của việc làm mình.
Say ye of the righteous that it shall be well with him, For he shall eat the fruit of his doings.
11 Khốn cho kẻ hung ác, ắt mang họa! Vì họ sẽ thâu lại việc tự tay mình làm ra!
Woe to the wicked, it shall be ill with him, For the work of his hands shall be repaid him!
12 Dân ta bị con nít hà hiếp, và đờn bà cai trị nó. Hỡi dân ta, kẻ dẫn ngươi làm cho ngươi sai lạc, và họ phá hoại đường lối ngươi.
As for my people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O my people, thy leaders cause thee to err, And destroy the way in which thou walkest!
13 Ðức Giê-hô-va dấy lên đặng biện luận, Ngài đứng mà xét đoán các dân.
Jehovah standeth up to maintain his cause; He standeth up to judge his people.
14 Ðức Giê-hô-va xét đoán các trưởng lão của dân Ngài với các quan trưởng nó: Ấy chính các ngươi là kẻ đã nuốt vườn nho; của cướp bóc kẻ nghèo đương ở trong nhà các ngươi!
Jehovah entereth into judgment with the elders of his people, and their princes: “So then ye have consumed the vineyard; The plunder of the poor is in your houses!
15 Các ngươi có ý gì mà đè ép dân ta, giày vò mặt kẻ nghèo khó? Chúa, là Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, phán vậy.
What mean ye, that ye crush my people, And grind the faces of the poor?” Saith Jehovah, the Lord of hosts.
16 Ðức Giê-hô-va lại phán rằng: Vì những con gái Si-ôn kiêu ngạo, ngóng cổ bước tới, liếc mắt trêu ngươi, vừa đi õng ẹo, vừa khua động tiếng dưới chơn,
Thus, also, saith Jehovah: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, And walk with outstretched necks, And glance their eyes wantonly, Mincing their steps as they go, And tinkling with their foot-clasps,
17 nên Chúa sẽ làm cho đỉnh đầu con gái Si-ôn đóng vảy, và Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ lột truồng chúng nó.
Therefore will the Lord make their heads bald, And Jehovah will expose their nakedness.
18 Trong ngày đó, Chúa sẽ cất những vòng mắt cá họ trang sức đi, cái lưới và cái cài;
In that day shall the Lord take from them The ornaments of the foot-clasps, and the net-works, and the crescents;
19 hoa tai, xuyến và lúp;
The ear-rings, and the bracelets, and the veils;
20 mão, chuyền mắt cá, nít lưng, hợp hương và bùa đeo;
The turbans, and the ankle-chains, and the belts; The perfume-boxes, and the amulets;
21 cà rá và khoen đeo mũi;
The finger-rings, and the nose-jewels;
22 áo lễ, áo lá rộng, áo choàng, túi nhỏ;
The embroidered robes, and the tunics, and the cloaks, and the purses;
23 gương tay, vải mỏng, khăn bịt đầu và màn che mặt.
The mirrors, and the linen shifts, and the head-bands, and the large veils.
24 Sẽ có mùi hôi hám thay vì thơm tho; dây tói thay vì nịt lưng; đầy sói thay vì tóc quăn; bao gai quấn mình thay vì áo dài phấp phới; dấu phỏng thay vì sắc đẹp.
And instead of perfume there shall be corruption; Instead of a belt, a rope; Instead of curled locks, baldness; Instead of a wide mantle, a covering of sackcloth; Fire-scars instead of beauty.
25 Lính chiến ngươi sẽ ngã dưới gươm, những kẻ anh hùng ngươi sẽ bị tử trận.
Thy men shall fall by the sword, Yea, thy mighty men in battle;
26 Các cửa nó sẽ than khóc và thảm sầu; nó vắng vẻ ngồi trên đất.
Her gates shall lament and mourn, And she, being desolate, shall sit upon the ground.
