< Mateo 14 >

1 Ɛberɛ no mu ara na Herode a na ɔdi ɔhene wɔ Galilea no tee Yesu nka.
At that time Herod the Tetrarche heard of the fame of Iesus,
And sayde vnto his seruaunts, This is that Iohn Baptist, hee is risen againe from the deade, and therefore great woorkes are wrought by him.
3 Saa ɛberɛ no na Herode ama wɔakyere Yohane Osubɔni ato afiase, ɛfiri sɛ, na wakasa atia Herodia ne Herode awadeɛ no
For Herod had taken Iohn, and bounde him, and put him in prison for Herodias sake, his brother Philips wife.
4 sɛ, Herode aware ne nua Filipo yere.
For Iohn saide vnto him, It is not lawfull for thee to haue her.
5 Herode pɛɛ sɛ ɔkum Yohane. Nanso na ɔsuro sɛ, sɛ ɔkum no a, basabasa bɛba ɔman no mu. Ɛfiri sɛ, na nnipa no nyinaa bu Yohane sɛ odiyifoɔ.
And when hee woulde haue put him to death, hee feared the multitude, because they counted him as a Prophet.
6 Ɛbaa sɛ na Herode redi nʼawoda. Awoda no ase Herodia babaa bɛsa ma ɛyɛɛ Herode fɛ.
But when Herods birth day was kept, the daughter of Herodias daunced before them, and pleased Herod.
7 Yei maa Herode kaa ntam, hyɛɛ no bɔ sɛ, ɔmmisa deɛ ɔpɛ biara na ɔde bɛma no.
Wherefore he promised with an othe, that he would giue her whatsoeuer she would aske.
8 Ababaawa yi maame Herodia tuu no fo sɛ, “Mmisa biribiara, gye sɛ Yohane ti a wɔatwa ato prɛte mu.”
And shee being before instructed of her mother, sayde, Giue mee here Iohn Baptists head in a platter.

And the King was sorie: neuerthelesse because of the othe, and them that sate with him at the table, he commanded it to be giuen her,
10 Herode soma ma wɔkɔtwaa Yohane ti wɔ afiase hɔ.
And sent, and beheaded Iohn in the prison.
11 Wɔde ti a wɔatwa no too prɛte mu de brɛɛ ababaawa no maa ɔde kɔmaa ne maame.
And his head was brought in a platter, and giuen to the maide, and shee brought it vnto her mother.
12 Yohane asuafoɔ no bɛfaa nʼamu no kɔsiee no. Yei akyi, wɔkɔbɔɔ Yohane wuo no ho amaneɛ kyerɛɛ Yesu.
And his disciples came, and tooke vp the bodie, and buried it, and went, and tolde Iesus.
13 Yesu tee Yohane Osubɔni wuo no, ɔtee ne ho kɔtenaa baabi a obiara nni hɔ. Nnipa tee ne nka maa wɔnam fam firi wɔn nkuro ne wɔn nkuraaseɛ tii no kɔɔ deɛ ɔwɔ hɔ.
And when Iesus heard it, hee departed thence by shippe into a desert place apart. And when the multitude had heard it, they followed him on foote out of the cities.
14 Yesu firii kodoɔ no mu baa deɛ nnipa no wɔ hɔ no. Ɔhunuu nnipadɔm no, ne yam hyehyee no maa wɔn. Yei ma ɔsaa ayarefoɔ a wɔwɔ wɔn mu no yadeɛ.
And Iesus went foorth and sawe a great multitude, and was mooued with compassion toward them, and he healed their sicke.

And when euen was come, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desart place, and the time is alreadie past: let the multitude depart, that they may goe into the townes, and bye them vitailes.
16 Yesu buaa wɔn sɛ, “Ɛho nhia sɛ wɔkɔ; momma wɔn aduane nni!”
But Iesus saide to them, They haue no neede to goe away: giue yee them to eate.
17 Asuafoɔ no ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Deɛ yɛwɔ nyinaa yɛ burodo enum ne mpataa mmienu pɛ.”
Then saide they vnto him, Wee haue here but fiue loaues, and two fishes.
18 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Momfa mmrɛ me.”
And he saide, Bring them hither to me.
19 Afei, ɔka kyerɛɛ nnipadɔm no ma wɔtenatenaa ase wɔ ɛserɛ no so. Ɔhwɛɛ ɔsoro bɔɔ mpaeɛ, hyiraa aduane no so. Afei, ɔbubuu mu de maa nʼasuafoɔ no ma wɔkyekyɛ maa nnipadɔm no.
And hee commanded the multitude to sit downe on the grasse, and tooke the fiue loaues and the two fishes, and looked vp to heauen and blessed, and brake, and gaue the loaues to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
20 Nnipa no dii aduane no maa obiara meeɛ! Afei, asuafoɔ no boaboaa deɛ wɔdi ma ɛkaeɛ no ano no, ɛyɛɛ nkɛntɛmma dumienu.
And they did all eate, and were sufficed, and they tooke vp of the fragments that remained, twelue baskets full.
21 Mmarima a wɔdii aduane no dodoɔ bɛyɛ mpemnum a mmaa ne mmɔfra nka ho.
And they that had eaten, were about fiue thousande men, beside women and litle children.
22 Nnipadɔm no didi wieeɛ pɛ, Yesu ka kyerɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ no sɛ, wɔntena kodoɔ no mu nni ɛkan ntwa nkɔ asuogya nohoa na ɔno deɛ, ɔretena hɔ agya nnipa no kwan.
And straightway Iesus compelled his disciples to enter into a shippe, and to goe ouer before him, while he sent the multitude away.
23 Ɔgyaa wɔn ɛkwan wieeɛ no, ɔkɔɔ bepɔ bi so kɔbɔɔ mpaeɛ. Onwunu dwoeɛ no, na aka Yesu nko ara wɔ deɛ ɔwɔ hɔ.
And assoone as hee had sent the multitude away, he went vp into a moutaine alone to pray: and when the euening was come, hee was there alone.
24 Saa ɛberɛ no, na kodoɔ a na asuafoɔ no te mu no aduru akyiri. Mframa hyɛɛ aseɛ bɔɔ denden maa ɛpo no bɔɔ asorɔkye dweradweraa kodoɔ no a na asuafoɔ no te mu no.
And the shippe was nowe in the middes of the sea, and was tossed with waues: for it was a contrarie winde.
25 Anɔpahema bɛyɛ nnɔnnan berɛ mu no, Yesu nam ɛpo no ani baa asuafoɔ no nkyɛn.
And in the fourth watch of the night, Iesus went vnto them, walking on the sea.

And when his disciples sawe him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit, and cried out for feare.
27 Ntɛm ara, Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Me a. Monnsuro. Momma mo bo ntɔ mo yam!”
But straight way Iesus spake vnto them, saying, Be of good comfort, It is I: be not afraide.

Then Peter answered him, and saide, Master, if it be thou, bid me come vnto thee on the water.
29 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ Petro sɛ, “Bra!” Petro firii kodoɔ no mu sii nsuo no ani, nantee sɛ ɔrekɔ Yesu nkyɛn.
And he saide, Come. And when Peter was come downe out of the shippe, he walked on the water, to goe to Iesus.
30 Nanso, ɔhunuu mframa a ɛrebɔ no, ne ho popoeɛ. Ɔhyɛɛ aseɛ sɛ ɔremem. Ɔteateaam, frɛɛ Yesu sɛ, “Awurade, gye me na meremem!”
But when he sawe a mightie winde, he was afraide: and as he began to sinke, he cried, saying, Master, saue me.
31 Ɛhɔ ara, Yesu tenee ne nsa twee no. Afei ɔka kyerɛɛ Petro sɛ, “Wo a wo gyidie sua, adɛn na wonnye me nnie?”
So immediatly Iesus stretched foorth his hande, and caught him, and saide to him, O thou of litle faith, wherefore diddest thou doubt?
32 Yesu ne Petro kɔtenaa kodoɔ no mu no, mframa no gyaee bɔ.
And assoone as they were come into the ship, the winde ceased.
33 Asuafoɔ a wɔwɔ kodoɔ no mu no de ahodwirie bɛkotoo Yesu kaa sɛ, “Onyankopɔn Ba ne wo ampa!”
Then they that were in the ship, came and worshipped him, saying, Of a trueth thou art the Sonne of God.
34 Wɔtwaa asuo no baa Genesaret.
And when they were come ouer, they came into the land of Gennezaret.
35 Yesu duruu hɔ no, ankyɛre na nkuro a atwa Genesaret ho ahyia no nyinaa tee ne nka. Wɔde wɔn ayarefoɔ nyinaa brɛɛ no.
And when the men of that place knewe him, they sent out into all that countrey rounde about, and brought vnto him all that were sicke,
36 Ayarefoɔ no srɛɛ Yesu sɛ, ɔmma wɔmfa wɔn nsa nka nʼatadeɛ ano kɛkɛ. Ayarefoɔ dodoɔ a wɔtumi de wɔn nsa kaa nʼatadeɛ ano no ho yɛɛ wɔn den.
And besought him, that they might touch the hemme of his garment onely: and as many as touched it, were made whole.
