< Hiob 6 >

1 Na Hiob buaa sɛ,
Then Job answered and said,
2 “Sɛ wɔbɛtumi akari mʼawerɛhodie na me haw nso wɔde agu nsania so a,
Oh that my vexation were but weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together!
3 anka emu bɛyɛ duru asene anwea a ɛwɔ ɛpo mu nyinaa, enti ɛnyɛ nwanwa sɛ me nsɛm ayɛ hagyahagya.
For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas: therefore have my words been rash.
4 Otumfoɔ agyan no awɔ me mu, me honhom nom ano awuduro no; wɔahyehyɛ Onyankopɔn ahunahuna nyinaa atia me.
For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof my spirit drinketh up: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
5 Wiram afunumu su wɔ ɛberɛ a wanya ɛserɛ anaa, na nantwie nso su wɔ ɛberɛ a wanya nʼaduane anaa?
Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder?
6 Wɔdi aduane a nkyene nni mu anaa, na kosua mu fufuo nso ɔdɛ bi wɔ mu anaa?
Can that which hath no savour be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
7 Mempɛ sɛ mede me nsa ka; aduane a ɛte saa no bɔ me yadeɛ.
My soul refuseth to touch [them]; they are as loathsome meat to me.
8 “Ao sɛ me nsa bɛka mʼabisadeɛ, sɛ Onyankopɔn bɛyɛ deɛ mʼani da so ama me.
Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant [me] the thing that I long for.
9 Mepɛ sɛ Onyankopɔn dwerɛ me, sɛ ɔbɛtwe ne nsa na wakum me,
Even that it would please God to crush me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
10 ɛnneɛ anka mɛkɔ so anya saa awerɛkyekyerɛ yi. Nanso, ɔyea yi nyinaa akyi no memmuu Ɔkronkronni no nsɛm so da.
Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would exult in pain that spareth not: for I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
11 “Ahoɔden bɛn na mewɔ a enti ɛsɛ sɛ menya anidasoɔ? Daakye nneɛma pa bɛn enti na ɛsɛ sɛ menya ntoboaseɛ?
What is my strength, that I should wait? and what is mine end, at I should be patient?
12 Mewɔ ahoɔden sɛ ɛboɔ anaa? Me honam yɛ kɔbere mfrafraeɛ anaa?
Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass?
13 Mewɔ tumi a mede bɛboa me ho anaa? Saa ɛberɛ yi a nkonimdie apare me yi?
Is it not that I have no help in me, and that effectual working is driven quite from me?
14 “Deɛ nʼanidasoɔ asa no hia ne nnamfonom mpaeɛbɔ, ɛnyɛ saa a, ɔbɛpa aba wɔ Otumfoɔ no suro ho.
To him that is ready to faint kindness [should be shewed] from his friend; even to him that forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
15 Nanso ahotosoɔ nni me nuanom mu. Wɔte sɛ nsuwa nsuwa a ɛyirie na ɛweɛ, wɔte sɛ nsuwa nsuwa a ɛyirie
My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away;
16 ɛberɛ a sukyerɛmma renane na asukɔtweaa nso redane nsuo,
Which are black by reason of the ice, [and] wherein the snow hideth itself:
17 nanso owiaberɛ mu no, ɛntene bio na ɔhyew enti nsuo no tu yera.
What time they wax warm, they vanish: when it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
18 Akwantufoɔ mane firi wɔn akwan so; wɔforo kɔ nsase bonini so na wɔwuwu.
The caravans [that travel] by the way of them turn aside; they go up into the waste, and perish.
19 Tema akwantufoɔ hwehwɛ nsuo, adwadifoɔ akwantufoɔ a wɔfiri Seba de anidasoɔ hwehwɛ nsuo.
The caravans of Tema looked, the companies of Sheba waited for them.
20 Wɔn ho yera wɔn, ɛfiri sɛ na wɔwɔ awerɛhyɛmu; wɔduruu hɔ, nanso wɔn anidasoɔ yɛ ɔkwa.
They were ashamed because they had hoped; they came thither, and were confounded.
21 Afei wo nso woakyerɛ sɛ wo ho nni mfasoɔ; Woahunu mʼamanehunu no, na ama woasuro.
For now ye are nothing; ye see a terror, and are afraid.
22 Maka sɛ, ‘Momma me biribi? Maka sɛ momfiri mo ahodeɛ ntua me tiri so sika,
Did I say, Give unto me? or, offer a present for me of your substance?
23 anaasɛ monnye me mfiri mʼatamfoɔ nsam, ne atirimuɔdenfoɔ nkyehoma mu anaa?’
Or, Deliver me from the adversary’s hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors?
24 “Monkyerɛkyerɛ me, na mɛyɛ komm; monkyerɛ me mfomsoɔ a mayɛ.
Teach me, and I will hold my peace: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
25 Nokorɛka yɛ yea, na mo adwenkyerɛ no, ɛkɔsi sɛn?
How forcible are words of uprightness! but what doth your arguing reprove?
26 Mokyerɛ sɛ deɛ maka no nnyɛ nokorɛ, mofa obi a nʼabamu abu asɛm sɛ mframa anaa?
Do ye imagine to reprove words? seeing that the speeches of one that is desperate are as wind.
27 Mpo mobɛbɔ awisiaa so ntonto, na mode mo adamfo adi nsesa dwa.
Yea, ye would cast [lots] upon the fatherless, and make merchandise of your friend.
28 “Afei momfa ahummɔborɔ nhwɛ me. Mɛtumi adi atorɔ wɔ mo anim anaa?
Now therefore be pleased to look upon me; for surely I shall not lie to your face.
29 Monto mo bo ase, mommu ntɛnkyea; monsane nnwene ho, ɛfiri sɛ me pɛpɛyɛ ho aba akyinnyegyeɛ.
Return, I pray you, let there be no injustice; yea, return again, my cause is righteous.
30 Amumuyɛsɛm wɔ mʼano anaa? Mennim papa ne bɔne ntam nsonsonoeɛ anaa?
Is there injustice on my tongue? cannot my taste discern mischievous things?
