1 Afei, Elihu kaa sɛ:
Moreover Elihu, responded and said: —
2 “Wogye di sɛ yei fata? Woka sɛ, ‘Onyankopɔn bɛtwitwa agye me.’
This, dost thou think to be right? Thou hast said—My righteousness is more than GOD’S.
3 Nanso wobisa no sɛ, ‘Mfasoɔ bɛn na mɛnya, na sɛ manyɛ bɔne a, mfasoɔ bɛn na mɛnya?’
For thou dost say, How can one profit by thee? How can I benefit, more than by my sin?
4 “Mepɛ sɛ mebua wo ne wo nnamfonom nyinaa.
I, will answer thee plainly, and thy friends with thee.
5 Ma wʼani so kyerɛ ɔsoro na hwɛ; hwɛ omununkum a ɛwɔ wʼatifi ɔsorosoro nohoa.
Look at the heavens and see, —and survey the skies—they are higher than thou.
6 Sɛ woyɛ bɔne a, ɛkwan bɛn so na ɛsakyera Onyankopɔn? Mpo sɛ wo bɔne dɔɔso a, nsunsuansoɔ bɛn na ɛnya wo ne so?
If thou sinnest, what canst thou work against him? Or, if thy transgressions be multiplied, what canst thou do unto him?
7 Sɛ wotene a, ɛdeɛn na wode ma noɔ anaasɛ ɛdeɛn na ɔnya firi wo nsam?
If thou art righteous, what canst thou give unto him? Or what, at thy hand, can he accept?
8 Wʼamumuyɛ pira onipa a ɔte sɛ wo na wo tenenee pira nnipa mma nko ara.
Unto a man like thyself, might thy lawlessness [reach], and, unto a son of the earth-born, thy righteousness.
9 “Nnipa su ɛberɛ a wɔwɔ nhyɛsoɔ ase; na wɔsrɛ mmoa firi deɛ ɔwɔ tumi nsam.
By reason of the multitude of oppressions, [men] make outcry, They cry for help, by reason of the arm of the mighty;
10 Nanso, obi mmisa sɛ, ‘Ɛhe na Onyankopɔn, me Yɛfoɔ no wɔ, deɛ ɔma nnwom anadwo no,
But none saith—Where is GOD my maker, Who giveth songs in the night;
11 deɛ ɔkyerɛ yɛn nimdeɛ bebree sene asase so mmoa na ɔma yɛhunu nyansa sene ewiem nnomaa?’
Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and, beyond the bird of the heavens, giveth us wisdom?
12 Sɛ nnipa su team a, ɔmmua, amumuyɛfoɔ ahantan enti.
There, [men] make outcry, and he answereth not, because of the arrogance of evil-doers.
13 Ampa ara Onyankopɔn rentie wɔn nkotosrɛ hunu no; na Otumfoɔ remmu.
Howbeit, vanity, will GOD not hear, Yea, the Almighty, will not regard it.
14 Woka sɛ wonhunu no, nanso sɛ wotwɛn no a, ɔde atɛntenenee bɛba enti ɛsɛ sɛ wotwɛn no.
How much less when thou sayest thou wilt not regard him! The cause, is before him, and thou must wait for him.
15 Bio, woka sɛ nʼabufuo mmfa asotweɛ mma na nʼani nni amumuyɛsɛm akyi pii.
But, now, because it is not so, [thou sayest] —His anger hath punished, and yet hath he not at all known of transgression;
16 Enti Hiob bue nʼano ka nsɛm hunu; nimdeɛ a ɔnni enti, ɔkeka nsɛm bebree.”
Thus, Job, vainly openeth his mouth, Without knowledge, he multiplieth words.
