< Yeremia 26 >

1 Yehoiakim a ɔyɛ Yudahene Yosia babarima adedie ahyɛaseɛ mfeɛ no, saa asɛm yi firi Awurade nkyɛn baeɛ:
In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word from Jehovah, saying: —
2 “Yei ne deɛ Awurade seɛ: Gyina Awurade efie mu abannwa hɔ, na ka kyerɛ nnipa a wɔfiri Yuda nkuro mu bɛsom wɔ Awurade efie mu nyinaa. Ka deɛ mehyɛ wo no nyinaa kyerɛ wɔn; nnyi asɛm biara mfiri mu.
Thus saith Jehovah: Stand in the court of the house of Jehovah, and speak to those who come from all the cities of Judah to worship in the house of Jehovah all the words which I have commanded thee to speak to them; abate not a word.
3 Ebia wɔbɛtie, na wɔn mu biara asane afiri nʼakwammɔne so. Sɛ ɛba saa a, mɛtwɛn, na meremfa amanehunu a wɔn bɔne enti, mepɛɛ sɛ mede ba wɔn so no mma bio.
If peradventure they will hearken and turn every one from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do to them because of their evil doings.
4 Ka kyerɛ wɔn sɛ, ‘Deɛ Awurade seɛ nie: Sɛ moantie me, na moanni me mmara a mahyɛ mo no so,
And thou shalt say to them, Thus saith Jehovah: If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law which I have set before you,
5 na sɛ moantie nsɛm a mʼasomfoɔ adiyifoɔ a mesoma wɔn mo nkyɛn ɛberɛ biara no ka kyerɛ mo no a, (mpo monntiee wɔn),
to hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent to you, rising early and sending, and ye have not hearkened,
6 ɛnneɛ, mɛyɛ efie yi sɛ Silo, na kuropɔn yi ayɛ nnomedeɛ wɔ asase so aman nyinaa mu.’”
then will I make this house like Shiloh, and this city will I make a curse to all the nations of the earth.
7 Asɔfoɔ, adiyifoɔ ne nnipa no nyinaa tee sɛ Yeremia reka saa nsɛm yi, wɔ Awurade efie hɔ.
And the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Jehovah.
8 Na Yeremia wiee nsɛm a Awurade ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ ɔnka nkyerɛ nnipa no nyinaa no ka no, asɔfoɔ no, adiyifoɔ ne nnipa no nyinaa to hyɛɛ no so kaa sɛ, “Ɛsɛ sɛ wo wu!
And when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that Jehovah had commanded him to speak to all the people, then the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, and said, Thou shalt surely die!
9 Adɛn na wohyɛ nkɔm wɔ Awurade din mu sɛ, efie yi bɛyɛ sɛ Silo na kuropɔn yi bɛda mpan a obiara ntena so anaa?” Na nnipa no nyinaa bɛtwaa Yeremia ho hyiaeɛ wɔ Awurade efie hɔ.
Why dost thou prophesy in the name of Jehovah, and say, This house shall be as Shiloh, and this city shall be made desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were assembled together against Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.
10 Ɛberɛ a Yuda adwumafoɔ tee saa nsɛm yi no, wɔfirii ahemfie hɔ foro kɔɔ Awurade efie kɔtenaa efie no Ɛpono Foforɔ no ano.
When the princes of Judah heard these things, they went up from the king's house to the house of Jehovah, and sat in the entrance of the new gate of the house of Jehovah.
11 Ɛna asɔfoɔ no ne adiyifoɔ no ka kyerɛɛ adwumayɛfoɔ no ne nnipa no nyinaa sɛ, “Ɛsɛ sɛ wɔbu saa ɔbarima yi kumfɔ, ɛfiri sɛ wahyɛ nkɔm atia kuropɔn yi. Moate wɔ mo asom!”
Then spake the priests and the prophets to the princes and to all the people, saying: This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
12 Na Yeremia kasa yii ne ho ano wɔ adwumayɛfoɔ ne nnipa no nyinaa anim sɛ, “Awurade somaa me sɛ, memmɛnhyɛ nkɔm ntia efie yi ne kuropɔn yi sɛdeɛ moate no nyinaa.
Then spake Jeremiah to all the princes and to all the people, saying: Jehovah hath sent me to prophesy against this house, and against this city, all the words which ye have heard.
But now amend ye your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of Jehovah, your God, and Jehovah will repent of the evil which he hath pronounced against you.
14 Me deɛ, mewɔ mo nsam; mobɛtumi ayɛ me sɛdeɛ ɛyɛ na ɛtene wɔ mo ani so.
And as for me, behold, I am in your hands; do to me as it seemeth good and right in your eyes.
15 Nanso monkae sɛ, sɛ mokum me a, moahwie mogya a ɛdi bem agu, na ɛso afɔdie bɛba mo so, kuropɔn yi so ne wɔn a wɔtete mu so; na nokorɛm Awurade na wasoma me sɛ memmɛka nsɛm yi nyinaa nnwu mo asom.”
But know ye for certain that, if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and its inhabitants; for of a truth Jehovah hath sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.
16 Na adwumayɛfoɔ no ne nnipa no nyinaa ka kyerɛɛ asɔfoɔ no ne adiyifoɔ no sɛ, “Ɛnsɛ sɛ wɔbu saa ɔbarima yi kumfɔ! Wakasa akyerɛ yɛn wɔ Awurade, yɛn Onyankopɔn din mu.”
Then said the princes and all the people to the priests and the prophets: This man is not worthy to die, for he hath spoken to us in the name of Jehovah, our God.
17 Na asase no so mpanimfoɔ no mu bi sɔreeɛ na wɔka kyerɛɛ badwa no nyinaa sɛ,
Certain elders of the land also rose up, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying:
18 “Mika a ɔfiri Moreset hyɛɛ nkɔm Yudahene Hesekia berɛ so. Ɔka kyerɛɛ Yudafoɔ nyinaa sɛ, ‘Yei na Asafo Awurade seɛ: “‘Wɔbɛfuntum Sion te sɛ afuo. Na Yerusalem bɛyɛ mmubuiɛ na asɔredan no kokoɔ bɛyɛ sɛ nkɔfie a nkyɛkyerɛ afu wɔ so.’
Micah, the Morasthite, prophesied in the days of Hezekiah, king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Zion shall be ploughed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps of stones, and the mountain of the house [[of Jehovah]] as the heights of a forest.
19 Na Yudahene Hesekia anaa Yudani bi kumm no anaa? Hesekia ansuro Awurade ansrɛ ne hɔ adom? Na ɛno amma Awurade antwɛn sɛ ɔbɛyi amanehunu a ɔpɛɛ sɛ ɔde ba wɔn so no amfiri wɔn so anaa? Yɛreyɛ de amanehunu kɛseɛ aba yɛn ankasa so!”
Did Hezekiah, king of Judah, and all Judah, put him to death? Did he not fear Jehovah, and beseech Jehovah, so that Jehovah repented of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Shall we then bring so great an evil upon ourselves?
20 (Semaia babarima Uria a ɔfiri Kiriat-Yearim no nso yɛ ɔbarima foforɔ a ɔhyɛɛ nkɔm wɔ Awurade din mu; ɔhyɛɛ nkɔm korɔ yi ara tiaa saa kuropɔn yi ne saa asase yi, sɛdeɛ Yeremia yɛeɛ no.
There was also another man that prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah, the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and this land, according to all the words of Jeremiah;
21 Ɛberɛ a ɔhene Yehoiakim ne ne mpanimfoɔ ne nʼadwumayɛfoɔ nyinaa tee ne nsɛm no, ɔhene no pɛɛ sɛ ɔkum no, nanso Uria teeɛ no, ɔde ehu dwane kɔɔ Misraim.
and when Jehoiakim the king, and all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death. But when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled and went into Egypt.
22 Ɔhene Yehoiakim somaa Akbor babarima Elnatan ne mmarima bi kɔɔ Misraim.
But Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt,
23 Wɔde Uria firi Misraim baeɛ, na wɔde no kɔmaa ɔhene Yehoiakim. Ɔma wɔde akofena kumm no na wɔtoo ne funu twenee kwasafo asieeɛ.)
and they brought Urijah out of Egypt, and carried him to King Jehoiakim, who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.
24 Afei nso, na Safan babarima Ahikam gyina Yeremia akyi, enti wɔammfa no amma ɛdɔm no sɛ wɔnkum no.
Nevertheless, the hand of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, was with Jeremiah, that he should not be delivered into the hand of the people, to be put to death.
