Asomafoɔ 4
1 Ɛberɛ a Petro ne Yohane gu so rekasa akyerɛ nkurɔfoɔ no, asɔfoɔ ne ɔpanin a ɔhwɛ awɛmfoɔ a wɔhwɛ asɔredan no so no ne Sadukifoɔ baa wɔn nkyɛn.
But, as they were speaking unto the people, the High-priests and the Captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
2 Wɔn bo fuu yie, ɛfiri sɛ, na saa asomafoɔ yi rekyerɛkyerɛ nnipa no sɛ Yesu asɔre afiri owuo mu a ɛkyerɛ sɛ awufoɔ tumi nyane ba nkwa mu.
Being tired out because of their teaching the people, and announcing, in Jesus, the resurrection from among the dead;
3 Wɔkyeree asomafoɔ no, nanso ɛsiane sɛ na adeɛ asa enti, wɔde wɔn guu afiase kɔsii adekyeeɛ.
And they thrust on them their hands, and put them in custody for the morrow, for it was evening, already.
4 Nanso nnipa a wɔtee asɛm no mu dodoɔ no ara bɛyɛ sɛ mpemnum gyee asɛm no diiɛ.
Howbeit, many of them that heard the word, believed; and the number of the men became about five thousand.
5 Adeɛ kyeeɛ no, Yudafoɔ mpanin, mpanimfoɔ ne Atwerɛsɛm no akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ hyiaa wɔ Yerusalem.
And it came to pass, upon the morrow, that there were gathered together of them, the rulers and the elders and the scribes, in Jerusalem;
6 Wɔhyiaa Ɔsɔfopanin Anas ne Kaiafa ne Yohane ne Aleksandro ne afoforɔ a wɔfiri Ɔsɔfopanin no abusua mu.
Also Annas, the high-priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of high-priestly descent; —
7 Wɔmaa wɔde asomafoɔ baanu yi baa wɔn anim bisaa wɔn sɛ, “Tumi bɛn anaa hwan din na mode yɛɛ yei?”
And, setting them in the midst, they began to enquire—In what manner of power, or in what manner of name, did, ye, do this?
8 Petro a Honhom Kronkron ahyɛ no ma no buaa sɛ, “Ɔman mpanimfoɔ ne atitire.
Then Peter, filled with Holy Spirit, said unto them—Ye rulers of the people, and elders!
9 Sɛ ɛnnɛ mogyina ha bisa yɛn ade pa a yɛyɛ maa obubuafoɔ no maa ne ho tɔɔ no no a,
If, we, this day, are to be examined for doing good to a sick man, —in whom, this, man hath been made well,
10 ɛnneɛ ɛsɛ sɛ mo ne Israelfoɔ nyinaa hunu sɛ, saa onipa a ɔgyina ha yi, ɛnam Yesu Kristo a ɔfiri Nasaret a mobɔɔ no asɛnnua mu na Onyankopɔn nyanee no firii awufoɔ mu no tumi mu na ne ho ayɛ no den.”
Be it known unto you all, and unto all the people of Israel: that, in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, —whom, ye, crucified, whom, God, raised from among the dead, in him, doth, this man stand by, in your presence, whole.
11 Yesu ne onipa a Atwerɛsɛm ka fa ne ho sɛ, “‘Ɛboɔ a mo adansifoɔ poeɛ no a abɛyɛ tweatiboɔ.’
This, is the stone, set at nought by you the builders, which became the head of the corner;
12 Ɔno nko ara mu na nkwagyeɛ wɔ; ɛfiri sɛ, edin biara nni ewiase ha a nnipa nam so bɛnya nkwagyeɛ.”
And there is in no one else, salvation, for, neither is there any other name, under heaven, which hath been set forth among men, in which we must needs be saved.
13 Ɛyɛɛ agyinatufoɔ no ahodwirie sɛ Petro ne Yohane a wɔnsuaa nwoma da na wɔyɛ nnipa teta no tumi kasa akokoɔduru so saa. Wɔhunuu sɛ saa asomafoɔ yi ne Yesu nanteeɛ.
And, looking at Peter’s boldness of speech, and John’s, and having discovered that they were unlettered and obscure men, they began to marvel, recognising them also, that they had been with Jesus;
14 Nnipa no antumi anka asɛm biara bio, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔhunuu sɛ ɔbarima a na ne ho atɔ no no ne Petro ne Yohane gyina hɔ.
Seeing, the man also standing, with them, even the [man] who had been cured, they had nothing wherewith to contradict.
15 Wɔmaa wɔfirii asɛnniiɛ hɔ ma wɔdwendwenee asɛm no ho.
Howbeit, ordering them to go forth outside the high-council, they began to confer one with another,
16 Wɔbisabisaa wɔn ho wɔn ho sɛ, “Ɛdeɛn na yɛnyɛ saa nnipa yi? Obiara a ɔwɔ Yerusalem ha ate sɛ saa nnipa yi ayɛ anwanwadeɛ a yɛrentumi ntwa ho nkontompo.
Saying—What are we to do with these men? For, indeed, that a notable sign hath come to pass through their means, unto all who are dwelling in Jerusalem, is manifest, and we cannot deny [it]!
17 Sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a saa nnipa yi remma saa asɛm yi ntrɛ nkɔ afoforɔ nkyɛn no, momma yɛmfrɛ wɔn, mmɔ wɔn kɔkɔ, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a wɔremmɔ Yesu din nkyerɛ obiara bio.”
Nevertheless, lest it further spread abroad among the people, let us charge them with threats, to be no more speaking upon this name, to any soul of man.
18 Wɔfrɛɛ asomafoɔ baanu yi baeɛ, hyɛɛ wɔn sɛ wɔnni ho kwan biara sɛ wɔbɔ Yesu Kristo din anaa wɔkyerɛkyerɛ wɔ ne din mu.
And, calling them, they gave them the sweeping charge, —not to be sounding aloud, nor even to be teaching, upon the name of Jesus.
19 Petro ne Yohane buaa wɔn sɛ, “Sɛ yɛbɛtie Onyankopɔn anaa yɛbɛtie mo no, emu deɛ ɛwɔ he na ɛyɛ? Mo ara mommua mfa.
But, Peter and John, answering, said unto them—Whether it be right in presence of God, unto you, to be hearkening, rather than unto God, judge!
20 Deɛ yɛahunu ne deɛ yɛate deɛ, yɛrentumi nnyae ho asɛnka.”
For, we, cannot but be speaking the things which we have seen and heard.
21 Agyinatufoɔ no bɔɔ wɔn kɔkɔ bio gyaee wɔn, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔannya biribiara annyina so antwe wɔn aso; afei nso, na nnipa no nyinaa rekamfo Onyankopɔn wɔ asɛm a asi no ho.
They, however, further charging them with threats, let them go, finding nothing as to how they might chastise them, on account of the people; because, all, were glorifying God for that which had come to pass; —
22 Na ɔbarima a wɔnam anwanwakwan so saa no yadeɛ no adi boro mfeɛ aduanan.
For, more than forty years old, was the man, upon whom had taken place, this healing sign.
23 Wɔgyaee Petro ne Yohane pɛ, wɔkɔɔ agyidifoɔ a aka no nkyɛn kɔkaa deɛ asɔfoɔ mpanin ne mpanimfoɔ no ka kyerɛɛ wɔn no kyerɛɛ wɔn.
But, when they had been let go, they came unto their own [friends], and told as many things as, unto them, the High-priests and Elders, had said.
24 Ɛberɛ a wɔtee saa asɛm no, wɔn nyinaa bɔɔ mu bɔɔ mpaeɛ sɛ, “Owura, Ɔbɔadeɛ a wobɔɔ ɔsoro, asase ne ɛpo ne biribiara a ɛwɔ mu,
And, they, having heard, with one accord, uplifted voice unto God, and said—O Sovereign! Thou, art he that made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things that are herein:
25 wonam Honhom Kronkron so nam yɛn nana Dawid a ɔyɛ wʼakoa no so maa ɔkaa sɛ, “Adɛn enti na amanamanmufoɔ no bo afu? Adɛn enti na wɔsɛe mmerɛ yɛ nhyehyɛeɛ hunu yi?
Who, by our father, through means of the Holy Spirit, even by the mouth of David thy servant, said—Unto what end did nations rage, and, peoples, busy themselves with empty things?
26 Asase so ahemfo sɔre gyina na atumfoɔ bom tu agyina tia Awurade ne Agyenkwa no.
The kings of the earth stationed themselves, and, the rulers, were gathered together, with one intent, against the Lord, and against his Christ.
27 Ampa ara Herode ne Pontio Pilato ne amanamanmufoɔ ne Israelfoɔ hyiaa wɔ kuro kɛseɛ yi mu sɔre tiaa Yesu a ɔyɛ Ɔsomfoɔ Kronkron a woate ne ho no.
For they were gathered together, of a truth, in this city, against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou hadst anointed, —both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with them of the nations, and peoples of Israel; —
28 Wɔhyia yɛɛ biribiara a wonam wo tumi ne wo pɛ so ahyɛ ato hɔ sɛ ɛbɛba mu no.
To do whatsoever, thy hand and thy counsel, marked out beforehand to come to pass.
29 Afei, Awurade, hwɛ ahunahuna a wɔrehunahuna yɛn yi na ma yɛn a yɛyɛ wʼasomfoɔ yi mfa akokoɔduru nka wʼasɛm yi.
As to the present things, then, O Lord, —look upon their threats, and grant unto thy servants, with all freedom of utterance, to be speaking thy word,
30 Ma wo nsa so fa sa nyarewa, na fa wo ɔsomfoɔ Kronkron Yesu Kristo din so yɛ nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ ne anwanwadeɛ.”
By stretching forth thy hand for healing, and by the coming to pass of both signs and wonders, through the name of thy holy servant Jesus.
31 Wɔbɔɔ mpaeɛ wieeɛ no, faako a wɔhyiaeɛ hɔ wosoeɛ. Honhom Kronkron bɛhyɛɛ wɔn nyinaa ma ma na wɔfirii aseɛ de akokoɔduru kaa Onyankopɔn asɛm.
And, when they had made supplication, the place was shaken in which they were gathered together, and they were filled, one and all, with the Holy Spirit, and began speaking the word of God with freedom of utterance.
32 Agyidifoɔ no nyinaa tenaa ase sɛ nnipa korɔ. Wɔn mu bi anka sɛ nʼankasa ahodeɛ bi yɛ ɔno nko ara dea; biribiara a wɔwɔ no, wɔn nyinaa kyekyɛɛ mu pɛ faeɛ.
And, the throng of them that believed, had one heart and soul, and not so much as one was saying that, aught of his goods, was, his own, but they had all things common.
33 Asomafoɔ no nam tumi a emu yɛ den so dii Awurade Yesu wusɔreɛ no ho adanseɛ na Onyankopɔn hyiraa wɔn nyinaa.
And, with great power, were the apostles giving forth their witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus; great favour also was upon them all.
34 Biribiara ho anhia obiara a ɔfra kuo no mu, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔn a na wɔwɔ nsase ne afie no tontɔneeɛ de sika a wɔnya firii mu no
For there was not so much as anyone, lacking, among them; for, as many as were possessors of lands or houses, selling them, were bringing the prices of the things that were being sold,
35 brɛɛ asomafoɔ no maa wɔkyekyɛeɛ sɛdeɛ ɛho hia obiara.
And laying them at the feet of the Apostles, while on the other hand they were distributing unto each one, in so far as any one had, need.
36 Yosef a na ɔyɛ Lewini a ɔfiri Kipro a na asomafoɔ no frɛ no Barnaba, a asekyerɛ ne “Nkuranhyɛ Ba” no,
And, Joseph, who had been surnamed Barnabas by the Apostles, which is to be translated Son of Exhortation, —a Levite, a Cyprian by nation,
37 tɔn nʼasase de sika a ɔnyaeɛ no brɛɛ asomafoɔ no.
Having a field, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the feet of the Apostles.
