< Nnwom 59 >
1 Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo. Wɔto no sɛnea wɔto “Nsɛe No” sanku nne so. Dawid “miktam” dwom. Ɔtoo no bere a Saulo soma kɔwɛn Dawid fi sɛ wonkokum no no. Ao, Onyankopɔn, gye me fi mʼatamfo nsam; bɔ me ho ban fi wɔn a wɔtaa me no ho.
God, save me from my enemies! Protect me from those who want to attack me!
2 Gye me fi amumɔyɛfo nsam. Gye me nkwa fi mogyapɛfo nsam.
Rescue me from men who want to do what is wicked, men who are murderers!
3 Hwɛ sɛnea wɔatɛw rehwehwɛ me akum me! Nnipa a wɔn ho yɛ hu bɔ pɔw bɔne tia me a emfi me mfomso anaa bɔne bi, Awurade.
Look! They are waiting to kill me! Fierce men have gathered to assault me. Yahweh, they are doing that even though I have not done what is wrong!
4 Menyɛɛ mfomso bi, nanso wɔayɛ krado sɛ wɔbɛtow ahyɛ me so. Sɔre begye me; hwɛ mʼamanehunu!
It is not because I have committed any sin [against them] that they run and get ready to attack me.
5 Wo, Awurade Nyankopɔn, Israel Nyankopɔn, ma wo ho so na twe amanaman no nyinaa aso; nhu amumɔyɛfo nkontompofo no mmɔbɔ.
Yahweh my God, commander of the armies of heaven, the one we Israelis [worship], arise and punish the [ungodly/heathen people of] all the nations; do not be merciful to those [wicked people] who have (acted treacherously toward/secretly planned to harm) us.
6 Wɔsan ba anwummere, wɔbobɔ mu sɛ akraman, na wokyinkyin kuropɔn no mu.
They return each evening, snarling like vicious dogs [SIM] as they prowl around this city.
7 Hwɛ nea wɔfe fi wɔn anom, wɔn anofafa mu nsɛm ano yɛ nnam sɛ mfoa, na wosusuw se: “Hena na ɔbɛte yɛn nka?”
They loudly say terrible things; they say [MTY] many things that [injure people like] [MET] swords do, but they think, “No one will [RHQ] hear us!”
8 Nanso wo Awurade, woserew wɔn; wudi saa aman no nyinaa ho fɛw.
But Yahweh, you laugh at them. You (scoff at/ridicule) the [people of the pagan] nations.
9 Wone mʼAhoɔden, mehwɛ wo kwan; wo, Onyankopɔn, ne mʼabandennen,
God, I have confidence in you because you are very strong; you are my refuge.
10 me Nyankopɔn a metumi atweri no. Onyankopɔn bedi mʼanim na ɔbɛma mahwɛ wɔn a wɔbɔ me ahohora no haw.
Because you love me, you will come to save me; you will allow me to watch while you defeat my enemies.
11 Nanso nkum wɔn, Awurade, yɛn nkatabo, na me nkurɔfo werɛ amfi wɔn. Wo tumi mu no tutu wɔn ase, na brɛ wɔn ase.
But do not kill them [immediately] in order that my people will not forget [how you punished them]! [Instead], Lord, [you who are like a] shield [that protects us] [MET], scatter them by your power, and [then] defeat them.
12 Bɔne a efi wɔn anom, ne wɔn ano nsɛm nti ma wɔn ahomaso nkyekyere wɔn. Abususɛm a wɔka ne atoro a wotwa nti,
Because what they say [MTY] is sinful, allow them to be trapped for being proud. Because they are [always] cursing and telling lies,
13 sɛe wɔn wɔ abufuwhyew mu, kosi sɛ wɔn ase bɛtɔre. Afei ɛbɛma asase so mmaa nyinaa ahu sɛ Onyankopɔn di Yakob so.
because you are angry, get rid of them; destroy them completely in order that people will know that you rule over us, your Israeli people, and that you rule over all the earth.
14 Wɔsan ba anwummere, wɔbobɔ mu sɛ akraman, na wokyinkyin kuropɔn no mu.
My enemies return each evening, snarling like [vicious] dogs as they prowl around this city.
15 Wokyinkyin pɛ aduan na sɛ wɔammee a, wosu bobɔ mu.
They roam around, searching for food; and if they do not find enough, they growl.
16 Nanso mɛto wʼahoɔden ho dwom, mɛto wʼadɔe ho dwom anɔpa; efisɛ woyɛ mʼabandennen, me guankɔbea wɔ ahohia mmere mu.
But [as for me], I will sing about your power; [every] morning I will sing joyfully about your faithfully loving [us]. I will sing about how you protected me when I was [very] distressed.
17 Ao mʼAhoɔden, mɛto ayeyi dwom ama wo; wo, Onyankopɔn, ne mʼabandennen, me Nyankopɔn a ɔyɛ ɔdɔ.
God, you are the one who enables me to be strong; you are my refuge; you faithfully love me.
