< Yeremia 49 >

1 Nea ɛfa Amonfo ho: Sɛɛ na Awurade se: “Israel nni mmabarima ana? Onni wɔn a wobedi nʼade? Ɛno de adɛn nti na Molek afa Gad ayɛ ne de yi? Adɛn nti na ne nkurɔfo tete ne nkurow mu?
Of the children of Ammon. The LORD says: “Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in its cities?
2 Nanso nna no reba,” Awurade na ose. “Bere a mɛbobɔ mu de afrɛ ɔko atia Raba a ɛyɛ Amonfo de; ɛbɛyɛ afabo siw, wɔbɛto nkuraa a atwa ne ho ahyia no mu gya. Na Israel bɛpam wɔn a wɔpam no no,” sɛɛ na Awurade se.
Therefore behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and it will become a desolate heap, and her daughters will be burned with fire; then Israel will possess those who possessed him,” says the LORD.
3 “Twa adwo. Hesbon, efisɛ wɔasɛe Ai! Monteɛ mu, mo a mowɔ Raba! Mumfura ayitam na munni awerɛhow; mommɔ nnyenyen wɔ afasu no mu, efisɛ Molek bɛkɔ nnommum mu, ɔne nʼasɔfo ne nʼadwumayɛfo.
“Wail, Heshbon, for Ai is laid waste! Cry, you daughters of Rabbah! Clothe yourself in sackcloth. Lament, and run back and forth among the fences; for Malcam will go into captivity, his priests and his princes together.
4 Adɛn nti na wode wʼabon ahorow no hoahoa wo ho, wʼabon a wunya mu aba bebree no nti? Amon Babea a Onni nokware, wode wo ho to wʼahonya so na woka se, ‘Hena na ɔbɛtow ahyɛ me so?’
Why do you boast in the valleys, your flowing valley, backsliding daughter? You trusted in her treasures, saying, ‘Who will come to me?’
5 Mede ehu bɛba wo so, ebefi wɔn a wɔatwa wo ho ahyia no nyinaa,” Awurade na ose, Asafo Awurade no. “Wɔbɛpam mo nyinaa, na obiara remmoaboa akobɔfo ano.
Behold, I will bring a terror on you,” says the Lord, GOD of Hosts, “from all who are around you. All of you will be driven completely out, and there will be no one to gather together the fugitives.
6 “Nanso akyiri no, mɛsan de Amonfo adenya ama wɔn,” sɛe na Awurade se.
“But afterward I will reverse the captivity of the children of Ammon,” says the LORD.
7 Nea ɛfa Edom ho: Sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade se: “Nyansa nni Teman bio ana? Afotu ayera wɔ anyansafo mu ana? Wɔn nyansa no aporɔw ana?
Of Edom, the LORD of Hosts says: “Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?
8 Monnan mo ho na munguan, monkɔtetɛw abodan a mu dɔ mu, mo a motete Dedan, efisɛ mede amanehunu bɛba Esau so wɔ bere a mɛtwe nʼaso no.
Flee! Turn back! Dwell in the depths, inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau on him when I visit him.
9 Sɛ bobetetewfo no baa mo nkyɛn a anka wɔrennya bobe no kakra ana? Sɛ akorɔmfo baa ɔdasu mu a, anka wɔrenwia ade dodow a wɔpɛ ana?
If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? If thieves came by night, wouldn’t they steal until they had enough?
But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he will not be able to hide himself. His offspring is destroyed, with his brothers and his neighbors; and he is no more.
11 Munnyaw mo ayisaa, mɛbɔ wɔn nkwa ho ban. Mo akunafo nso betumi de wɔn ho ato me so.”
Leave your fatherless children. I will preserve them alive. Let your widows trust in me.”
12 Nea Awurade se ni: “Sɛ ɛsɛ sɛ wɔn a wɔmfata sɛ wɔnom kuruwa no nom a, ɛno de adɛn nti na ɛnsɛ sɛ wɔtwe mo aso? Wɔbɛtwe mo aso na mobɛnom nso.
For the LORD says: “Behold, they to whom it didn’t pertain to drink of the cup will certainly drink; and are you he who will altogether go unpunished? You won’t go unpunished, but you will surely drink.
13 Meka me ho ntam sɛ wɔbɛsɛe Bosra na ayɛ ahodwiriwde, ahohorade ne nnome; na ne nkurow nyinaa bɛsɛe afebɔɔ,” Awurade na ose.
For I have sworn by myself,” says the LORD, “that Bozrah will become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse. All its cities will be perpetual wastes.”
14 Mate asɛm a efi Awurade nkyɛn: wɔsomaa ananmusini bi sɛ ɔnkɔka nkyerɛ amanaman no se, “Mommoaboa mo ho ano nkɔtow nhyɛ no so! Monsɔre nkɔ ɔko!”
I have heard news from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, “Gather yourselves together! Come against her! Rise up to the battle!”
15 “Na mɛyɛ wo ketewa wɔ aman no mu, na wɔabu wo animtiaa.
“For, behold, I have made you small among the nations, and despised among men.
16 Ehu a wobɔ ne koma mu ahomaso adaadaa wo, wo a wote abotan ntokuru mu, na wote koko no sorɔnsorɔmmea. Ɛwɔ mu, woyɛ wo berebuw wɔ sorosoro sɛ ɔkɔre de, nanso hɔ na mefi de wo aba fam,” Awurade na ose.
As for your terror, the pride of your heart has deceived you, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill, though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there,” says the LORD.
17 “Edom bɛyɛ ahodwiriwde; wɔn a wotwa mu wɔ hɔ no nyinaa ho bedwiriw wɔn na wɔadi ne ho fɛw esiane nʼapirakuru nyinaa nti.
“Edom will become an astonishment. Everyone who passes by it will be astonished, and will hiss at all its plagues.
18 Sɛnea wɔdan Sodom ne Gomora ne wɔn nkurow gui no,” Awurade na ose, “saa ara na obiara rentena hɔ; onipa biara rentena mu.
As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and its neighbor cities,” says the LORD, “no man will dwell there, neither will any son of man live therein.
19 “Sɛnea gyata a ofi Yordan nkyɛkyerɛ mu rekɔ adidibea frɔmfrɔm no, saa ara na mɛtaa Edom afi nʼasase so wɔ bere tiaa bi mu. Hena ne nea mayi no sɛ ɔnyɛ eyi? Hena na ɔte sɛ me, na hena na obetumi ne me adi asi? Na oguanhwɛfo bɛn na obetumi asɔre atia me?”
“Behold, he will come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will suddenly make them run away from it, and whoever is chosen, I will appoint him over it. For who is like me? Who will appoint me a time? Who is the shepherd who will stand before me?”
20 Enti tie nea Awurade ahyehyɛ atia Edom, nea wabɔ ne tirim sɛ ɔbɛyɛ de atia wɔn a wɔte Teman ni: Nguankuw no mu nkumaa no wɔbɛtwe wɔn akɔ; wɔn nti ɔbɛsɛe adidibea no koraa.
Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Edom, and his purposes that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely they will drag them away, the little ones of the flock. Surely he will make their habitation desolate over them.
21 Wɔn asehwe nnyigyei bɛma asase awosow; wɔn nteɛteɛmu gyegyeegye akodu Po Kɔkɔɔ ho.
The earth trembles at the noise of their fall; there is a cry, the noise which is heard in the Sea of Suf.
22 Monhwɛ! Ɔkɔre bi betu akɔ soro na wabɔ hoo aba fam a watrɛtrɛw ne ntaban mu wɔ Bosra so. Saa da no Edom dɔmmarima koma betu sɛ ɔbea a ɔrekyem wɔ awo so.
Behold, he will come up and fly as the eagle, and spread out his wings against Bozrah. The heart of the mighty men of Edom at that day will be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
23 Nea ɛfa Damasko ho: “Hamat ne Arpad di yaw, efisɛ wɔate asɛmmɔne. Wɔn koma abotow te sɛ po a ayɛ hagyahagya.
Of Damascus: “Hamath and Arpad are confounded, for they have heard evil news. They have melted away. There is sorrow on the sea. It can’t be quiet.
24 Damasko ayɛ mmerɛw, wayɛ sɛ ɔrebeguan wabɔ huboa; ahoyeraw ne ɔyaw akyekyere no, ɔyaw a ɛte sɛ ɔbea a, ɔrekyem wɔ awo so.
Damascus has grown feeble, she turns herself to flee, and trembling has seized her. Anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a woman in travail.
25 Adɛn nti na wonnyaw kuropɔn a agye din yi ntoo hɔ, kurow a mʼani gye mu?
How is the city of praise not forsaken, the city of my joy?
26 Ampa ara ne mmerante bɛtotɔ wɔ mmɔnten so; wɔbɛma nʼasraafo nyinaa aka wɔn ano ato mu saa da no,” sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade se.
Therefore her young men will fall in her streets, and all the men of war will be brought to silence in that day,” says the LORD of Hosts.
27 “Mede ogya bɛto Damasko afasu mu; na ɛbɛhyew Ben-Hadad aban.”
“I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it will devour the palaces of Ben Hadad.”
28 Nea ɛfa Kedar ne Hasor ahenni, a Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar tow hyɛɛ so no. Sɛɛ na Awurade se: “Sɔre na kɔtow hyɛ Kedar so na sɛe nnipa a wɔwɔ apuei fam no.
Of Kedar, and of the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck, The LORD says: “Arise, go up to Kedar, and destroy the children of the east.
29 Wɔbɛfa wɔn ntamadan ne wɔn nguankuw; wɔbɛfa wɔn nkataso, ne wɔn ho nneɛma ne yoma akɔ. Nnipa bɛteɛteɛ mu se, ‘Ehu wɔ baabiara!’
They will take their tents and their flocks. they will carry away for themselves their curtains, all their vessels, and their camels; and they will cry to them, ‘Terror on every side!’
30 “Munguan nkɔ ntɛmntɛm! Monhyehyɛ abodan a mu dɔ mu, mo a motete Hasor,” Awurade na ose. “Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar apam mo ti so; wayɛ nhyehyɛe a etia mo.
Flee! Wander far off! Dwell in the depths, you inhabitants of Hazor,” says the LORD; “for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel against you, and has conceived a purpose against you.
31 “Sɔre kɔtow hyɛ ɔman bi so a woremmrɛ, ɔman a wɔte ahotoso mu,” Awurade na ose, “ɔman a wonni apon anaa akwanside; na emu nnipa nko ara na wɔte.
Arise! Go up to a nation that is at ease, that dwells without care,” says the LORD; “that has neither gates nor bars, that dwells alone.
32 Wɔn mfurum bɛyɛ asade, na wɔn anantwikuw akɛse no bɛyɛ asade. Mɛbɔ saa nnipa a wɔtete akyirikyiri no ahwete ama mframa no, na mede amanehunu befi afa nyinaa aba wɔn so,” Awurade na ose.
Their camels will be a booty, and the multitude of their livestock a plunder. I will scatter to all winds those who have the corners of their beards cut off; and I will bring their calamity from every side of them,” says the LORD.
33 “Hasor bɛyɛ ahade ama adompo, ɛbɛda mpan afebɔɔ. Obiara rentena hɔ; onipa biara rentena mu.”
Hazor will be a dwelling place of jackals, a desolation forever. No man will dwell there, neither will any son of man live therein.”
34 Eyi ne asɛm a, efi Awurade nkyɛn baa odiyifo Yeremia hɔ a ɛfa Elam ho, wɔ Yudahene Sedekia adedi mfiase:
The LORD’s word that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
35 Sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade se: “Hwɛ mebubu Elam agyan mu, nea wɔn ahoɔden gyina so no.
“The LORD of Hosts says: ‘Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.
36 Mede mframa anan no bɛba Elam so afi ɔsorosoro afanan; mɛbɔ wɔn ahwete mframa anan no mu, na ɔman biara nni hɔ a Elam atubrafo renkɔ so.
I will bring on Elam the four winds from the four quarters of the sky, and will scatter them toward all those winds. There will be no nation where the outcasts of Elam will not come.
37 Mɛbɔ Elam ahwete wɔ wɔn atamfo anim, wɔ wɔn a wɔrehwehwɛ wɔn akum wɔn no anim; mede amanehunu bɛba wɔn so mpo mʼabufuwhyew no,” Awurade na ose. “Mede afoa bɛtaa wɔn kosi sɛ, mewie wɔn korakora.
I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before those who seek their life. I will bring evil on them, even my fierce anger,’ says the LORD; ‘and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.
38 Mesi mʼahengua wɔ Elam na masɛe ne hene ne nʼadwumayɛfo,” Awurade na ose.
I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from there king and princes,’ says the LORD.
39 “Nanso mɛsan de Elam adenya ama no nna a ɛreba no mu,” Awurade na ose.
‘But it will happen in the latter days that I will reverse the captivity of Elam,’ says the LORD.”
