< Yakobo 1 >

1 Saa krataa yi fi me Yakobo a meyɛ Onyankopɔn ne Awurade Yesu Kristo somfo nkyɛn, Mikyia mmusuakuw dumien a wɔahwete no nyinaa.
James a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes in dispersion sendeth greeting.
2 Anuanom, sɛ sɔhwɛ bi ba mo akwan mu a, momma mo ani nnye
Account it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into various trials:
3 efisɛ sɛ mo gyidi tumi gyina sɔhwɛ no ano a, ɛno ansa na munya ntoboase.
knowing this, that the trial of your faith worketh patience;
4 Momma ntoboase no ntena mo mu daa nyinaa sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a mobɛyɛ pɛ a biribiara ho renhia mo.
but let patience have it's perfect work, that ye may be entirely perfect, failing in nothing.
5 Sɛ nyansa ho hia mo mu bi a, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔbɔ mpae srɛ Onyankopɔn na ɔbɛma no bi, efisɛ Onyankopɔn fi ayamye ne adom mu ma obiara nea ehia no no kwa.
And if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask it of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.
6 Na sɛ worebɔ mpae a, ɛsɛ sɛ wugye di a wunnye ho akyinnye. Obiara a ogye akyinnye no te sɛ po asorɔkye a mframa bɔ no kɔ baabiara a ɛpɛ.
But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting; for he that doubteth is like a wave of the sea blown about and tossed by the wind.
7 Ɛnsɛ sɛ saa onipa no susuw sɛ obenya biribiara afi Awurade nkyɛn;
Let not that man think that he shall receive any thing from the Lord.
8 nʼadwene yɛ no ntanta a ontumi nsi biribiara pi.
A double-minded man is inconstant in all his ways.
9 Sɛ Onyankopɔn ma onua hiani so a, ɛsɛ sɛ nʼani gye,
Let the brother that is low rejoice in his exaltation: but the rich in his humiliation,
10 na adefo a wabrɛ wɔn ase no nso saa ara. Efisɛ, adefo no twam kɔ sɛ wuram afifide bi.
because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 Owia pue de ne hyew no hyew afifide no ma nʼahoɔfɛ sɛe. Saa ara na wɔbɛsɛe adefo no wɔ bere a wogu so redi wɔn nnwuma no.
For when the sun is risen with it's sultry heat, it drieth up the grass, and the flower of, it falleth, and the beauty of it's appearance is lost: so shall the rich man fade away in his projects.
12 Nhyira nka onipa a onya gyidi wɔ amanehunu mu, efisɛ ɔno na obenya akyɛde a Onyankopɔn ahyɛ ho bɔ ama wɔn a wɔdɔ no no.
Happy is the man who sustaineth temptation; for being approved he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.
13 Sɛ wɔsɔ obi hwɛ a, ɛnsɛ sɛ ɔka se, “Saa sɔhwɛ yi fi Onyankopɔn.” Efisɛ bɔne rentumi nsɔ Onyankopɔn nhwɛ, na ɔno Onyankopɔn nso nsɔ obi nhwɛ.
Let no one that is tempted say, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted by evils, and He tempteth no one.
14 Na sɛ onipa twe ne ho na ɔno ara nʼakɔnnɔ yi no a, na ayɛ sɔhwɛ ama no.
But every man is tempted, when drawn aside and insnared by his own vehement desire.
15 Na sɛ akɔnnɔ no nyinsɛn a, ɛwo bɔne, na bɔne no nyin a ɛwo owu.
Then desire having conceived bringeth forth sin, and sin when it is finished bringeth forth death.
16 Me nuanom adɔfo, mommma wɔnnnaadaa mo.
Be not therefore deceived, my beloved brethren: for every good gift,
17 Akyɛde pa ne akyɛde a ɛyɛ pɛ nyinaa fi ɔsoro; efi Onyankopɔn a ɔbɔɔ ɔsoro hann no nkyɛn na ɛba. Ɔno na ɔnsesa sɛ sunsuma.
and every perfect gift, but no evil one, is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, nor shadow of turning:
18 Ofi ne pɛ mu nam nokware a ɛwɔ asɛm no mu no so woo yɛn sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a, yebedi kan wɔ abɔde nyinaa mu.
who hath of his own will begotten us by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.
19 Me nuanom adɔfo, monhyɛ eyinom nsow: monyɛ ntɛm ntie, monyɛ nyaa nkasa na monyɛ nyaa mfa abufuw;
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 efisɛ onipa abufuw no mma onnya Onyankopɔn trenee no.
for the wrath of man doth not practise the righteousness of God.
21 Ɛno nti, montwe mo ho mfi afide ne atirimɔden ho. Momfa mo ho mma Onyankopɔn na munnye asɛm a odua wɔ mo koma mu a ebegye mo nkwa no.
Laying aside therefore all filthiness, and excess of malice, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 Munntie asɛm no sɛ atiefo kwa nsisi mo ho, na mmom monyɛ asɛm no yɛfo.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23 Obiara a otie asɛm no na ɔmfa nni dwuma no te sɛ obi a ɔhwɛ ahwehwɛ mu, na ohu sɛnea ɔte.
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror,
24 Ɔhwɛ ne ho wɔ ahwehwɛ no mu hu ne ho yiye na sɛ ofi ahwehwɛ no anim ara pɛ a, ne werɛ fi nea ohuu no nyinaa.
who beheld himself, and went away, and immediately forgot what manner of man he was.
25 Nanso obiara a ɔhwɛ mmara a ɛyɛ pɛ, na ɛma onipa de ne ho no mu yiye, na odi so, na otie, na ne werɛ mfi, na ɔde di dwuma no, Onyankopɔn behyira saa onipa no wɔ biribiara a ɔyɛ mu.
But he that looketh well into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 Sɛ obi susuw sɛ ɔyɛ Onyamesomni na wanto ne tɛkrɛma nnareka a, ne nyamesom no so nni mfaso na ɔdaadaa ne ho nso.
If any among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his heart, this man's devotion is vain.
27 Nea Agya Onyankopɔn fa no sɛ ɛyɛ onyamesom pa no ni: Ɔhwɛ nyisaa ne akunafo wɔ wɔn ahohia mu, na oyi ne ho fi wiase porɔwee ho.
Pure and uncorrupt religion before God and our Father is this, to take care of orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
