< Saame 120 >
1 Ko e Hiva ʻae ʻalu hake. Naʻaku tangi kia Sihova ʻi heʻeku mamahi, pea naʻa ne ongoʻi au.
A song of degrees. I called vnto the Lord in my trouble, and hee heard me.
2 ʻE Sihova, fakahaofi hoku laumālie mei he loungutu loi, pea mei he ʻelelo kākā.
Deliuer my soule, O Lord, from lying lippes, and from a deceitfull tongue.
3 Ko e hā ʻe ʻatu kiate koe? He ko e hā ʻe fai kiate koe, ʻa koe ko e ʻelelo kākā?
What doeth thy deceitfull tongue bring vnto thee? or what doeth it auaile thee?
4 ʻAe ngaahi ngahau māsila ʻae tangata mālohi, mo e ngaahi malalaʻi afi ʻoe sunipa.
It is as the sharpe arrowes of a mightie man, and as the coales of iuniper.
5 ʻOku ou malaʻia, ko e meʻa ʻi heʻeku ʻāunofo ʻi Meseki, koeʻuhi ko ʻeku nofo ʻi he ngaahi fale fehikitaki ʻo Keta!
Woe is to me that I remaine in Meschech, and dwell in the tentes of Kedar.
6 Kuo nofo ʻo fuoloa ʻa hoku laumālie fakataha mo ia ʻoku ne fehiʻa ki he melino.
My soule hath too long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
7 ʻOku ou loto ki he melino: ka ʻi heʻeku lea ʻoku nau fie tau.
I seeke peace, and when I speake thereof, they are bent to warre.
