< Selemaia 30 >

The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2 ‌ʻOku folofola ʻa Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli, ʻo pehē, “Ke ke tohi ʻi he tohi ʻae ngaahi lea kotoa pē kuo u lea ʻaki kiate koe.
“The LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘Write all the words that I have spoken to you in a book.
For, behold, the days come,’ says the LORD, ‘that I will reverse the captivity of my people Israel and Judah,’ says the LORD. ‘I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they will possess it.’”
4 Pea ko e ngaahi lea eni naʻe folofolaʻaki ʻe Sihova ki ʻIsileli mo Siuta.
These are the words that the LORD spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah.
5 He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova; “Kuo mau fanongo ki he leʻo ʻoe tetetete, mo e manavahē, kae ʻikai ko e fiemālie.
For the LORD says: “We have heard a voice of trembling; a voice of fear, and not of peace.
6 Mou fehuʻi eni, pea vakai pe ʻoku ai ha tangata ʻoku langā ke fāʻele? Ko e hā ʻoku ou mamata ai ki he tangata taki taha ʻoku ʻai hono nima ki hono kongaloto, ʻo hangē ko e fefine ʻoku langā, pea ʻoku tetea ʻae mata kotoa pē?
Ask now, and see whether a man travails with child. Why do I see every man with his hands on his waist, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned pale?
7 ‌ʻOiauē! He ʻoku lahi ʻae ʻaho ko ia, he ʻoku ʻikai hano tatau: ʻio, ko e ʻaho mamahi ʻo Sēkope; ka ʻe fakamoʻui ia mei ai.”
Alas, for that day is great, so that none is like it! It is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he will be saved out of it.
8 He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, “ʻE hoko ʻo pehē ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, te u maumauʻi ʻae haʻamonga mei ho kia, pea te u motuhi ho ngaahi haʻi, pea ʻe ʻikai te ne toe tauhi ki he kau muli:
It will come to pass in that day, says the LORD of Armies, that I will break his yoke from off your neck, and will burst your bonds. Strangers will no more make them their bondservants;
9 Ka te nau tauhi kia Sihova ko honau ʻOtua, mo Tevita ko honau tuʻi, ʻaia te u fokotuʻu kiate kinautolu.”
but they will serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up to them.
10 Ko ia ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻOua naʻa ke manavahē, ʻE Sēkope ko ʻeku tamaioʻeiki; pea ʻoua naʻa ke puputuʻu, ʻE ʻIsileli: koeʻuhi vakai, te u fakamoʻui koe mei he mamaʻo, pea mo ho hako mei he fonua ʻo ʻenau pōpula; pea ʻe tafoki ʻa Sēkope, pea ʻe mālōlō ia, mo fiemālie, pea ʻe ʻikai fakailifiaʻi ia ʻe ha tokotaha.
Therefore don’t be afraid, O Jacob my servant, says the LORD. Don’t be dismayed, Israel. For, behold, I will save you from afar, and save your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return, and will be quiet and at ease. No one will make him afraid.
For I am with you, says the LORD, to save you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have scattered you, but I will not make a full end of you; but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.”
12 He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, ʻOku taʻefaʻafakamoʻui ho fakavolu, pea ʻoku kovi lahi ho lavea.
For the LORD says, “Your hurt is incurable. Your wound is grievous.
13 ‌ʻOku ʻikai ha taha ke langomakiʻi koe, Ke ne nonoʻo ho lavea: ʻoku ʻikai ha vai fakamoʻui kiate koe.
There is no one to plead your cause, that you may be bound up. You have no healing medicines.
14 Kuo fakangalongaloʻi koe ʻekinautolu kotoa pē naʻe ʻofa; ʻoku ʻikai te nau kumi koe; he kuo u tui ʻaki koe ʻae tā ʻae fili, ʻaki ʻae tautea lahi ʻaupito, koeʻuhi ko hono lahi ʻo hoʻo hia; pea koeʻuhi kuo tupu hoʻo ngaahi angahala.
All your lovers have forgotten you. They don’t seek you. For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins were increased.
15 Ko e hā ʻoku ke tangi ai koeʻuhi ko hoʻo mamahi? ʻE ʻikai faʻa fakamoʻui ho lavea, koeʻuhi ko hono lahi ʻo hoʻo hia: kuo u fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kiate koe, koeʻuhi kuo tupu ʻo lahi hoʻo ngaahi angahala.
Why do you cry over your injury? Your pain is incurable. For the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins have increased, I have done these things to you.
16 Ko ia ʻe fakaʻauha ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fakaʻauha koe; pea ʻe ʻave fakapōpula taki taha kotoa pē ʻa ho ngaahi fili; pea ʻe maumauʻi ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku nau maumauʻi koe, pea ʻe tukuange ki he fakamālohi ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fakamālohi kiate koe.
Therefore all those who devour you will be devoured. All your adversaries, everyone of them, will go into captivity. Those who plunder you will be plunder. I will make all who prey on you become prey.
17 He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, Te u fakamoʻui koe, pea te u fakamoʻui mo ho ngaahi lavea; koeʻuhi naʻa nau ui koe, ‘Ko e liʻaki,’ ʻo pehē,’ Ko Saione eni, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai kumi ki ai ʻe ha taha.’”
For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds,” says the LORD, “because they have called you an outcast, saying, ‘It is Zion, whom no man seeks after.’”
The LORD says: “Behold, I will reverse the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have compassion on his dwelling places. The city will be built on its own hill, and the palace will be inhabited in its own place.
Thanksgiving will proceed out of them with the voice of those who make merry. I will multiply them, and they will not be few; I will also glorify them, and they will not be small.
20 Pea ʻe ʻi ai ʻenau fānau ʻo hangē ko ia ʻi muʻa, pea ʻe fakatuʻumaʻu ʻenau fakataha ʻi hoku ʻao, pea te u tautea ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fakamālohiʻi ʻakinautolu.
Their children also will be as before, and their congregation will be established before me. I will punish all who oppress them.
21 Pea ʻe tupu honau houʻeiki ʻi honau faʻahinga, pea ʻe tupu ʻiate kinautolu ʻa honau pule; pea te u pule ke ne ʻunuʻunu mai, pea te ne haʻu kiate au: he ko hai eni naʻa ne ueʻi hono loto ke haʻu kiate au? ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova.
Their prince will be one of them, and their ruler will proceed from amongst them. I will cause him to draw near, and he will approach me; for who is he who has had boldness to approach me?” says the LORD.
22 Pea te mou hoko ko hoku kakai, pea te u hoko ko homou ʻOtua.
“You shall be my people, and I will be your God.
23 Vakai, ʻoku ʻalu atu ʻae ʻahiohio ʻa Sihova ʻo mālohi lahi ʻaupito, ko e ʻahiohio maʻuaipē: ʻe tō ia ko e fakamamahi ki he ʻulu ʻoe angahala.”
Behold, the LORD’s storm, his wrath, has gone out, a sweeping storm; it will burst on the head of the wicked.
24 ‌ʻE ʻikai fakatafoki ʻae houhau kakaha ʻo Sihova, kaeʻoua ke ne fai ia, pea ke ʻoua ke ne fai ki he tuʻutuʻuni ʻa hono loto: te mou ʻilo ʻae meʻa ni ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻamui.
The fierce anger of the LORD will not return until he has accomplished, and until he has performed the intentions of his heart. In the latter days you will understand it.”
