< 2 Meʻa Hokohoko 7 >

1 Pea ko eni ʻi heʻene fakaʻosi ʻe Solomone ʻae lotu, naʻe hoko hifo ʻae afi mei he langi, pea ne keina ʻo ʻosi ʻae feilaulau tutu pea mo e ngaahi feilaulau: pea naʻe fakafonu ʻae fale ʻe he nāunau ʻo Sihova.
And when Solomon had finished praying, then the fire came down from heaven, and devoured the whole-burnt-offerings and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.
And the priests could not enter into the house of the Lord at that time, for the glory of the Lord filled the house.
3 Pea ʻi he sio ʻae fānau kotoa pē ʻa ʻIsileli ki heʻene ʻalu hifo ʻae afi, pea ki he nāunau ʻo Sihova ʻi he fale, naʻa nau punou hifo mo honau mata ki he kelekele ki he funga faliki maka, mo [nau ]hū, mo fakafetaʻi kia Sihova, [ʻo pehē], He ʻoku angalelei ia: pea ʻoku taʻengata ʻa ʻene ʻaloʻofa.
And all the children of Israel saw the fire descending, and the glory of the Lord was upon the house: and they fell upon their face to the ground on the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord; for [it is] good [to do so], because his mercy [endures] for ever.
4 Pea hili ia naʻe ʻatu ai ʻe he tuʻi pea mo e kakai fulipē ʻae ngaahi feilaulau ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova.
And the king and all the people [were] offering sacrifices before the Lord.
5 Pea naʻe ʻatu ʻe Solomone ha feilaulau, ko e fanga pulu ʻe ua mano mo e ua afe, mo e fanga sipi ʻe taha kilu mo e ua mano: pea pehē, naʻe fakatapui ʻae fale ʻoe ʻOtua ʻe he tuʻi pea mo e kakai kotoa pē.
And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of calves twenty and two thousand, of sheep a hundred and twenty thousand: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
6 Pea naʻe fai ʻe he kau taulaʻeiki ki heʻenau ngaahi ngāue: ko e kau Livai foki mo e ngaahi meʻa fasi hiva kia Sihova, ʻaia naʻe ngaohi ʻe Tevita ke hiva ʻaki kia Sihova, koeʻuhi ko e taʻengata ʻa ʻene ʻaloʻofa, ʻi heʻene fai fakafetaʻi ʻe Tevita ʻi heʻenau ngāue: pea naʻe fakaongo ʻe he kau taulaʻeiki ʻae ngaahi meʻalea ʻi honau ʻao, pea naʻe tutuʻu ʻa ʻIsileli kātoa ki ʻolunga.
And the priests were standing at their watches, and the Levites with instruments of music of the Lord, belonging to king David, to give thanks before the Lord, for his mercy [endures] for ever, with the hymns of David, by their ministry: and the priests were blowing the trumpets before them, and all Israel standing.
7 Pea naʻe fakatapui foki ʻe Solomone ʻae potu ki loto ʻoe lotoʻā ʻaia naʻe ʻi he ʻao ʻoe fale ʻo Sihova: he naʻa ne ʻatu ʻi he potu ko ia ʻae ngaahi feilaulau tutu, mo e ngako ʻoe ngaahi feilaulau fakamelino, he koeʻuhi naʻe ʻikai faʻa hao ʻi he feilaulauʻanga palasa ʻaia naʻe ngaohi ʻe Solomone, ʻae ngaahi feilaulau tutu, mo e ngaahi feilaulau meʻakai, pea mo e ngako.
And Solomon consecrated the middle of the court that was in the house of the Lord: for he offered there the whole-burnt-offerings and the fat of the peace-offerings, for the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not sufficient to receive the whole-burnt-offerings, and the meat-offerings, and the fat.
8 Pea ʻi he kuonga foki ko ia naʻe fai ʻae kātoanga ʻe Solomone ʻi he ʻaho ʻe fitu, pea naʻe fakataha ʻa ʻIsileli kātoa mo ia, ko e fuʻu fakataha lahi, mei he hūʻanga ki Hamati ʻo aʻu ki he vaitafe ʻo ʻIsipite.
And Solomon kept the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entering in of Aemath, and as far as the river of Egypt.
9 Pea ʻi hono valu ʻoe ʻaho naʻa nau fai ʻae fakataha molumalu: he naʻa nau fai ʻae fakatapui ʻoe feilaulauʻanga ʻi he ʻaho ʻe fitu, pea mo e kātoanga ʻi he ʻaho ʻe fitu.
And on the eighth day he kept a solemn assembly: for he kept a feast of seven days as the dedication of the altar.
10 Pea ʻi hono uofulu ma tolu ʻoe ʻaho ʻi hono fitu ʻoe māhina naʻa ne fekau ke ʻalu ʻae kakai ki honau ngaahi fale, ʻi he fiefia mo e nekeneka ʻi loto koeʻuhi ko e angalelei naʻe fakahā ʻe Sihova kia Tevita, pea kia Solomone, pea ki hono kakai ʻIsileli.
And on the twenty-third day of the seventh month he dismissed the people to their tents, rejoicing, and with a glad heart because of the good deeds which the Lord had done to David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.
11 Naʻe pehē ʻae fakaʻosi ʻe Solomone ʻae fale ʻo Sihova, pea mo e fale ʻoe tuʻi: pea ko e meʻa kotoa pē naʻe fakakaukau ki ai ʻa Solomone ʻi hono loto ke fai ʻi he fale ʻo Sihova, pea ʻi hono fale ʻoʻona, naʻa ne fai monitonu pe ia.
So Solomon finished the house of the Lord, and the king's house: and in whatever Solomon wished in his heart to do in the house of the Lord and in his own house, he prospered.
12 Pea naʻe hā mai ʻa Sihova kia Solomone ʻi he pō, mo ne pehē kiate ia, “Kuo u fanongo ki hoʻo lotu, pea kuo u fili ʻae potu ni moʻoku ko e fale ke fai ai ʻae feilaulau.
And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, I have heard thy prayer, and I have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.
If I should restrain the heaven and there should be no rain, and if I should command the locust to devour the trees, and if I should send pestilence upon my people;
14 Pea kapau ʻe fakavaivai mai ʻa hoku kakai ʻoku ui ʻaki ʻa hoku huafa, pea nau lotu, mo nau kumi ki hoku fofonga, pea nau tafoki mei honau ngaahi hala kovi: pehē, te u toki fanongo mei he langi, pea te u fakamolemole ʻenau angahala, pea te u fakamoʻui ʻa honau fonua.
then if my people, on whom my name is called, should repent, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, I also will hear from heaven, and I will be merciful to their sins, and I will heal their land.
15 Ko eni, ʻe ʻā ʻa hoku mata, pea ʻe tokanga ʻa hoku telinga ki he lotu ʻe fai ʻi he potu ni.
And now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive to the prayer of this place.
16 He ko eni, kuo u fili mo fakatapui ʻae fale ni, koeʻuhi ke ʻi ai ʻa hoku hingoa ʻo taʻengata: pea ʻe ʻi ai ʻa hoku mata mo hoku loto maʻuaipē.
And now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that my name should be there for ever: and my eyes and my heart shall be there always.
17 Pea koeʻuhi ko koe, kapau te ke ʻalu ʻi hoku ʻao, ʻo hangē ko e ʻalu ʻa Tevita ko hoʻo tamai, pea ke fai ʻae meʻa kotoa pē kuo u fekau kiate koe, pea ke tokanga ki heʻeku ngaahi fono mo ʻeku ngaahi fakamaau:
And if thou wilt walk before me as David thy father [did], and wilt do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my ordinances and my judgments;
then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom, as I covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man ruling in Israel.
19 Pea kapau te mou tafoki atu, mo liʻaki ʻa ʻeku ngaahi fono mo ʻeku ngaahi fekau, ʻaia kuo u tuku ʻi homou ʻao, pea mou ʻalu mo tauhi ki he ngaahi ʻotua kehe, mo lotu ki ai:
But if ye should turn away, and forsake my ordinances and my commandments, which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them;
then will I remove you from the land which I gave them; and this house which I have consecrated to my name I will remove out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a by-word among all nations.
21 Pea ko e fale ni, ʻoku māʻolunga ni, ʻe hoko ko e ofoʻanga kiate ia kotoa pē ʻe ʻalu ofi ki ai: ko ia te ne pehē ai, ‘Ko e hā kuo fai pehē ai ʻe Sihova ki he fonua ni, pea ki he fale ni?’
And [as for] this lofty house, every one that passes by it shall be amazed, and shall say, Wherefore has the Lord done [thus] to this land, and to this house?
22 Pea ʻe tali ʻo pehēange, ‘Koeʻuhi naʻa nau siʻaki ʻa Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻenau ngaahi tamai, ʻaia naʻa ne ʻomi ʻakinautolu mei he fonua ko ʻIsipite, mo nau puke ki he ngaahi ʻotua kehe, mo lotu ki ai, mo tauhi kiate kinautolu: ko ia ia kuo ne ʻomi ʻe ia ʻae kovi ni kotoa pē kiate kinautolu.’”
And [men] shall say, Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and they attached themselves to other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: and therefore he has brought upon them all this evil.
