எரேமியா 13
1 ௧ யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: நீ போய், உனக்கு ஒரு சணல் கச்சையை வாங்கி, அதை உன் இடுப்பில் கட்டிக்கொள்; அதில் தண்ணீர் படவிடாதே என்றார்.
Yahweh said this to me, “Go and buy a linen undergarment and put it on around your waist, but do not put it in water first.”
So I bought an undergarment as Yahweh directed, and I put in on around my waist.
Then the word of Yahweh came to me a second time, saying,
4 ௪ நீ வாங்கினதும் உன் இடுப்பில் இருக்கிறதுமான கச்சையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு எழுந்து, ஐப்பிராத்து நதிவரை போய், அதை அங்கே ஒரு கன்மலை வெடிப்பில் ஒளித்துவை என்றார்.
“Take the undergarment that you purchased that is around your waist, get up and go now to Perath. Hide it there in a rock crevice.”
So I went and hid it in Perath, just as Yahweh had commanded me.
6 ௬ அநேக நாட்கள் சென்றபின்பு யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: நீ எழுந்து ஐப்பிராத்து நதிக்குப்போய் அங்கே ஒளித்துவைக்க நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட கச்சையை அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவா என்றார்.
After many days, Yahweh said to me, “Get up and go back to Perath. Take from there the undergarment that I had told you to hide.”
7 ௭ அப்பொழுது நான் ஐப்பிராத்து நதிக்குப்போய், கச்சையை ஒளித்துவைத்த இடத்தில் தோண்டி அதை எடுத்தேன்; ஆனால், இதோ, அந்தக் கச்சை கெட்டு ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாமல் போனது.
So I went back to Perath and dug out the undergarment where I had hid it, and behold, it was destroyed and completely useless.
Then the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
“Yahweh says this: In the same way I will destroy the great arrogance of Judah and Jerusalem.
10 ௧0 என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்கமாட்டோம் என்று மறுத்து, தங்கள் இருதயத்தின் கடினத்தின்படி நடந்து, அந்நிய தெய்வங்களை வணங்கி அவர்களைப் பணிந்துகொள்ளவும் அவர்களைப் பின்பற்றுகிற இந்தப் பொல்லாத மக்கள் ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாமற்போன இந்தக் கச்சையைப் போலாவார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
This wicked people who refuses to listen to my word, who walk in the hardness of their heart, who go after other gods to worship them and bow down to them—they will be like this undergarment that is good for nothing.
11 ௧௧ கச்சையானது மனிதனுடைய இடுப்பில் இணைக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கிறதுபோல, நான் இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தார் அனைவரையும் யூதாவின் குடும்பத்தார் அனைவரையும், எனக்கு மக்களாகவும், கீர்த்தியாகவும், துதியாகவும், மகிமையாகவும் இணைத்துக்கொண்டேன்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் கேட்காமற்போனார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
For just as an undergarment clings to someone's hips, so I have made all the house of Israel and all the house of Judah cling to me—this is Yahweh's declaration—to be my people, to bring me fame, praise, and honor. But they would not listen to me.
12 ௧௨ எல்லா பாத்திரங்களும் திராட்சைரசத்தினால் நிரப்பப்படுமென்று, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்கிறார் என்ற வார்த்தையை அவர்களுடனே சொல்; அதற்கு அவர்கள்: எல்லா பாத்திரங்களும் திராட்சைரசத்தினால் நிரப்பப்படுவது எங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதா என்று உன்னுடனே சொல்லுவார்கள்.
So you must speak this word to them, 'Yahweh, the God of Israel, says this: Every jar will be filled with wine.' They will say to you, 'Do we not indeed know that every jar will be filled with wine?'
13 ௧௩ அப்பொழுது நீ அவர்களை நோக்கி: இதோ, இந்தத் தேசத்தின் குடிகளெல்லோரையும், தாவீதின் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிற ராஜாக்களையும், ஆசாரியர்களையும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும், எருசலேமின் குடிமக்கள் எல்லோரையும் நான் வெறியினால் நிரப்பி,
So say to them, 'Yahweh says this: See, I am about to fill with drunkenness every inhabitant of this land, the kings who sit on David's throne, the priests, prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
14 ௧௪ தகப்பன்களும் பிள்ளைகளுமாகிய அவர்களை ஒருவர்மேல் ஒருவர் மோதி விழும்படிச்செய்வேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; நான் அவர்களை அழிப்பதேயன்றி மன்னிப்பதுமில்லை, தப்பவிடுவதுமில்லை, இரங்குவதுமில்லையென்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.
Then I will smash each man against the other, fathers and children together—this is Yahweh's declaration—I will not pity them or have compassion, and I will not spare them from destruction.'”
Listen and pay attention. Do not be arrogant, for Yahweh had spoken.
16 ௧௬ அவர் அந்தகாரத்தை வரச்செய்வதற்கு முன்னும், இருண்ட மலைகளில் உங்கள் கால்கள் தடுமாறுவதற்கு முன்னும், நீங்கள் வெளிச்சத்திற்குக் காத்திருக்கும்போது, அவர் அதை இருளும் காரிருளுமாக மாறச்செய்வதற்கு முன்னும், உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு மகிமையைச் செலுத்துங்கள்.
Give honor to Yahweh your God before he brings darkness, and before he causes your feet to stumble on the mountains at twilight. For you are hoping for light, but he will turn the place into a deep darkness, into a dark cloud.
17 ௧௭ நீங்கள் இதைக் கேளாமற்போனால், என் ஆத்துமா மறைவிடங்களில் உங்கள் பெருமையினிமித்தம் துக்கித்து, யெகோவாவுடைய மந்தை சிறைப்பட்டுப்போனதென்று என் கண் மிகவும் அழுது கண்ணீர் சொரியும்.
So if you will not listen, I will weep alone because of your arrogance. My eyes will certainly weep and flow with tears, for Yahweh's flock has been taken captive.
18 ௧௮ நீங்கள் ராஜாவையும் ராஜாத்தியையும் நோக்கி: கீழேவந்து உட்காருங்கள்; உங்கள் தலையின் அலங்காரமாகிய உங்கள் மகிமையின் கிரீடம் விழுந்ததென்று சொல்லுங்கள்.
“Say to the king and to the queen mother, 'Come down from your thrones, for your splendid crowns have fallen from your heads.'
19 ௧௯ தெற்கிலுள்ள பட்டணங்கள் அடைக்கப்பட்டன; அவைகளைத் திறப்பார் இல்லை; யூதா அனைத்தும் குடியில்லாமல்போகும்; அது எளிதாகச் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போகும்.
The cities in the Negev will be shut up, with no one to open them. All Judah will be taken captive, completely taken captive.
20 ௨0 உங்கள் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, வடக்கிலிருந்து வருகிறவர்களைப் பாருங்கள்; உனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்த மந்தையும், உன் மகிமையான ஆட்டுக்கிடையும் எங்கே?
Lift up your eyes and look at the ones coming from the north. Where is the flock he gave to you, the flock that was so beautiful to you?
21 ௨௧ அவர் உன்னை விசாரிக்கும்போது என்ன சொல்லுவாய்? அவர்கள் உன்மேல் அதிகாரம் செலுத்துகிறவர்களும், தலைவருமாயிருக்க, நீ அவர்களைப் பழக்கப்படுத்தினாயே; கர்ப்பவதிக்குப் பிரசவவேதனை உண்டாகும்போது உண்டாகும் வேதனைகளைப்போல் வேதனைகள் உன்னைப் பிடிப்பதில்லையோ?
What will you say when God sets over you those you had trained to be your special allies? Are these not the beginnings of the labor pains that will seize you just like a woman in childbirth?
22 ௨௨ இவைகள் எனக்கு சம்பவித்தது ஏனென்று நீ உன் இருதயத்தில் சொல்வாய் என்றால், உன் மிகுதியான அக்கிரமத்தினால் உன் ஆடையின் ஓரங்கள் விலக்கப்பட்டு, உன் பாதங்கள் பலவந்தஞ்செய்யப்படுகின்றன.
Then you might say in your heart, 'Why are these things happening to me?' It will be for the multitude of your iniquities that your skirts are raised up and you have been violated.
23 ௨௩ எத்தியோப்பியன் தன் தோலையும் சிறுத்தை தன் புள்ளிகளையும் மாற்றமுடிமோ? மாற்றமுடியுமானால், தீமைசெய்யப்பழகின நீங்களும் நன்மை செய்யமுடியும்.
Can the people of Cush change their skin color, or a leopard change its spots? If so, then you yourself, although accustomed to wickedness, would be able to do good.
So I will scatter them like chaff that perishes in the desert wind.
25 ௨௫ நீ என்னை மறந்து, பொய்யை நம்பினதினால், இது உன்னுடைய தீர்மானமும், என்னால் உனக்கு அளக்கப்படும் உன்னுடைய பங்குமாயிருக்கும் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
This is what I have given to you, the portion I have decreed for you—this is Yahweh's declaration— because you have forgotten me and trusted in deceit.
So also I myself will strip your skirts off you, and your private parts will be seen.
27 ௨௭ உன் விபசாரங்களையும், உன் கனைப்புகளையும், வெளியில் மேடுகளின்மேல் நீ செய்த வேசித்தனத்தின் முறைகேடுகளாகிய உன் அருவருப்புகளையும் நான் கண்டேன்; எருசலேமே, உனக்கு ஐயோ, நீ சுத்தமாக்கப்படமாட்டாயா? இது இன்னும் எத்தனை காலம் வரைக்கும் நடக்கும் என்கிறார்.
I have seen your adultery and neighing, the wickedness of your prostitution on the hills and in the fields, and I have seen these detestable things! Woe to you, Jerusalem! How long until you are made clean again?”
