ஆதியாகமம் 10

1 ௧ நோவாவின் மகன்களாகிய சேம், காம், யாப்பேத் என்பவர்களின் வம்சவரலாறு: வெள்ளப்பெருக்குக்குப் பின்பு அவர்களுக்கு மகன்கள் பிறந்தார்கள்.

This is the account of Noah’s sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, who also had sons after the flood.

2 ௨ யாப்பேத்தின் மகன்கள் கோமர், மாகோகு, மாதாய், யாவான், தூபால், மேசேக்கு, தீராஸ் என்பவர்கள்.

The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

3 ௩ கோமரின் மகன்கள் அஸ்கினாஸ், ரீப்பாத்து, தொகர்மா என்பவர்கள்.

The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

4 ௪ யாவானின் மகன்கள் எலீசா, தர்ஷீஸ், கித்தீம், தொதானீம் என்பவர்கள்.

And the sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites, and the Rodanites.

5 ௫ இவர்களால் மத்திய தரைக்கடல் தீவுகள் அவனவன் மொழியினடிப்படையிலும், அவரவர்கள் கோத்திரத்தின்படியேயும், சந்ததியின்படியேயும் வெவ்வேறு தேசங்களாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டன.

From these, the maritime peoples separated into their territories, according to their languages, by clans within their nations.

6 ௬ காமுடைய மகன்கள் கூஷ், மிஸ்ராயீம், பூத், கானான் என்பவர்கள்.

The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

7 ௭ கூஷூடைய மகன்கள் சேபா, ஆவிலா, சப்தா, ராமா, சப்திகா என்பவர்கள். ராமாவின் மகன்கள் சேபா, திதான் என்பவர்கள்.

The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. And the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

8 ௮ கூஷ் நிம்ரோதைப் பெற்றெடுத்தான்; இவன் பூமியிலே பராக்கிரமசாலியானான்.

Cush was the father of Nimrod, who began to be a mighty one on the earth.

9 ௯ இவன் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாகப் பலத்த வேட்டைக்காரனாக இருந்தான்; ஆகையால், “யெகோவா முன்பாகப் பலத்த வேட்டைக்காரனான நிம்ரோதைப்போல” என்னும் வழக்கச்சொல் உண்டானது.

He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; so it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD.”

10 ௧0 சிநெயார் தேசத்திலுள்ள பாபேல், ஏரேக், அக்காத், கல்னே என்னும் இடங்கள் அவன் ஆண்ட ராஜ்யத்திற்கு முதன்மையான இடங்கள்.

His kingdom began in Babylon, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

11 ௧௧ அந்தத் தேசத்திலிருந்து அசூர் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், நினிவேயையும், ரெகொபோத் பட்டணத்தையும், காலாகையும்,

From that land he went forth into Assyria, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,

12 ௧௨ நினிவேக்கும் காலாகுக்கும் நடுவாக ரெசேனையும் கட்டினான்; இது பெரிய பட்டணம்.

and Resen, which is between Nineveh and the great city of Calah.

13 ௧௩ மிஸ்ராயீம் லூதீமையும், அனாமீமையும், லெகாபீமையும், நப்தூகீமையும்,

Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, the Anamites, the Lehabites, the Naphtuhites,

14 ௧௪ பத்ருசீமையும், பெலிஸ்தரின் சந்ததிக்குத் தலைவனாகிய கஸ்லூகிமையும், கப்தொரீமையும் பெற்றெடுத்தான்.

the Pathrusites, the Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came), and the Caphtorites.

15 ௧௫ கானான் தன் மூத்தமகனாகிய சீதோனையும், ஏத்தையும்,

And Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites,

16 ௧௬ எபூசியர்களையும், எமோரியர்களையும், கிர்காசியர்களையும்,

the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,

17 ௧௭ ஈவியர்களையும், அர்கீரியர்களையும், சீனியர்களையும்,

the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,

18 ௧௮ அர்வாதியர்களையும், செமாரியர்களையும், ஆமாத்தியர்களையும் பெற்றெடுத்தான்; பின்பு கானானியர்களின் வம்சத்தார்கள் எங்கும் பரவினார்கள்.

the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Later the Canaanite clans were scattered,

19 ௧௯ கானானியர்களின் எல்லை சீதோன்முதல் கேரார் வழியாகக் காசாவரைக்கும், அங்கிருந்து சோதோம், கொமோரா, அத்மா, செபோயீம் வழியாக லாசாவரைக்கும் இருந்தது.

and the borders of Canaan extended from Sidon toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

20 ௨0 இவர்களே தங்களுடைய தேசங்களிலும், மக்களிலுமுள்ள தங்களுடைய வம்சங்களின்படியேயும், மொழிகளின்படியேயும் காமுடைய சந்ததியினர்.

These are the sons of Ham according to their clans, languages, lands, and nations.

21 ௨௧ சேமுக்கும் பிள்ளைகள் பிறந்தார்கள்; அவன் ஏபேருடைய சந்ததியினர் எல்லோருக்கும் தகப்பனும், மூத்தவனாகிய யாப்பேத்துக்குத் தம்பியுமாக இருந்தான்.

And sons were also born to Shem, the older brother of Japheth; Shem was the forefather of all the sons of Eber.

22 ௨௨ சேமுடைய மகன்கள் ஏலாம், அசூர், அர்பக்சாத், லூத், ஆராம் என்பவர்கள்.

The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.

23 ௨௩ ஆராமுடைய மகன்கள் ஊத்ஸ், கூல், கேத்தெர், மாஸ் என்பவர்கள்.

The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.

24 ௨௪ அர்பக்சாத் சாலாவைப் பெற்றெடுத்தான்; சாலா ஏபேரைப் பெற்றெடுத்தான்.

Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah was the father of Eber.

25 ௨௫ ஏபேருக்கு இரண்டு மகன்கள் பிறந்தார்கள்; ஒருவனுக்கு பேலேகு என்று பெயர்; ஏனெனில் அவனுடைய நாட்களில் பூமி பிரிக்கப்பட்டது; அவனுடைய சகோதரன் பெயர் யொக்தான்.

Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his days the earth was divided, and his brother was named Joktan.

26 ௨௬ யொக்தான் அல்மோதாதையும், சாலேப்பையும், அசர்மாவேத்தையும், யேராகையும்,

And Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

27 ௨௭ அதோராமையும், ஊசாலையும், திக்லாவையும்,

Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

28 ௨௮ ஓபாலையும், அபிமாவேலையும், சேபாவையும்,

Obal, Abimael, Sheba,

29 ௨௯ ஓப்பீரையும், ஆவிலாவையும், யோபாபையும் பெற்றெடுத்தான்; இவர்கள் அனைவரும் யொக்தானுடைய மகன்கள்.

Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.

30 ௩0 இவர்களுடைய குடியிருப்பு மேசாதுவங்கி, கிழக்கேயுள்ள மலையாகிய செப்பாருக்குப் போகிற வழிவரைக்கும் இருந்தது.

Their territory extended from Mesha to Sephar, in the eastern hill country.

31 ௩௧ இவர்களே தங்களுடைய தேசங்களிலும், மக்களிலுமுள்ள தங்களுடைய வம்சங்களின்படியேயும், மொழிகளின்படியேயும் சேமுடைய சந்ததியினர்.

These are the sons of Shem, according to their clans, languages, lands, and nations.

32 ௩௨ தங்களுடைய மக்களிலுள்ள சந்ததிகளின்படியே நோவாவுடைய மகன்களின் வம்சங்கள் இவைகளே; வெள்ளப்பெருக்குக்குப் பிறகு இவர்களால் பூமியிலே மக்கள் பிரிந்தனர்.

All these are the clans of Noah’s sons, according to their generations and nations. From these the nations of the earth spread out after the flood.
