உபாகமம் 29
1 ௧ ஓரேபிலே இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுடன் செய்துகொண்ட உடன்படிக்கையை அல்லாமல், மோவாபின் தேசத்திலே அவர்களுடன் உடன்படிக்கைசெய்ய யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட வார்த்தைகள் இவைகளே.
The following are the terms of the agreement that the Lord ordered Moses to make with the Israelites in the country of Moab This was in addition to the agreement he had made with them at Horeb.
2 ௨ மோசே இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் எல்லோரையும் வரவழைத்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: “எகிப்து தேசத்தில் உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகப் பார்வோனுக்கும் அவனுடைய எல்லா ஊழியக்காரர்களுக்கும் அவனுடைய தேசம் முழுவதற்கும்,
Moses called all the Israelites together and announced to them, You saw with your own eyes everything the Lord did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials, and to his whole country.
You saw with your own eyes the amazing tests, and those great signs and miracles.
4 ௪ என்றாலும் யெகோவா உங்களுக்கு உணரத்தக்க இருதயத்தையும், காணத்தக்கக் கண்களையும், கேட்கத்தக்கக் காதுகளையும் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் கொடுக்கவில்லை.
But up to now the Lord has not given you minds that understand, or eyes that see, or ears that hear, saying,
5 ௫ யெகோவாவாகிய நான் உங்கள் தேவன் என்று நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்வதற்காக, நான் நாற்பது வருடங்கள் உங்களை வனாந்திரத்தில் நடத்தினேன்; உங்களுடைய ஆடைகள் பழையதாகப் போகவும் இல்லை, உங்கள் காலிலிருந்த காலணிகள் பழையதாகப் போகவும் இல்லை.
For forty years I led you through the desert, but your clothes and sandals didn't wear out.
You didn't have bread to eat, or wine or alcohol to drink in order that you would realize that I am the Lord your God.
7 ௭ நீங்கள் இவ்விடத்திற்கு வந்தபோது, எஸ்போனின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனும், பாசானின் ராஜாவாகிய ஓகும் நம்முடன் போர்செய்யப் புறப்பட்டார்கள்; நாம் அவர்களைத் தோற்கடித்து,
When we arrived here, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan marched out to fight us in battle, but we defeated them.
8 ௮ அவர்களுடைய தேசத்தைப் பிடித்து, அதை ரூபனியர்களுக்கும் காத்தியர்களுக்கும் மனாசேயின் பாதிக் கோத்திரத்திற்கும் சொந்தமாகக் கொடுத்தோம்.
We took their land and gave it to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh to own.
9 ௯ இப்பொழுதும் நீங்கள் செய்வதெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு வாய்ப்பதற்கு, இந்த உடன்படிக்கையின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு, அவைகளின்படி செய்வீர்களாக.
So make sure you keep and follow the terms of this agreement in order that you may be successful in everything you do.
10 ௧0 “உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குச் சொன்னபடியேயும், உன் முற்பிதாக்களாகிய ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் வாக்குக்கொடுத்தபடியேயும், இன்று உன்னைத் தமக்கு மக்களாக ஏற்படுத்திக்கொள்ளவும், தாம் உனக்கு தேவனாயிருக்கவும்,
Every one of you is stand here today before the Lord your God: you tribal leaders, officials, and all the men of Israel,
11 ௧௧ நீ உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய உடன்படிக்கைக்கும் இன்று அவர் உன்னுடன் செய்கிற அவருடைய வாக்குறுதிக்கும் உட்படுவதற்கு,
your children and wives, and the foreigners in your camps who cut your firewood and carry your water.
12 ௧௨ உங்கள் கோத்திரங்களின் தலைவர்களும் உங்கள் மூப்பர்களும் உங்கள் அதிபதிகளும் இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லா ஆண்களும்,
You're here so you can enter into the agreement of the Lord your God, which he is making with you today, and accept his solemn promise,
13 ௧௩ உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும், மனைவிகளும், உங்கள் முகாமிற்குள்ளிருக்கிற விறகுக்காரனும், தண்ணீர்க்காரனுமான அந்நியர்கள் எல்லோரும் இன்று உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய சமுகத்தில் நிற்கிறீர்களே.
and so he can confirm you today as his people. He will be your God as he told you and as he promised your forefathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
It's not only with you that the Lord is making this agreement and solemn promise,
15 ௧௫ இன்று இங்கே நம்முடனும், நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய சமுகத்தில் நிற்கிறவர்களுடனும், இன்று இங்கே நம்முடன் இல்லாதவர்களுடனும் அதைச்செய்கிறேன்.
those who are standing here with us today in the presence of the Lord our God, but also with those who are not here today.
16 ௧௬ நாம் எகிப்து தேசத்தில் குடியிருந்ததையும், நாம் கடந்துவந்த இடங்களிலிருந்த மக்களின் நடுவில் நடந்துவந்ததையும் நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.
You know very well what it was like when we lived in the land of Egypt and our experiences as we passed through the nations on the way here.
17 ௧௭ அவர்களுடைய அருவருப்புகளையும், அவர்களிடத்திலிருக்கிற மரமும் கல்லும் வெள்ளியும் பொன்னுமான அவர்களுடைய நரகலான தெய்வங்களையும் கண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்.
You saw their disgusting religious practices and their idols of wood and stone, and silver and gold.
18 ௧௮ ஆகையால், அந்த மக்களின் தெய்வங்களை வணங்கப்போகும்படி, இன்று நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை விட்டு விலகுகிற இருதயமுள்ள ஒரு ஆணாகிலும், பெண்ணாகிலும் குடும்பமாகிலும் கோத்திரமாகிலும் உங்களில் இல்லாதபடிக்கும், விஷத்தையும் கசப்பையும் முளைப்பிக்கிற எந்தவொரு வேர் உங்களில் இல்லாமலிருக்கப்பாருங்கள்.
You need to make sure today that there's no man or woman, family or tribe of yours who wants to turn from the Lord our God and go and worship the gods of these nations. Make sure there is nothing like that among you that would produce such poison and bitterness.
19 ௧௯ அப்படிப்பட்டவன் இந்த வாக்குறுதியின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டும், தாகத்தினாலே வெறிக்கக் குடித்து, மன விருப்பத்தின்டி நடந்தாலும் எனக்குச் சுகமுண்டாயிருக்கும் என்று தன் உள்ளத்தைத் தேற்றிக்கொண்டால், யெகோவா அவனை மன்னிக்க விரும்பமாட்டார்.
For when someone like that hears the words of this solemn promise, they think they'll still receive a blessing, telling themselves, “I'll be safe, even though I'll go on doing whatever I feel like.” Such an attitude would destroy good and bad alike.
20 ௨0 அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவின் கோபமும் எரிச்சலும் அந்த மனிதன்மேல் புகையும்; இந்தப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிற சாபங்களெல்லாம் அவன்மேல் வரும்; யெகோவா அவன் பெயரை வானத்தின்கீழ் இல்லாமல் அழித்துப்போடுவார்.
The Lord would never want to pardon them. In fact, his passionate anger will burn against them, and every curse written in this book will fall on them. The Lord will erase their name from the earth,
21 ௨௧ இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாண புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிற உடன்படிக்கையினுடைய எல்லா சாபங்களின்படியும் அவனுக்குத் தீங்காக இஸ்ரவேல் யெகோவா கோத்திரங்கள் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் அவனை வெளியேற்றிப்போடுவார்.
and punish them as an example of them for all the Israelite tribes, in accordance with all the curses of the agreement written in this Book of the Law.
22 ௨௨ அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குப்பின் வரும் தலைமுறையான உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும், தூரதேசத்திலிருந்து வரும் அந்நியர்களும், யெகோவா இந்த தேசத்திற்கு வரச்செய்த வாதைகளையும் நோய்களையும் காணும்போதும்,
Later generations, your descendants and foreigners from far away, will see how the Lord has brought disaster on the country and devastated it.
23 ௨௩ யெகோவா தமது கோபத்திலும், பயங்கரத்திலும் சோதோமையும், கொமோராவையும், அத்மாவையும், செபோயீமையும் கவிழ்த்துப்போட்டதுபோல, இந்த தேசத்தின் நிலங்களெல்லாம் விதைப்பும் விளைவும் எந்தவொரு பூண்டின் முளைப்பும் இல்லாதபடி, கந்தகத்தாலும், உப்பாலும் எரிக்கப்பட்டதைக் காணும்போதும்,
The whole country will be burning wasteland of sulfur and salt. Nothing is sown; it's totally unproductive; no plant grows there—just like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the Lord destroyed in his furious anger.
24 ௨௪ அந்த மக்களெல்லாம் யெகோவா இந்த தேசத்திற்கு ஏன் இப்படிச் செய்தார்; இந்த மகா கோபம் பற்றியெரிந்ததற்குக் காரணம் என்ன என்று சொல்லுவார்கள்.
Everyone everywhere will ask, “Why did the Lord do this to the country? Why did he get so terribly angry?”
25 ௨௫ அதற்கு: அவர்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா அவர்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்தபோது, அவர்களுடன் செய்த உடன்படிக்கையை அவர்கள் விட்டுப்போய்,
The people will answer, “It's because they abandoned the agreement of the Lord, the God of their forefathers, which he made with them when he led them out of Egypt.
26 ௨௬ தாங்கள் அறியாமலும் தங்களுக்கு ஒரு பலனும் அளிக்காமலும் இருக்கிற தெய்வங்களாகிய வேறே தெய்வங்களை வணங்கி, அவைகளைப் பணிந்துகொண்டதினாலே,
They went off and worshiped other gods, bowing down to gods they'd never heard of—gods that the Lord had not given to them.
27 ௨௭ யெகோவா இந்தப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிற சாபங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் இந்தத் தேசத்தின்மேல் வரச்செய்ய, அதின்மேல் கோபம் மூண்டவராகி,
That's why the Lord was so angry with this land, and he rained down on it every curse written in this book.
28 ௨௮ அவர்களைக் கோபத்தினாலும், பயங்கரத்தினாலும், மகா எரிச்சலினாலும் அவர்களுடைய தேசத்திலிருந்து வேரோடே பிடுங்கி, இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறதுபோல, அவர்களை வேறே தேசத்தில் எறிந்துவிட்டார் என்று சொல்லப்படும்.
The Lord uprooted them from their country in his anger, rage, and fury, and he threw them out, leaving them in another land, where they are to this day.”
29 ௨௯ “மறைவானவைகள் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கே உரியவைகள்; வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டவைகளோ, இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் வார்த்தைகளின்படியெல்லாம் செய்வதற்கு, நமக்கும் நம்முடைய பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் என்றென்றைக்கும் உரியவைகள்.
The Lord our God has secrets that belong to him, but what has been revealed belong to us and to our descendants forever, so that we may follow everything in this law.
