1 சாமுவேல் 15
1 ௧ பின்பு சாமுவேல் சவுலைப் பார்த்து: இஸ்ரவேலர்களாகிய தம்முடைய மக்கள்மேல் உம்மை ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்செய்வதற்குக் யெகோவா என்னை அனுப்பினாரே; இப்போதும் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தைகளின் சத்தத்தைக் கேளும்:
And Samuel says to Saul, “YHWH sent me to anoint you for king over His people, over Israel; and now, listen to the voice of the words of YHWH.
2 ௨ சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் எகிப்திலிருந்து வந்தபோது, அமலேக்கு அவர்களுக்கு வழிமறித்த செய்கையை மனதிலே வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.
Thus said YHWH of Hosts: I have looked after that which Amalek did to Israel, that which he laid for him in the way in his going up out of Egypt.
3 ௩ இப்போதும் நீ போய், அமலேக்கைக் கொன்று, அவனுக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் அழித்து அவன்மேல் இரக்கம் வைக்காமல், ஆண்களையும், பெண்களையும், பிள்ளைகளையும், குழந்தைகளையும், மாடுகளையும், ஆடுகளையும், ஒட்டகங்களையும், கழுதைகளையும் கொன்று போடு என்கிறார் என்று சொன்னான்.
Now go, and you have struck Amalek, and devoted all that he has, and you have no pity on him, and have put to death from man to woman, from infant to suckling, from ox to sheep, from camel to donkey.”
4 ௪ அப்பொழுது சவுல்: இதை மக்களுக்கு அறியப்படுத்தி, தெலாயிமிலே அவர்களை கணக்கெடுத்தான்; அவர்கள் இரண்டு லட்சம் காலாட்களும், யூதா மக்கள் பத்தாயிரம்பேருமாக இருந்தார்கள்.
And Saul summons the people, and inspects them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand [are] men of Judah.
And Saul comes to a city of Amalek, and lays wait in a valley;
6 ௬ சவுல் கேனியரை பார்த்து: நான் அமலேக்கியர்களோடு உங்களையும் அழிக்காதபடி, நீங்கள் அவர்கள் நடுவிலிருந்து விலகிப்போங்கள்; இஸ்ரவேல் எகிப்திலிருந்து வந்தபோது, நீங்கள் அவர்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் தயைசெய்தீர்கள் என்றான்; அப்படியே கேனியர்கள் அமலேக்கியர்களின் நடுவிலிருந்து விலகிப்போனார்கள்.
and Saul says to the Kenite, “Go, turn aside, go down from the midst of Amalek, lest I consume you with it, and you did kindness with all the sons of Israel, in their going up out of Egypt”; and the Kenite turns aside from the midst of Amalek.
7 ௭ அப்பொழுது சவுல்: ஆவிலா துவங்கி எகிப்திற்கு எதிரேயிருக்கிற சூருக்குப்போகும் எல்லை வரை இருந்த அமலேக்கியர்களை முறியடித்து,
And Saul strikes Amalek from Havilah [to] your going to Shur, which [is] on the front of Egypt,
8 ௮ அமலேக்கியர்களின் ராஜாவான ஆகாகை உயிரோடு பிடித்தான்; மக்கள் அனைவரையும் கூர்மையான பட்டயத்தாலே படுகொலை செய்தான்.
and he catches Agag king of Amalek alive, and he has devoted all the people by the mouth of the sword;
9 ௯ சவுலும் மக்களும் ஆகாகையும், ஆடுமாடுகளில் சிறந்தவைகளையும், ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளையும், நலமான எல்லாவற்றையும், அழித்துப்போட மனமில்லாமல் தப்பவைத்து, அற்பமானவைகளும் உதவாதவைகளுமான அனைத்தையும் முற்றிலும் அழித்துப்போட்டார்கள்.
and Saul has pity—also the people—on Agag, and on the best of the flock, and of the herd, and of the seconds, and on the lambs, and on all that [is] good, and have not been willing to devote them; and all the work, despised and wasted—it they devoted.
And the word of YHWH is to Samuel, saying,
11 ௧௧ நான் சவுலை ராஜாவாக்கியது எனக்கு வருத்தமாக இருக்கிறது; அவன் என்னைவிட்டுத் திரும்பி, என் வார்த்தைகளை நிறைவேற்றாமல் போனான் என்றார்; அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் மனம் வருந்தி, இரவு முழுவதும் யெகோவாவை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டான்.
“I have regretted that I caused Saul to reign for king, for he has turned back from after Me, and he has not performed My words”; and it is displeasing to Samuel, and he cries to YHWH all the night.
12 ௧௨ மறுநாள் அதிகாலையில் சாமுவேல் சவுலைச் சந்திக்கப்போனான்; அப்பொழுது சவுல் கர்மேலுக்கு வந்து, தனக்கு ஒரு வெற்றிதூண் நாட்டி, பின்பு பல இடங்களில் சென்று கில்காலுக்குப் போனான் என்று, சாமுவேலுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
And Samuel rises early to meet Saul in the morning, and it is declared to Samuel, saying, “Saul has come to Carmel, and behold, he is setting up a monument to himself, and goes around, and passes over, and goes down to Gilgal.”
13 ௧௩ சாமுவேல் சவுலினிடத்திற்கு போனான்; சவுல் அவனை நோக்கி: நீர் யெகோவாவால் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்; யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையை நிறைவேற்றினேன் என்றான்.
And Samuel comes to Saul, and Saul says to him, “Blessed [are] you of YHWH; I have performed the word of YHWH.”
14 ௧௪ அதற்குச் சாமுவேல்: அப்படியானால் என் காதுகளில் விழுகிற ஆடுகளின் சத்தமும், எனக்குக் கேட்கிற மாடுகளின் சத்தமும் என்ன என்றான்.
And Samuel says, “And what [is] the noise of this flock in my ears—and the noise of the herd which I am hearing?”
15 ௧௫ அதற்குச் சவுல்: அமலேக்கியர்களிடத்திலிருந்து அவைகளைக் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; மக்கள் ஆடுமாடுகளில் நலமானவைகளை உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பலியிடும்படிக்குத் தப்பவைத்தார்கள்; மற்றவைகளை முற்றிலும் அழித்துப்போட்டோம் என்றான்.
And Saul says, “They have brought them from Amalek, because the people had pity on the best of the flock, and of the herd, in order to sacrifice to your God YHWH, and we have devoted the remnant.”
16 ௧௬ அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல்: அந்தப் பேச்சை விடும், யெகோவா இந்த இரவில் எனக்குச் சொன்னதை உமக்கு அறிவிக்கிறேன் என்று சவுலோடே சொன்னான். அவன்: சொல்லும் என்றான்.
And Samuel says to Saul, “Desist, and I declare to you that which YHWH has spoken to me tonight”; and he says to him, “Speak.”
17 ௧௭ அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல்: நீர் உம்முடைய பார்வைக்குச் சிறியவராக இருந்தபோது அல்லவோ இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களுக்குத் தலைவரானீர்; யெகோவா உம்மை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம் செய்தாரே.
And Samuel says, “Are you not, if you [are] little in your own eyes, head of the tribes of Israel? And YHWH anoints you for king over Israel,
18 ௧௮ இப்போதும் யெகோவா: நீ போய் அமலேக்கியர்களாகிய அந்தப் பாவிகளைக் கொன்று, அவர்களை முழுவதுமாக அழிக்கும்வரை, அவர்களோடு யுத்தம்செய் என்று சொல்லி, உம்மை அந்த வழியாக அனுப்பினார்.
and YHWH sends you in the way, and says, Go, and you have devoted the sinners, the Amalekite, and fought against them until they are consumed;
19 ௧௯ இப்படியிருக்க, நீர் யெகோவாவுடைய சொல்லைக்கேட்காமல், கொள்ளைப்பொருட்களின் மேல் ஆசைவைத்து, யெகோவாவுடைய பார்வைக்குப் தீங்கானதை செய்தது என்ன என்றான்.
and why have you not listened to the voice of YHWH—and fly to the spoil, and do evil in the eyes of YHWH?”
20 ௨0 சவுல் சாமுவேலை நோக்கி: நான் யெகோவாவுடைய சொல்லைக் கேட்டு, யெகோவா என்னை அனுப்பின வழியாய்ப் போய், அமலேக்கின் ராஜாவான ஆகாகைக் கொண்டுவந்து, அமலேக்கியர்களைக் கொலை செய்தேன்.
And Saul says to Samuel, “Because—I have listened to the voice of YHWH, and I go in the way which YHWH has sent me, and bring in Agag king of Amalek, and I have devoted Amalek;
21 ௨௧ மக்களோ உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குக் கில்காலிலே பலியிடுவதற்காக, கொள்ளைப்பொருட்களிலே சாபத்தீடாகும் ஆடுமாடுகளிலே முதன்மையானவகளைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள் என்றான்.
and the people take of the spoil of the flock and herd, the first part of the devoted thing, for sacrifice to your God YHWH in Gilgal.”
22 ௨௨ அதற்குச் சாமுவேல்: “யெகோவாவுடைய சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதைவிட, சர்வாங்க தகனங்களும் பலிகளும் யெகோவாவுக்குப் பிரியமாயிருக்குமோ? பலியைவிட கீழ்ப்படிதலும், ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களின் கொழுப்பைவிட செவிகொடுத்தலும் உத்தமம்.
And Samuel says, “Has YHWH had delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices as [in] listening to the voice of YHWH? Behold, listening is better than sacrifice; to give attention than fat of rams;
23 ௨௩ கலகம்செய்தல் பில்லிசூனிய பாவத்திற்கும், பிடிவாதம்செய்தல் அவபக்திக்கும் விக்கிரக ஆராதனைக்கும் சமமாக இருக்கிறது; நீர் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையைப் புறக்கணித்ததாலே, அவர் உம்மை ராஜாவாக இல்லாதபடி புறக்கணித்துத் தள்ளினார்” என்றான்.
for rebellion [is as] a sin of divination, and stubbornness [is as] iniquity and teraphim; because you have rejected the word of YHWH, He also rejects you from [being] king.”
24 ௨௪ அப் பொழுது சவுல் சாமுவேலை நோக்கி: நான் யெகோவாவுடைய கட்டளையையும் உம்முடைய வார்த்தைகளையும் மீறினதால் பாவம் செய்தேன்; நான் மக்களுக்குப் பயந்து, அவர்கள் சொல்லைக் கேட்டேன்.
And Saul says to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I passed over the command of YHWH, and your words; because I have feared the people, I also listen to their voice;
25 ௨௫ இப்போதும் நீர் என் பாவத்தை மன்னித்து, நான் யெகோவாவை தொழுதுகொள்ளும்படி, என்னோடு திரும்பிவாரும் என்றான்.
and now, please bear with my sin, and return with me, and I bow myself to YHWH.”
26 ௨௬ சாமுவேல் சவுலைப் பார்த்து: நான் உம்மோடு திரும்பிவருவதில்லை; யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையைப் புறக்கணித்தீர்; நீர் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக இல்லாதபடி, யெகோவா உம்மையும் புறக்கணித்துத் தள்ளினார் என்றான்.
And Samuel says to Saul, “I do not return with you; for you have rejected the word of YHWH, and YHWH rejects you from being king over Israel.”
27 ௨௭ போகும்படி சாமுவேல் திரும்புகிறபோது, சவுல், அவனுடைய சால்வையின் தொங்கலைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டான், அது கிழிந்துபோயிற்று.
And Samuel turns around to go, and he lays hold on the skirt of his upper robe—and it is torn!
28 ௨௮ அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் அவனை பார்த்து: யெகோவா இன்று உம்மிடத்திலிருந்த இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜ்ஜியத்தைக் கிழித்துப்போட்டு, உம்மைவிட உத்தமனாயிருக்கிற உம்முடைய தோழனுக்கு அதைக் கொடுத்தார்.
And Samuel says to him, “YHWH has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and given it to your neighbor who is better than you;
29 ௨௯ இஸ்ரவேலின் பெலனாக இருப்பவர் பொய் சொல்லுகிறதும் இல்லை; தாம் சொன்னதிலிருந்து மனம் மாறுவதும் இல்லை; மனம் மாற அவர் மனிதன் அல்ல என்றான்.
and also, the Preeminence of Israel does not lie nor relent, for He [is] not a man that He should relent.”
30 ௩0 அதற்கு அவன்: நான் பாவம் செய்தேன்; இப்போது என் மக்களின் மூப்பர்களுக்கு முன்பாகவும், இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாகவும் நீர் என்னைக் கனப்படுத்தி, நான் உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளும்படி, என்னோடு திரும்பிவாரும் என்றான்.
And he says, “I have sinned; now please honor me before [the] elderly of my people and before Israel, and return with me; and I have bowed myself to your God YHWH.”
And Samuel turns back after Saul, and Saul bows himself to YHWH;
32 ௩௨ பின்பு சாமுவேல்: அமலேக்கின் ராஜாவான ஆகாகை என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றான்; ஆகாக் சந்தோஷமாய் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து, மரணத்தின் கசப்பு போனது நிச்சயம் என்றான்.
and Samuel says, “Bring Agag king of Amalek to me,” and Agag comes to him daintily, and Agag says, “Surely the bitterness of death has turned aside.”
33 ௩௩ சாமுவேல்: உன் பட்டயம் பெண்களைப் பிள்ளை இல்லாதவர்களாக ஆக்கினதுபோல, பெண்களுக்குள்ளே உன் தாயும் பிள்ளை இல்லாதவள் ஆவாள் என்று சொல்லி, சாமுவேல் கில்காலிலே யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக ஆகாகைத் துண்டு துண்டாக வெட்டிப்போட்டான்.
And Samuel says, “As your sword bereaved women—so is your mother bereaved above women”; and Samuel hews Agag in pieces before YHWH in Gilgal.
34 ௩௪ பின்பு சாமுவேல் ராமாவுக்குப் போனான்; சவுலோ தன் ஊராகிய கிபியாவிலிருக்கிற தன் வீட்டுக்குப் போய்விட்டான்.
And Samuel goes to Ramath, and Saul has gone to his house—to Gibeah of Saul.
35 ௩௫ சவுல் மரணமடையும் நாள்வரை சாமுவேல் அப்புறம் அவனைக் கண்டு பேசவில்லை; இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் சவுலை ராஜாவாக்கினதற்காகக் யெகோவா மன வருத்தப்பட்டதினால், சாமுவேல் சவுலுக்காகத் துக்கப்பட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
And Samuel has not added to see Saul until the day of his death, for Samuel mourned for Saul, and YHWH regretted that He had caused Saul to reign over Israel.
