1 Nitimba sifa za matendo ya uaminifu wa agano milele. Nitatangaza kweli yako kwa vizazi vijavyo.
Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
2 Maana nimesema, “Uaminifu wa agano umeimarishwa milele; na kweli yako umeiimarisha mbinguni.”
For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever; thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
3 “Nimefanya agano na wateule wangu, nimeapa kiapo kwa Daudi mtumishi wangu.
I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant;
4 Nitauimarisha uzao wako milele, na nitauimarisha utawala wako vizazi vyote.” (Selah)
Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. (Selah)
5 Mbingu husifu maajabu yako, Yahwe; kweli yako inasifiwa katika kusanyiko la watakatifu.
And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD; thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
6 Maana ni nani katika mbingu aweza kulinganishwa na Yahwe? Ambaye kati ya wana wa miungu ni kama Yahwe?
For who in the skies can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty is like unto the LORD,
7 Ni Mungu anaye heshimiwa sana katika baraza la watakatifu naye ni wakutisha kati ya wote wanao mzunguka.
A God very terrible in the council of the holy ones, and to be feared above all them that are round about him?
8 Yahwe, Mungu wa majeshi, ni nani aliye na nguvu kama wewe, Yahwe? Kweli yako inakuzunguka.
O LORD God of hosts, who is a mighty one, like unto thee, O JAH? and thy faithfulness is round about thee.
9 Wewe huitawala bahari yenye nguvu; mawimbi yainukapo, wewe huyatuliza.
Thou rulest the pride of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
10 Ulimwangamiza Rahabu kama mmoja aliye uliwa. Uliwatawanya adui zako kwa mkono wako wenye nguvu.
Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.
11 Mbingu ni zako wewe, na nchi pia. Uliiumba dunia na vyote vilivyomo.
The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
12 Uliumba kaskazini na kusini. Tabori na Hermoni hulifurahia jina lako.
The north and the south, thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon rejoice in thy name.
13 una mkono wa uweza na mkono wenye nguvu, na mkono wako wa kuume uko juu.
Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
14 Haki na hukumu ni msingi wa kiti chako. Uaminifu wa agano lako na uaminifu huja mbele zako.
Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of thy throne: mercy and truth go before thy face.
15 Wamebarikiwa watu wakuabuduo wewe! Yahwe, wanatembea katika nuru ya uso wako.
Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
16 Siku zote wanafurahia katika jina lako, na katika haki yako wanakutukuza wewe.
In thy name do they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness are they exalted.
17 Wewe ni fahari ya nguvu zao, na kwa nguvu zako tu washindi.
For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
18 Maana ngao zetu ni za kwako Yahwe; mfalme wetu ni wa Mtakatifu wa Israeli.
For our shield belongeth unto the LORD; and our king to the Holy One of Israel.
19 Muda mrefu uliopita ulizungumza na waaminfu wako katika maono; ulisema, “Nimeweka taji juu ya mwenye nguvu; nimemuinua aliyechaguliwa kutoka kati ya watu.
Then thou spakest in vision to thy saints, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
20 Nimemchagua Daudi mtumishi wangu; kwa mafuta yangu matakatifu nimempaka yeye.
I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
21 Mkono wangu utamsaidia yeye; mkono wangu utamtia nguvu.
With whom my hand shall be established; mine arm also shall strengthen him.
22 Hakuna adui atakaye mdanganya; hakuna mwana wa uovu atakaye muonea.
The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
23 Nitawaangamiza adui zake mbele yake; nitawaua wale wamchukiao.
And I will beat down his adversaries before him, and smite them that hate him.
24 Kweli yangu na uaminifu wa agano vitakuwa pamoja naye; kupitia jina langu atakuwa mshindi.
But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him; and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
25 Nitaweka mkono wake juu ya bahari na mkono wake wa kuume juu ya mito.
I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
26 Yeye ataniita, 'Wewe ni Baba yangu, Mungu wangu, na mwamba wa wokovu wangu.'
He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
27 Nitamjalia kuwa kama mzaliwa wangu wa kwanza, aliye inuliwa zaidi juu ya wafalme wa nchi.
I also will make him [my] firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.
28 Nitaongeza uaminifu wa agano langu kwake milele; na agano langu pamoja naye litakuwa salama.
My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
29 Nitaufanya uzao wake kudumu milele na kiti chake cha enzi kitadumu kama mbingu zilizo juu.
His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
30 Ikiwa watoto wake wataziacha sheria zangu na kutokutii amri zangu,
If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
31 na kama watazivunja sheria zangu na kutokuzishika amri zangu,
If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
32 ndipo nitauadhiu uasi wao kwa fimbo na uovu wao kwa makofi.
Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
33 Lakini sitauondoa kwake upendo wangu thabiti wala kutokuwa mwaminifu kwa ahadi yangu.
But my mercy will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
34 Sitavunja agano langu wala kubadilisha maneno ya midomoni mwangu.
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
35 Mara moja na kwa yote, nimeapa kwa utakatifu wangu sitamdanganya Daudi:
Once have I sworn by my holiness; I will not lie unto David;
36 uzao wake utaendelea milele na kiti chake cha enzi kama vile jua mbele yangu.
His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
37 Kitaimarishwa milele kama mwezi, shahidi mwaminifu mawinguni.” (Selah)
It shall be established for ever as the moon, and [as] the faithful witness in the sky. (Selah)
38 Lakini wewe umemtupa na kumkataa; umemkasirikia mfalme mpakwa mafuta wako.
But thou hast cast off and rejected, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.
39 Wewe umelikataa agano la mtumishi wako. Umeinajisi taji yake ardhini.
Thou hast abhorred the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown [even] to the ground.
40 Umevunja kuta zake zote. Umeharibu ngome yake.
Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to rain.
41 Wapita njia wote wamemuibia, amekuwa kitu chenye kinyaa kwa majirani zake.
All that pass by the way spoil him: he is become a reproach to his neighbours.
42 Umeinua mkono wa kuume wa adui zake; umewafurahisha adui zake wote.
Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
43 Umeyageuza makali ya upanga wake. Na hukumfanya asimame awapo vitani.
Yea, thou turnest back the edge his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
44 Umeimaliza fahari yake; umekitupa ardhini kiti chake cha enzi.
Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
45 Umefupisha siku za ujana wake. Umemfunika kwa aibu. (Selah)
The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. (Selah)
46 Mpaka lini, Yahwe? utajificha, milele? Mpaka lini hasira yako itawaka kama moto?
How long, O LORD, wilt thou hid thyself for ever? [how long] shall thy wrath burn like fire?
47 Oh, fikiria jinsi muda wangu ulivyo mfupi, na ni kwa ajili gani umewaumba wana wote wa wanadamu wasio na manufaa!
O remember how short my time is: for what vanity hast thou created all the children of men!
48 Ni nani aweza kuishi na asife, au atakaye iokoa nafsi yake dhidi ya mkono wa kuzimu? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
What man is he that shall live and not see death, that shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
49 Bwana, yako wapi matendo yako ya zamani ya uaminifu wa agano ambayo ulimwapia Daudi katika kweli yako?
Lord, where are thy former mercies, which thou swarest unto David in thy faithfulness?
50 Kumbuka, Bwana, watumishi wako walivyodhihakiwa na vile nilivyo vumilia moyoni mwangu matusi mengi dhidi ya mataifa.
Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom [the reproach of] all the mighty peoples:
51 Maadui zako wanavurumiza matusi, Yahwe; wanadhihaki nyayo za mpakwa mafuta wako.
Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD, wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
52 Atukuzwe Yahwe milele. Amina na Amina. Kitabu cha Nne
Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
