Zaburi 131

1 Yahwe, moyo wangu haujivuni wala macho yangu hayana kuburi. Sina matarajio makubwa kwa ajili yangu mwenyewe wala kujihofia kwa mambo ambayo yako juu ya uwezo wangu.

Yahweh, I am not proud and I have not thought highly about (myself/the things that I have done). And I do not concern myself about things [that you have done] that are very big or very wonderful.

2 Hakika nimejituliza na kuinyamazisha nafsi yangu; kama mtoto aliyeachishwa na mama yake, nafsi yangu ndani yangu iko kama mtoto aliye achishwa.

Instead, I am calm and peaceful, like a [small] child who lies quietly in its mother’s arms [SIM]. In the same way, I am peaceful.

3 Israeli, umtumainie Yahwe sasa na hata milele.

You [my fellow] Israelis, confidently expect that Yahweh [will do good things for you], now and forever!
