1 Hawa ndio waliokuwa wana wa Israeli: Reubeni, Simeoni, Lawi, Yuda, Isakari, Zabuloni,
These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun,
2 Dani, Yosefu, Benyamini, Naftali, Gadi na Asheri.
Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
3 Wana wa Yuda walikuwa: Eri, Onani na Shela. Hawa watatu walizaliwa kwake na mkewe Mkanaani, binti wa Shua. Eri, mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Yuda, alikuwa mwovu machoni pa Bwana, kwa hiyo Bwana alimuua.
The sons of Judah: 'Er, and Onan, and Shelah, the three [who] were born unto him of the daughter of Shua' the Canaanitess. And 'Er, the first-born of Judah, was evil in the eyes of the Lord: and he slew him.
4 Tamari, mkwewe Yuda, alimzalia wana wawili: Peresi na Zera. Yuda alikuwa na jumla ya wana watano.
And Thamar his daughter-in-law bore unto him Perez and Zerach. All the sons of Judah were five.
5 Wana wa Peresi walikuwa: Hesroni na Hamuli.
The sons of Perez: Chezron and Chamul.
6 Wana wa Zera walikuwa: Zimri, Ethani, Hemani, Kalkoli na Dara. Jumla ya wana wa Zera walikuwa watano.
And the sons of Zerach: Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara'; all of them five.
7 Mwana wa Karmi alikuwa: Akari, ambaye alileta taabu kwa Waisraeli kwa kukiuka onyo la kutokuchukua vitu vilivyokuwa vimewekwa wakfu.
And the sons of Carmi: 'Achar the troubler of Israel, who trespassed against the devoted things.
8 Mwana wa Ethani alikuwa: Azariya.
And the sons of Ethan: 'Azaryah.
9 Wana wa Hesroni walikuwa: Yerameeli, Ramu na Kalebu.
And the sons of Chezron, that were born unto him: Jerachmeel, and Ram, and Kelubai.
10 Ramu alimzaa Aminadabu, na Aminadabu akamzaa Nashoni, kiongozi wa kabila la Yuda.
And Ram begat 'Amminadab, and 'Amminadab begat Nachshon, the prince of the children of Judah;
11 Nashoni akamzaa Salmoni, Salmoni akamzaa Boazi,
And Nachshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Bo'az,
12 Boazi akamzaa Obedi, Obedi akamzaa Yese.
And Bo'az begat 'Obed, and 'Obed begat Jesse,
13 Yese akawazaa Eliabu mwanawe wa kwanza; wa pili Abinadabu, wa tatu Shimea,
And Ishai begat his first-born Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shim'a the third,
14 wa nne Nethaneli, wa tano Radai,
Nathanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,
15 wa sita Osemu, na wa saba Daudi.
Ozem the sixth, David the seventh;
16 Dada zao walikuwa Seruya na Abigaili. Wana wa Seruya walikuwa watatu: Abishai, Yoabu na Asaheli.
And their sisters were Zeruyah, and Abigayil. And the sons of Zeruyah: Abshai, and Joab, and 'Assahel, three.
17 Abigaili alikuwa mama yake Amasa, ambaye baba yake alikuwa Yetheri, Mwishmaeli.
And Abigayil bore 'Amassa: and the father of 'Amassa was Jether the Ishme'elite.
18 Kalebu mwana wa Hesroni akazaa wana na mkewe Azuba (na pia na Yeriothi). Hawa ndio wana Azuba aliomzalia Kalebu: Yesheri, Shobabu na Ardoni.
And Caleb the son of Chezron begat [children] of 'Azubah his wife, and of Jeri'oth; and these are her sons: Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon.
19 Azuba alipofariki, Kalebu akamwoa Efrathi, ambaye alimzalia Huri.
And 'Azubah died, when Caleb took unto himself Ephrath, who bore unto him Chur.
20 Huri akamzaa Uri, Uri akamzaa Bezaleli.
And Chur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezalel.
21 Hatimaye, Hesroni akakutana kimwili na binti wa Makiri babaye Gileadi (ambaye alimwoa alipokuwa na umri wa miaka sitini), naye akamzaa Segubu.
And afterward came Chezron to the daughter of Machir the father of Gil'ad, and he took her [for wife] when he was sixty years old: and she bore unto him Segub.
22 Segubu akamzaa Yairi, ambaye alitawala miji ishirini na mitatu katika Gileadi.
And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gil'ad.
23 (Lakini Geshuri na Aramu wakateka miji ya Hawoth-Yairi, pamoja na Kenathi na viunga vyake; jumla ilikuwa miji sitini.) Wote hawa walikuwa wazao wa Makiri babaye Gileadi.
But Geshur and Aram took the small towns of Jair from them, with Kenath, and the villages thereof, even sixty cities. All these [belonged to] the sons of Machir the father of Gil'ad.
24 Baada ya Hesroni kufa huko Efrathi, Abiya mjane wa Hesroni akamzalia Ashuru, aliye baba wa Tekoa.
And after Chezron was dead in Calebephratah, then bore Chezron's wife Abiyah unto him Ashchur the father of Thekoa'.
25 Wana wa Yerameeli mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Hesroni walikuwa: Ramu mzaliwa wake wa kwanza, Buna, Oreni, Osemu na Ahiya.
And the sons of Jerachmeel the first-born of Chezron were, Ram the first-born, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Achiyah.
26 Yerameeli alikuwa na mke mwingine, aliyeitwa Atara, aliyekuwa mama yake Onamu.
Yerachmeel had also another wife, whose name was 'Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
27 Wana wa Ramu mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Yerameeli walikuwa: Maasi, Yamini na Ekeri.
And the sons of Ram the first-born of Jerachmeel were, Ma'az, and Jamin, and 'Eker.
28 Wana wa Onamu walikuwa: Shamai na Yada. Wana wa Shamai walikuwa: Nadabu na Abishuri.
And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada'. And the sons of Shammai: Nadab, and Abishur.
29 Mke wa Abishuri aliitwa Abihaili, ambaye alimzalia Abani na Molidi.
And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abichayil, and she bore unto him Achban, and Molid.
30 Wana wa Nadabu walikuwa Seledi na Apaimu, lakini Seledi alikufa bila kuzaa watoto.
And the sons of Nadab: Seled, and Appayim; and Seled died without children.
31 Apaimu akamzaa: Ishi ambaye alikuwa baba wa Sheshani. Sheshani akamzaa Alai.
And the sons of Appayim: Yish'i. And the sons of Yish'i: Sheshan. And the sons of Sheshan: Achlai.
32 Wana wa Yada, nduguye Shamai walikuwa: Yetheri na Yonathani. Yetheri alikufa bila kuzaa watoto.
And the sons of Jada' the brother of Shammai: Jether, and Jonathan; and Jether died without children.
33 Wana wa Yonathani walikuwa: Pelethi na Zaza. Hawa ndio waliokuwa wazao wa Yerameeli.
And the sons of Jonathan: Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerachmeel.
34 Sheshani hakuwa na watoto wa kiume, ila wasichana tu. Alikuwa na mtumishi Mmisri aliyeitwa Yarha.
Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarcha'.
35 Sheshani akamwoza huyu mtumishi wake Yarha binti yake, akamzalia mwana jina lake Atai.
And Sheshan gave his daughter unto Jarcha' his servant for wife: and she bore unto him 'Attai.
36 Atai akamzaa Nathani, Nathani akamzaa Zabadi,
And 'Attai begat Nathan, and Nathan begat Zabad.
37 Zabadi akamzaa Eflali, Eflali akamzaa Obedi,
And Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat 'Obed.
38 Obedi akamzaa Yehu, Yehu akamzaa Azaria,
And 'Obed begat Jehu, and Jehu begat 'Azaryah,
39 Azaria akamzaa Helesi, Helesi akamzaa Eleasa,
And 'Azaryah begat Chelez, and Chelez begat El'assah,
40 Eleasa akamzaa Sismai, Sismai akamzaa Shalumu,
And El'assah begat Sissmai, and Sissmai begat Shallum.
41 Shalumu akamzaa Yekamia, naye Yekamia akamzaa Elishama.
And Shallum begat Jekamyah, and Jekamyah begat Elishama'.
42 Wana wa Kalebu nduguye Yerameeli walikuwa: Mesha mzaliwa wake wa kwanza alimzaa Zifu, naye mwanawe Maresha akamzaa Hebroni.
Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerachmeel were, Mesha', his first-born, who was the father of Ziph, and of the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.
43 Hebroni alikuwa na wana wanne: Kora, Tapua, Rekemu na Shema.
And the sons of Hebron: Korach, and Thappuach, and Rekem, and Shema'.
44 Shema alikuwa baba yake Rahamu na Rahamu alikuwa baba wa Yorkeamu na Rekemu alikuwa baba wa Shamai.
And Shema' begat Racham, the father of Jorke'am; and Rekem begat Shammai.
45 Shamai akamzaa Maoni na Maoni akamzaa Beth-Suri.
And the son of Shammai was Ma'on; and Ma'on was the father of Beth-zur.
46 Efa, suria wa Kalebu alikuwa mamaye Harani, Mosa na Gazezi. Harani alikuwa baba wa Gazezi.
And 'Ephah, Caleb's concubine, bore Charan, and Moza, and Gazez; and Charan begat Gazez.
47 Wana wa Yadai walikuwa: Regemu, Yothamu, Geshani, Peleti, Efa na Shaafu.
And the sons of Jahdai: Regem, and Jotham, and Gesham, and Pelet, and 'Ephah, and Sha'aph.
48 Maaka suria wa Kalebu alikuwa mamaye Sheberi na Tirhana.
Ma'achah, Caleb's concubine, bore Sheber, and Tirchanah.
49 Pia Maaka akamzaa Shaafu babaye Madmana, na Sheva babaye Makbena na Gibea. Kalebu alikuwa na binti jina lake Aksa.
She bore also! Sha'aph the father of Madmannah. Sheva the father of Machbena, and the father of Gib'a: ! and the daughter of Caleb was 'Achsah.
50 Hawa ndio waliokuwa wazao wa Kalebu. Wana wa Huri, mzaliwa mkuu wao wa Efrathi, walikuwa: Shobali akamzaa Kiriath-Yearimu,
These were the sons of Caleb: Benchur, the first-born of Ephratah, Shobal the father of Kiryath-ye'arim,
51 Salma akamzaa Bethlehemu, naye Harefu akamzaa Beth-Gaderi.
Salma the father of Beth-lechem, Chareph the father of Beth-gader.
52 Wazao wa Shobali, baba yake Kiriath-Yearimu, walikuwa: Haroe, nusu ya wakazi wa mji wa Menuhothi,
And Shobal the father of Kir'yath-ye'arim had sons: Haroeh, and Chazi-hammenuchoth.
53 pamoja na koo za Kiriath-Yearimu ambazo ni: Waithiri, Waputhi, Washumathi na Wamishrai. Kutokana na watu hawa walizaliwa Wasorathi na Waeshtaoli.
And the families of Kir'yath-ye'arim are the Yithrites, and the Puthites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishra'ites: from these came the Zor'athites, and the Eshthaulites.
54 Wazao wa Salma walikuwa: Bethlehemu, Wanetofathi, Atroth-Beth-Yoabu, nusu ya Wamanahathi, Wasori,
The sons of Salma: Beth-lechem, and the Netophathites, 'Ataroth of the house of Joab, and Chazi-hammanachthi, the Zor'ite.
55 pamoja na koo za waandishi zilizoishi katika mji wa Yabesi: yaani Watirathi, Washimeathi na Wasukathi. Hawa ndio Wakeni waliotokana na Hamathi, baba wa nyumba ya Rekabu.
And the families of the scribes who dwelt at Jabez: the Thirathites, the Shim'athites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came from Chammath, the father of the house of Rechab.
