Proverbios 8
1 ¿No está la sabiduría clamando, y la voz de la inteligencia sonando?
Doth not wisdom cry aloud, And understanding put forth her voice?
2 En la parte superior de las autopistas, en la intersección de las carreteras, ella toma su lugar;
Upon the top of the high places, By the wayside, In the cross-ways, She taketh her station.
3 Cuando los caminos entran a la ciudad, se hace oír su grito, en las puertas su voz es fuerte:
By the side of the gates, In the entrance of the city, In the approaches to the doors, she crieth aloud.
4 A ustedes les llamo, oh hombres; mi voz llegue a los hijos de los hombres.
“To you, O men! do I call, And my voice is to the sons of men!
5 Conviértanse en expertos en la razón, ¡oh, simples! ustedes tontos, tomen el entrenamiento de corazón.
O ye simple ones! learn wisdom, And ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart!
6 Escuchen, porque mis palabras son verdaderas, y mis labios están abiertos para dar a conocer lo recto.
Hear, for I speak excellent things, And my lips utter that which is right.
7 Porque la buena fe sale de mi boca, y los labios falsos me repugnan.
For my mouth speaketh truth, And wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8 Todas las palabras de mi boca son justicia; no hay nada falso o retorcido en ellas.
All the words of my mouth are in uprightness; There is nothing crooked or deceitful in them;
9 Todas ellas son verdad a cuya mente está despierta, y directas para aquellos que obtienen conocimiento.
They are all plain to the man of understanding, And right to those who find knowledge.
10 Toma mi enseñanza, y no plata; obtén conocimiento en lugar del mejor oro.
Receive my instruction, and not silver. And knowledge rather than choice gold!
11 Porque la sabiduría es mejor que las joyas, y todas las cosas que se desean no son nada en comparación con ella.
For wisdom is better than pearls, And no precious things are to be compared with her.
12 Yo, la sabiduría, he convertido la conducta sabia en mi pariente cercano; Me ven como el amigo especial de los propósitos sabios.
“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out the knowledge of sagacious counsels.
13 El temor del Señor se ve al odiar el mal: el orgullo, una alta opinión de uno mismo, el mal camino y la falsa lengua, me son desagradables.
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, And the deceitful mouth, do I hate.
14 El diseño inteligente y el buen sentido son míos; la razón y la fuerza son mías.
Counsel is mine, and sound reason; I am understanding; I have strength.
15 A través de mí los reyes tienen su poder, y los gobernantes dan las decisiones correctas.
By me kings reign, And princes decree justice.
16 A través de mí, los jefes tienen autoridad, y los nobles juzgan en justicia.
By me princes rule, And nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17 Los que me han dado su amor son amados por mí, y aquellos que me buscan con cuidado me hallarán.
I love them that love me, And they who seek me early shall find me.
18 La riqueza y el honor están en mis manos, incluso la riqueza sin igual y la justicia.
Riches and honor are with me; Yea, durable riches and prosperity.
19 Mejor es mi fruto que el oro, que el mejor oro; y mi aumento es más deseado que la plata.
My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold. And my revenue than choice silver.
20 En el camino de la justicia voy, en el camino de los juicios justos,
I walk in the way of righteousness, In the midst of the paths of equity.
21 pues daré a los que me aman riquezas por su herencia, haciendo llenas sus tiendas.
I cause those who love me to possess substance; Yea, I fill their treasuries.
22 El Señor me hizo el comienzo de su camino, la primera de sus obras en el pasado.
“The LORD created me, the firstling of his course, Before his works, of old;
23 Desde los días eternos, me fue dado mi lugar, desde el nacimiento de los tiempos, antes que la tierra fuese.
I was anointed from everlasting, From the beginning, even before the earth was made.
24 Cuando no había fondo, me dieron a luz, cuando no había fuentes que fluyeran con agua.
When as yet there were no deeps, I was brought forth. When there were no springs, abounding with water.
25 Antes que pusiera los montes en su lugar, antes de que nacieran las colinas,
Before the mountains were settled, Yea, before the hills, I was brought forth;
26 cuando no había hecho la tierra, ni los campos, ni el polvo del mundo.
Ere yet he had made the land and the wastes, And the first of the clods of the earth.
27 Cuando preparó los cielos, yo estaba allí: cuando puso un arco sobre la faz del abismo:
When he framed the heavens, I was there; When he drew a circle upon the face of the deep;
28 Cuando hizo fuertes los cielos arriba: cuando las fuentes del abismo se fijaron:
When he made firm the sky above, And the fountains of the deep rushed forth;
29 Cuando puso un límite al mar, para que las aguas no vayan en contra de su palabra: cuando puso en posición las bases de la tierra:
When he gave to the sea its bounds, that the waters should not pass their border; When he marked out the foundations of the earth, —
30 Entonces yo estaba a su lado, como un maestro de obras; y yo era su deleite día tras día, tocando delante de él en todo el tiempo;
Then was I by him as a master-builder; I was his delight day by day, Exulting before him at all times;
31 Jugando en su tierra; y mi deleite fue con los hijos de los hombres.
Exulting in the habitable part of his earth, And my delight was with the sons of men.
32 Escúchenme, hijos míos, porque son felices los que guardan mis caminos.
“Now, therefore, ye children, hearken to me! For happy are they who keep my ways!
33 Tomen ustedes mi enseñanza y háganse sabio; no la dejen ir.
Hear instruction, and be wise! Yea, reject it not!
34 Bienaventurado el hombre que me presta atención, mirando a mis puertas día tras día, manteniendo su lugar junto a las columnas de mi casa.
Happy the man who hearkeneth to me, Who watcheth day by day at my gates, Who waiteth at the posts of my doors;
35 Porque él que me recibe, obtiene vida, y la gracia del Señor vendrá a él.
For he that findeth me findeth life, And obtaineth favor from the LORD;
36 Pero él que se aparta de mí, hace mal a su alma: todos mis enemigos están enamorados de la muerte.
But he who misseth me doeth violence to himself; All they who hate me love death.”
