Proverbios 2
1 Hijo mío, lleva mis palabras a tu corazón, guardando mis leyes en tu mente;
My son, if thou wilt receive my sayings, and, my commandments, wilt treasure up by thee;
2 Para que tu oído preste atención a la sabiduría, y tu corazón se convierta en conocimiento.
So that thou direct, unto wisdom, thine ear, bend thy heart, unto understanding;
3 Verdaderamente, si clamas por el buen sentido, y tu pedido es por conocimiento;
Yea if, for understanding, thou cry aloud, for knowledge, utter thy voice;
4 Si la estás buscando como plata, y buscándola como riqueza almacenada;
If thou seek her as silver, and, like hid treasure, thou search for her,
5 Entonces el temor de Jehová será claro para ti, y el conocimiento de Dios será tuyo.
Then, shalt thou understand the reverence of Yahweh, and, the knowledge of God, shalt thou find.
6 Porque el Señor da sabiduría; de su boca salen el conocimiento y la razón:
For, Yahweh, giveth wisdom, out of his mouth, knowledge and understanding;
7 Él tiene la salvación almacenada para los rectos, él es un pectoral para aquellos en quienes no hay maldad;
Yea he treasureth, for the upright, safety, A shield [is he] to them who walk in integrity,
8 Vigila los caminos que son correctos, y cuida a los que le temen.
To him that observeth the paths of justice, yea, the way of his men of lovingkindness, he doth guard.
9 Entonces conocerás la justicia y la rectitud, y la conducta recta, incluso de todo buen camino.
Then, shalt thou understand righteousness and justice, and equity—every noble course.
10 Porque la sabiduría entrará en tu corazón, y el conocimiento agradará a tu alma;
When wisdom entereth thy heart, and, knowledge, to thy soul, is sweet,
11 Los propósitos sabios te cuidarán, y el conocimiento te mantendrá;
Discretion, shall watch over thee, understanding, shall preserve thee: —
12 Te da la salvación del hombre malo, de aquellos cuyas palabras son falsas;
To rescue thee from the way of the wrongful, from the man that speaketh perverse things;
13 Que dejan el camino de la justicia, para andar por caminos oscuros;
From them who forsake the paths of rectitude, to walk in the ways of darkness;
14 Quienes se complacen en la maldad, y se complacen en los malos designios del pecador;
Who rejoice to do wrong, exult in the perversities of the wrongful;
15 Cuyos caminos no son rectos, y cuyos pasos se vuelven malvados:
Whose paths, are twisted, and they are tortuous in their tracks:
16 Para sacarte del poder de la mujer extraña, que dice palabras seductoras;
To rescue thee, from the woman that is a stranger, from the female unknown, who with her speeches seduceth;
17 ¿Quién es falsa con el marido de sus primeros años, y no tiene en cuenta el acuerdo con Dios?
Who forsaketh the friend of her youth, and, the covenant of her God, hath forgotten;
18 Porque su casa está en camino a la muerte; sus pasos descienden a las sombras:
For she hath appointed, unto death, her house, and unto the shades, her courses;
19 Los que van a ella no vuelven; sus pies no se mantienen en los caminos de la vida:
None who go in unto her, come back, neither attain they unto the paths of life:
20 para que puedas seguir el camino de los hombres buenos, y seguir los pasos de los rectos.
To the end that thou walk in the way of good men, and, the paths of the righteous, that thou observe.
21 Porque los rectos vivirán en la tierra, y los buenos la tendrán por heredad.
For, the upright, shall abide on the earth, —and, the men of integrity, shall remain therein;
22 Pero los pecadores serán cortados de la tierra, y aquellos cuyos actos son falsos serán desarraigados.
But, the lawless, out of the earth, shall be cut off, and, traitors, shall they tear away therefrom.
