Job 9
1 Y Job respondió y dijo:
And Job answered, and said:
2 Verdaderamente, veo que es así: ¿y cómo es posible que un hombre pueda ser justo delante de Dios?
Indeed I know it is so, and that man cannot be justified compared with God.
3 Si un hombre deseara ir a la ley con él, no podría darle una respuesta a una de cada mil preguntas.
If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one for a thousand.
4 Él es sabio de corazón y grande en fuerza: ¿quién alguna vez endureció su rostro contra él, y le fue bien?
He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath resisted him, and hath had peace?
5 Es el que quita las montañas sin su conocimiento, derribándolas en su ira.
Who hath removed mountains, and they whom he overthrew in his wrath, knew it not.
6 Que está estremeciendo la tierra de su lugar, de modo que sus bases tiemblan:
Who shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
7 Que da órdenes al sol, y no da su luz; y quien guarda las estrellas de brillar.
Who commandeth tile sun and it riseth not: and shutteth up the stars as it were under a seal:
8 Por cuya mano se extendieron los cielos, y quién camina sobre las olas del mar:
Who alone spreadeth out the heavens, and walketh upon the waves of the sea.
9 Que hizo el Oso y Orión, y el cúmulo de estrellas, y los lugares secretos del sur;
Who maketh Arcturus, and Orion, and Hyades, and the inner parts of the south.
10 ¿Quién hace grandes cosas incomprensibles? Sí, maravillas sin número.
Who doth things great and incomprehensible, and wonderful, of which there is no number.
11 Mira, pasa a mi lado y no lo veo; sigue adelante, pero no tengo conocimiento de él.
If he come to me, I shall not see him: if he depart I shall not understand.
12 Si él extiende su mano para tomar, ¿por quién puede ser devuelta? ¿Quién le puede decir: ¿Qué estás haciendo?
If he examine on a sudden, who shall answer him? or who can say: Why dost thou so?
13 La ira de Dios no puede volverse atrás; Los ayudantes de Rahab, monstruo marino, se humillaron debajo de él.
God, whose wrath no mall can resist, and under whom they stoop that bear up the world.
14 ¿Cuánto menos puedo darle una respuesta, usando las palabras correctas para discutir con él?
What am I then, that I should answer him, and have words with him?
15 Aunque mi causa fuera buena, no podría dar una respuesta; Pediría la gracia de aquel quién es mi Juez.
I, who although I should have any just thing, would not answer, but would make supplication to my judge.
16 Si lo hubiera llamado, y él me respondiera, no tendría fe en que escucharía mi voz.
And if he should hear me when I call, I should not believe that he had heard my voice.
17 Porque su tormenta me quebranta, y mis heridas aumentan sin causa.
For he shall crush me in a whirlwind, and multiply my wounds even without cause.
18 No me dejaría respirar, pero estaría lleno de amargo dolor.
He alloweth not my spirit to rest, and he filleth me with bitterness.
19 Si es una cuestión de fuerza, él es poderoso y si se trata de una causa legal, él dice: ¿Quién me dará un día fijo?
If strength be demanded, he is most strong: if equity of judgment, no man dare bear witness for me.
20 Aunque estaba en lo correcto, mi boca me condenaría; No he hecho mal; pero esto me hace inicuo.
If I would justify myself, my own mouth shall condemn me: if I would shew myself innocent, he shall prove me wicked.
21 Si fuera perfecto; No conocería mi alma; despreciaría mi vida.
Although I should be simple, even this my soul shall be ignorant of, and I shall be weary of my life.
22 Es lo mismo para mí; por eso digo: Él pone fin al pecador y al que no ha hecho nada malo juntos.
One thing there is that I have spoken, both the innocent and the wicked he consumeth.
23 Si la muerte viene repentinamente, él se ríe de las pruebas de aquellos que no han hecho nada malo.
If he scourge, let him kill at once, and not laugh at the pains of the innocent.
24 La tierra es dada al poder del malvado; los rostros de sus jueces están cubiertos; Si no es por él, ¿quién lo ha hecho?
The earth is given into the hand of the wicked, he covereth the face of the judges thereof: and if it be not he, who is it then?
25 Mis días van más rápido que un corredor; huyen y no ven él bien.
My days have been swifter than a post: they have fled away and have not seen good.
26 Se apresuran como botes veloces, como un águila que cae repentinamente sobre su comida.
They have passed by as ships carrying fruits, as an eagle flying to the prey.
27 Si digo, olvidaré mi dolor, dejaré que mi rostro ya no esté triste y me alegraré;
If I say: I will not speak so: I change my face, and am tormented with sorrow.
28 Temeroso soy de todos mis dolores; Estoy seguro de que no seré libre del pecado en tus ojos.
I feared all my works, knowing that thou didst not spare the offender.
29 ¡No me dejarás estar libre de pecado! ¿Por qué entonces me tomo la molestia de esforzarme?
But if so also I am wicked, why have I laboured in vain?
30 Si me lavan con agua de la nieve, y me limpio las manos con jabón;
If I be washed as it were with snow waters, and my hands shall shine ever so clean:
31 Entonces cuando me empujen al sepulcro, mi propia ropa me aborrecerá.
Yet thou shalt plunge me in filth, and my garments shall abhor me,
32 Porque él no es un hombre como yo, para decirle que, podamos unirnos ante un juez.
For I shall not answer a man that is like myself: nor one that may be heard with me equally in judgment.
33 No hay nadie que tome una decisión entre nosotros, que podría tener control sobre nosotros.
There is none that may be able to reprove both, and to put his hand between both.
34 Que quite de mi su vara y su temor no me espante.
Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me.
35 Entonces diría lo que tengo en mente sin temor de él; porque no hay causa de miedo en mí.
I will speak, and will not fear him: for I cannot answer while I am in fear.
