Génesis 33
1 Entonces Jacob, levantando los ojos, vio a Esaú que venía con sus cuatrocientos hombres. Entonces hizo una división de los niños entre Lea y Raquel y las dos sirvientas.
Then Jacob lifted up his eyes and looked, and lo! Esau, coming in, —and with him, four hundred men. So he divided the children—unto Leah and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids;
2 Puso los siervos y sus hijos delante, Lea y sus hijos después de ellos, y Raquel y José detrás.
and put the handmaids and their children first, —and Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph next;
3 Y él mismo, yendo delante de ellos, se echó sobre su rostro a la tierra siete veces hasta acercarse a su hermano.
but he himself, passed over before them, and bowed himself to the earth seven times, until he had come near unto his brother.
4 Entonces Esaú corrió hacia él y, abrazándolo, le dio un beso; y los dos se llenaron de lágrimas.
Then ran Esau to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, —and they wept.
5 Entonces Esaú, levantando los ojos, vio a las mujeres y los niños, y dijo: ¿Quiénes son éstos contigo? Y él dijo: Los hijos que Dios en su misericordia ha dado a tu siervo.
Then lifted he up his eyes, and beheld the women and the children, and said What are these to thee? And he said—The children wherewith God hath favoured thy servant,
6 Entonces se acercaron los criados y sus hijos, y se postraron sobre sus rostros.
Then came near the handmaids, they—and their children, —and bowed themselves.
7 Y Lea se acercó con sus hijos, y luego a José y Raquel, e hicieron lo mismo.
Then came near Leah also with her children, —and they bowed themselves. And afterwards, came near Joseph with Rachel, and they bowed themselves,
8 Y él dijo: ¿Qué fueron todas aquellas vacas que vi en el camino? Y Jacob dijo: Eran una ofrenda para que yo pudiera tener gracia en los ojos de mi señor.
Then said he, What to thee is all this camp, which I have fallen in with? And he said, —To find favour in the eyes of my lord.
9 Pero Esaú dijo: Tengo suficiente; guarda lo que es tuyo, mi hermano, para ti.
Then said Esau, I have an abundance, —my brother, be thine what thou hast!
10 Y Jacob dijo: No es así; pero si tengo gracia en tus ojos, tómalos como señal de mi amor, porque he visto tu rostro como uno puede ver el rostro de Dios, y has estado complacido conmigo.
Then said Jacob, Nay, I pray thee, if, I pray thee, I have found favour in thine eyes, then thou wilt take my present at my hand, —For on this account, hath my seeing thy face been like seeing the face of God in that thou wast well-pleased with me.
11 Toma mi ofrenda entonces, con mi bendición; porque Dios ha sido muy bueno conmigo y tengo suficiente: así que a petición suya, él lo tomó.
Take, I pray thee my blessing which hath been brought in to thee, because God hath shewed me favour and because I have everything. So he was urgent with him and he took it.
12 Y él dijo: Sigamos nuestro viaje juntos, y yo iré al frente.
Then he said, Let us break up and go, and let me go on before thee.
13 Pero Jacob dijo: Mi señor verá que los niños son pequeños, y que hay crías en mis rebaños y mi ganado; que un día se exceda en la conducción será la destrucción de todo el rebaño.
And he said unto him, My lord, is taking note, that, the children are tender, —and the flocks and the herds are giving suck with me, —and, should I overdrive them a single day, then would all the flocks die.
14 Tú, señor mío, ve delante de tu siervo; Avanzaré lentamente, al ritmo al que puedan ir el ganado y los niños, hasta que vaya a ver a mi señor en Seir.
Let my lord, I pray thee pass over before his servant, and let, me, lead on in my own easy way, at the pace of the cattle that are before me, and at the pace of the children, until that I come in unto my lord, towards Seir.
15 Y dijo Esaú: Entonces ten algunos de mis hombres contigo. Y él dijo: ¿Qué necesidad hay de eso, sí mi señor está contento conmigo?
Then said Esau: Let me leave, I pray thee, along with thee, some of the people who are with me! And he said—Why so? let me find favour in the eyes of my lord!
16 Entonces Esaú, volviendo ese día, siguió su camino hacia Seir.
So Esau returned, that day, to his journey towards Mount Seir.
17 Y Jacob fue a Sucot, donde se hizo una casa y levantó tiendas para su ganado; por eso el lugar se llamó Sucot.
But, Jacob, brake up towards Succoth, and built for himself a house, for his cattle, made he places of shelter, for which cause, the name of the place was called, Succoth.
18 Entonces Jacob salió sano y salvo de Padan-aram, a la ciudad de Siquem, en la tierra de Canaán, y puso sus tiendas cerca de la ciudad.
And Jacob came in peace to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, —when he came in from Padan-aram, —and he encamped before the city.
19 Y por cien piezas de dinero tomó de los hijos de Hamor, el padre de Siquem, el campo en que había puesto sus tiendas.
And he bought the portion of the field where he had spread out his tent, at the hand of the sons of Hamor, father of Shechem, —for a hundred kesitahs.
20 Y puso allí altar, y lo llamó El-Elohe-Israel; Él poderoso Dios de Israel.
And he set up there an altar, —and called it, El-elohe-Israel.
