Génesis 13

1 Y Abram subió de Egipto con su mujer y todo lo que tenía, y Lot con él, y vinieron a Neguev.

So Abram came up out of Egypt he and his wife and all that he had and Lot with him, towards the South.

2 Y Abram tenía grandes riquezas de ganado y plata y oro.

Now, Abram, was very rich, —in cattle, in silver and in gold.

3 Y viajando de Neguev, vino a Bet-el, al lugar donde antes estaba su tienda, entre Bet-el y Hai;

And he went his way, by his removals, from the South even as far as to Bethel, —as far as the place where his tent was at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai:

4 al lugar donde había hecho su primer altar, y allí Abram adoró el nombre del Señor.

unto the place of the altar, which he made there at first, —and Abram called there, on the name of Yahweh.

5 Y Lot, que iba con él, tuvo rebaños, vacas y tiendas;

Now, Lot also, who was going with Abram, had flocks and herds and tents.

6 Así que la tierra no era lo suficientemente amplia para ellos dos: su propiedad era tan grande que no había lugar para ellos juntos.

And the land suffered them not to dwell together, —because their substance had become, great, so that they could not dwell together.

7 Hubo una discusión entre los guardianes del ganado de Abram y los guardianes del ganado de Lot: en aquel tiempo los cananeos y los ferezeos aún vivían en la tierra.

And there arose a strife betwixt the herdmen of Abram, and the herdmen of Lot. Now the Canaanite and the Perizzite, were then dwelling in the land.

8 Entonces Abram dijo a Lot: No haya discusión entre tú y yo, y entre mis pastores y tus pastores, porque somos hermanos.

So then Abram said unto Lot Pray let not cause of strife arise betwixt me and thee, or betwixt my herdmen and thy herdmen; for brethren, are we.

9 ¿No está toda la tierra delante de ti? luego sigamos nuestros caminos por separado: si vas a la izquierda, iré a la derecha; o si tomas el derecho, iré a la izquierda.

Is not, all the land, before thee? I pray thee, separate thyself from me, —if to the left hand, then I will go to the right, if to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

10 Y Lot, levantando los ojos y mirando el valle del Jordán, vio que estaba bien regado en todas partes, antes que el Señor enviará destrucción sobre Sodoma y Gomorra; era como el jardín del Señor, como la tierra de Egipto, en el camino a Zoar.

So Lot lifted up his eyes and beheld all the circuit of the Jordan, that the whole of it, was well-watered, —before Yahweh destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the Garden of Yahweh, like the land of Egypt, as thou enterest into Zoar.

11 Entonces Lot tomó todo el valle del Jordán, y se fue al oriente, y se separaron unos de otros.

And Lot chose for himself all the circuit of the Jordan, so Lot brake up eastwards, —and they separated themselves, each man from his brother:

12 Abram vivió en la tierra de Canaán, y Lot fue a las ciudades de las tierras bajas, y se mudó de su tienda hasta Sodoma.

Abram, fixed his dwelling in the land of Canaan, —but, Lot, fixed his dwelling among the cities, of the circuit, and moved his tent as far as Sodom.

13 Y los hombres de Sodoma eran malos, y pecadores en gran manera delante del Señor.

Now, the men of Sodom were base and sinful, —against Yahweh, exceedingly.

14 Y el Señor le dijo a Abram, después de que Lot se separó de él, desde este lugar donde miras hacia el norte y hacia el sur, hacia el este y hacia el oeste:

And, Yahweh, said unto Abram after that Lot had separated himself from him, Lift up, I pray thee thine eyes and look, from the place where thou art, —northward and southward and eastward and westward;

15 Porque toda la tierra que ves te daré a ti y a tu descendencia para siempre.

for all the land which thou art beholding—to thee, will I give it, and to thy seed unto times age-abiding;

16 Y haré tus hijos como el polvo de la tierra, para que si el polvo de la tierra se numera, tus hijos serán contados.

and I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth, —so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, thy seed also, may be numbered.

17 Ven, recorre toda la tierra de un extremo al otro porque yo te lo daré.

Rise! go up and down in the land, to the length thereof and to the breadth thereof, for to thee, will I give it.

18 Y Abram, moviendo su tienda, vino e hizo su morada junto al árbol santo de Mamre, que está en Hebrón, e hizo allí un altar para el Señor.

So Abram moved his tent and came in and dwelt among the oaks of Mamre, which were in Hebron, —and built there an altar to Yahweh.
