Éxodo 2
1 Y un hombre de la casa de Leví tomó por esposa a una hija de Leví.
Then there went a man of the house of Leui, and tooke to wife a daughter of Leui,
2 Y ella engendró y dio a luz a un Hijo; y cuando vio que él era un niño hermoso, lo mantuvo en secreto durante tres meses.
And the woman coceiued and bare a sonne: and when she saw that he was faire, she hid him three moneths.
3 Y cuando ella ya no pudo mantenerlo en secreto, ella le hizo una canasta de tallos de plantas acuáticas, pegándola con tierra y brea para mantener el agua afuera; y colocando al bebé en él, lo puso entre las plantas al borde del Nilo.
But when she could no longer hide him, she tooke for him an arke made of reede, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and laide the childe therein, and put it among the bulrushes by the riuers brinke.
4 Y su hermana tomó su lugar a distancia para ver qué sería de él.
Now his sister stood a farre off, to wit what would come of him.
5 Y la hija de Faraón descendió al Nilo para tomar un baño, mientras sus mujeres caminaban a la orilla del río; y ella vio la canasta entre las plantas del río, y envió a su sirvienta para que se lo trajera.
Then ye daughter of Pharaoh came downe to wash her in the riuer, and her maidens walked by the riuers side: and when shee sawe the arke among the bulrushes, she sent her maide to fet it.
6 Y al abrirlo, ella vio al niño, y él estaba llorando. Y ella tuvo compasión de él, y dijo: Este es uno de los hijos de los hebreos.
Then she opened it, and sawe it was a childe: and beholde, the babe wept: so she had compassion on it, and sayde, This is one of the Ebrewes children.
7 Entonces su hermana dijo a la hija de Faraón: ¿Puedo ir a buscarte a una de las hebreas para darle el pecho?
Then said his sister vnto Pharaohs daughter, Shall I go and cal vnto thee a nurce of the Ebrew women to nurce thee the childe?
8 Y la hija de Faraón le dijo: Ve. Y la niña fue a buscar a la madre del niño.
And Pharaohs daughter sayde to her, Goe. So the maide went and called the childes mother,
9 Y la hija de Faraón le dijo: Toma al niño y críalo, y yo te pagaré. Y la mujer tomó al niño y le dio leche de su pecho.
To whome Pharaohs daughter sayde, Take this childe away, and nurce it for me, and I wil reward thee. Then the woman tooke the childe and nurced him.
10 Y cuando el niño era mayor, ella lo llevó a la hija de Faraón y él se convirtió en su hijo, y ella le dio el nombre de Moisés, porque, ella dijo, lo saqué del agua.
Nowe the childe grewe, and she brought him vnto Pharaohs daughter, and he was as her sonne, and she called his name Moses, because, said she, I drewe him out of the water.
11 Cuando Moisés se hizo hombre, un día salió a su pueblo y vio lo duro que era su trabajo; y vio a un egipcio dando golpes a un hebreo, uno de su pueblo.
And in those dayes, when Moses was growen, he went forth vnto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: also he sawe an Egyptian smiting an Ebrewe one of his brethren.
12 Y volviéndose de aquí para allá, sin ver a nadie, mató al egipcio, cubriendo su cuerpo de arena.
And he looked rounde about, and when he sawe no man, hee slewe the Egyptian, and hid him in the sande.
13 Y saliendo al otro día, vio a dos de los hebreos que peleaban, y dijo al que estaba equivocado: ¿Por qué peleas contra tu hermano?
Againe he came forth the second day, and behold, two Ebrewes stroue: and he said vnto him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellowe?
14 Y él dijo: ¿Quién te hizo gobernante y juez sobre nosotros? ¿Me vas a matar a mí como lo hiciste con el egipcio? Y Moisés tuvo miedo, y dijo: Está claro que el asunto ha salido a la luz.
And hee answered, Who made thee a man of authoritie, and a iudge ouer vs? Thinkest thou to kill mee, as thou killedst the Egyptian? Then Moses feared and sayde, Certainly this thing is knowen.
15 Cuando Faraón tuvo noticias de esto, procuró matar a Moisés. Pero Moisés salió huyendo de Faraón a la tierra de Madián, y se sentó junto a un manantial de agua.
Now Pharaoh heard this matter, and sought to slay Moses: therefore Moses fled from Pharaoh, and dwelt in the lande of Midian, and hee sate downe by a well.
16 Y el sacerdote de Madián tuvo siete hijas; y vinieron a buscar agua para el rebaño de su padre.
And the Priest of Midian had seue daughters, which came and drewe water, and filled the troghes, for to water their fathers sheepe.
17 Y los cuidadores de las ovejas subieron y las echaban de allí; pero Moisés se levantó y vino en su ayuda, y les dio de beber a las ovejas.
Then the shepherds came and droue them away: but Moses rose vp and defended them, and watered their sheepe.
18 Y cuando llegaron a Reuel su padre, él dijo: ¿Cómo es que has vuelto tan rápido hoy?
And whe they came to Reuel their father, he said, Howe are ye come so soone to day?
19 Y ellas respondieron: Un egipcio vino en nuestra ayuda contra los cuidadores de ovejas, nos dio agua y se la dio al rebaño.
And they saide, A man of Egypt deliuered vs from the hand of the shepherdes, and also drew vs water ynough, and watered the sheepe.
20 Y dijo a sus hijas: ¿Dónde está? ¿Por qué has dejado ir al hombre? hazlo entrar y dale una comida.
Then he saide vnto his daughters, And where is he? why haue ye so left the man? call him that he may eate bread.
21 Y Moisés estaba feliz de seguir viviendo con el hombre; y él dio su hija Séfora a Moisés.
And Moses agreed to dwell with the man: who gaue vnto Moses Zipporah his daughter:
22 Y dio a luz un hijo, a quien nombró Gersón, porque dijo: He estado viviendo en tierra extraña.
And she bare a sonne, whose name he called Gershom: for he said, I haue bene a stranger in a strange lande.
23 Y después de mucho tiempo, el rey de Egipto llegó a su fin; y los hijos de Israel lloraban en su dolor bajo el peso de su trabajo, y su clamor por ayuda llegó a oídos de Dios.
Then in processe of time, the King of Egypt dyed, and the children of Israel sighed for the bondage and cryed: and their crie for the bondage came vp vnto God.
24 Y al sonido de su lloro, vino a su mente el acuerdo que Dios había hecho con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob.
Then God heard their mone, and God remembred his couenant with Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob.
25 Y los ojos de Dios se volvieron a los hijos de Israel y se dio cuenta de su condición.
So God looked vpon the children of Israel, and God had respect vnto them.
