Eclesiastés 3
1 Para todo hay un tiempo fijo, y un tiempo para cada propósito bajo el cielo.
To everything — a season, and a time to every delight under the heavens:
2 Un tiempo para el nacimiento y un tiempo para la muerte; un tiempo para plantar y un tiempo para arrancar de raíz;
A time to bring forth, And a time to die. A time to plant, And a time to eradicate the planted.
3 Un tiempo para dar muerte y un tiempo para sanar; un tiempo para derribar y un tiempo para construir;
A time to slay, And a time to heal, A time to break down, And a time to build up.
4 Un tiempo para llorar y un tiempo para reír; un tiempo para el dolor y un tiempo para bailar;
A time to weep, And a time to laugh. A time to mourn, And a time to skip.
5 Un tiempo para quitar piedras y un tiempo para juntar piedras; un tiempo para abrazar y un tiempo para no abrazar;
A time to cast away stones, And a time to heap up stones. A time to embrace, And a time to be far from embracing.
6 Un tiempo para la búsqueda y un tiempo para la pérdida; un tiempo para guardar y un tiempo para regalar;
A time to seek, And a time to destroy. A time to keep, And a time to cast away.
7 Un tiempo para desgarrar y un tiempo para coser; un tiempo para guardar silencio y un tiempo para hablar;
A time to rend, And a time to sew. A time to be silent, And a time to speak.
8 Un tiempo para el amor y un tiempo para el odio; un tiempo para la guerra y un tiempo para la paz.
A time to love, And a time to hate. A time of war, And a time of peace.
9 ¿Qué beneficio tiene el trabajador en el trabajo que él hace?
What advantage hath the doer in that which he is labouring at?
10 Vi la obra que Dios ha puesto sobre los hijos del hombre.
I have seen the travail that God hath given to the sons of man to be humbled by it.
11 Él hizo todo hermoso en su tiempo; y entregó el mundo a su voluntad, pero él ha hecho sus corazones sin conocimiento, de modo que el hombre no puede ver las obras de Dios, desde el principio hasta el fin.
The whole He hath made beautiful in its season; also, that knowledge He hath put in their heart without which man findeth not out the work that God hath done from the beginning even unto the end.
12 Estoy seguro de que no hay nada mejor para un hombre que estar contento y hacer el bien mientras la vida está en él.
I have known that there is no good for them except to rejoice and to do good during their life,
13 Y para cada hombre que coma, beba y tenga gozo en toda su obra, es una recompensa de Dios.
yea, even every man who eateth and hath drunk and seen good by all his labour, it [is] a gift of God.
14 Estoy seguro de que todo lo que Dios haga será para siempre. No se le puede hacer ninguna adición, no se le puede quitar nada; y Dios lo ha hecho para que el hombre tenga reverencia ante él.
I have known that all that God doth is to the age, to it nothing is to be added, and from it nothing is to be withdrawn; and God hath wrought that they do fear before Him.
15 Lo que ha sido antes, ya es, y lo que debe ser, es ahora; Porque Dios hace la búsqueda de las cosas que son pasadas.
What is that which hath been? already it is, and that which [is] to be hath already been, and God requireth that which is pursued.
16 Y otra vez, vi debajo del sol, en el lugar de los jueces, que el mal estaba allí; y en el lugar de la justicia, que el mal estaba allí.
And again, I have seen under the sun the place of judgment — there [is] the wicked; and the place of righteousness — there [is] the wicked.
17 Dije en mi corazón: Dios juzgará lo bueno y lo malo; porque ha fijado un tiempo para cada propósito y para cada trabajo.
I said in my heart, 'The righteous and the wicked doth God judge, for a time [is] to every matter and for every work there.'
18 Dije en mi corazón: Es por los hijos de los hombres, para que Dios los ponga a prueba y se vean a sí mismos como bestias.
I said in my heart concerning the matter of the sons of man that God might cleanse them, so as to see that they themselves [are] beasts.
19 Porque el destino de los hijos de los hombres y el destino de las bestias es el mismo. Como la muerte de uno, así es la muerte del otro, y todos tienen un espíritu. El hombre no tiene ventaja sobre las bestias; porque todo es vanidad.
For an event [is to] the sons of man, and an event [is to] the beasts, even one event [is] to them; as the death of this, so [is] the death of that; and one spirit [is] to all, and the advantage of man above the beast is nothing, for the whole [is] vanity.
20 Todos van a un lugar, todos son del polvo, y todos serán convertidos en polvo nuevamente.
The whole are going unto one place, the whole have been from the dust, and the whole are turning back unto the dust.
21 ¿Quién está seguro de que el espíritu de los hijos de los hombres sube al cielo, o que el espíritu de las bestias desciende a la tierra?
Who knoweth the spirit of the sons of man that is going up on high, and the spirit of the beast that is going down below to the earth?
22 Entonces vi que no hay nada mejor que un hombre tenga gozo en su trabajo, porque esa es su recompensa. ¿Quién le hará ver lo que vendrá después de él?
And I have seen that there is nothing better than that man rejoice in his works, for it [is] his portion; for who doth bring him in to look on that which is after him?
