Deuteronomio 14

1 Ustedes son los hijos del Señor su Dios: no deben hacer cortes en sus cuerpos ni raparse el vello de las cejas en honor de los muertos;

Ye are the children of the Lord your God. Ye shall not cut yourselues, nor make you any baldnesse betweene your eyes for the dead.

2 Porque ustedes son un pueblo santo para el Señor su Dios, y el Señor los ha elegido a ser su pueblo especial de todas las naciones sobre la tierra.

For thou art an holy people vnto ye Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a precious people vnto himselfe, aboue all the people that are vpon the earth.

3 Ninguna cosa impura puede ser su comida.

Thou shalt eate no maner of abomination.

4 Estas son las bestias que puedes tener para comer: el buey, la oveja y la cabra;

These are the beastes, which ye shall eate, the beefe, the sheepe, and the goate,

5 El ciervo, la gacela, gamos, la cabra montesa y el antílope y la oveja montesa.

The hart, and the roe buck, and the bugle, and the wilde goate, and the vnicorne, and the wilde oxe, and the chamois.

6 Cualquier bestia que tenga pezuña partida y todo animal rumiante, puede ser usada como alimento.

And euery beast that parteth ye hoofe, and cleaueth the clift into two clawes, and is of the beasts that cheweth the cudde, that shall ye eate.

7 Pero incluso entre estos, hay algunos que no pueden usarse como alimento: como el camello, la liebre y el conejo, que son impuros para ti, porque, aunque son rumiantes, pero no tienen pezuña partida.

But these ye shall not eate, of them that chew the cud, and of them that deuide and cleaue the hoofe onely: ye camell, nor the hare, nor the cony: for they chewe the cudde, but deuide not ye hoofe: therefore they shall be vncleane vnto you:

8 Y el cerdo es inmundo para ti, porque aunque tiene pezuña partida, no es animal rumiante; su carne no puede ser usada para comer o sus cuerpos muertos son tocados por ustedes.

Also the swine, because he deuideth the hoofe, and cheweth not the cud, shalbe vncleane vnto you: ye shall not eate of their flesh, nor touch their dead carkeises.

9 Y de las cosas que viven en las aguas, pueden comer a todos los que tienen aletas y escamas.

These ye shall eate, of all that are in the waters: all that haue finnes and scales shall ye eate.

10 Pero cualquiera que no tenga escamas o aletas, no pueden comer; son inmundos para ustedes.

And whatsoeuer hath no finnes nor scales, ye shall not eate: it shall be vncleane vnto you.

11 Todas las aves limpias se pueden usar como alimento.

Of all cleane birdes ye shall eate:

12 Pero estas aves no pueden comer: el águila y el águila real y el águila marina;

But these are they, whereof ye shall not eate: the eagle, nor the goshawke, nor the osprey,

13 El halcón y la cometa, y las aves de ese tipo;

Nor the glead nor the kite, nor the vulture, after their kind,

14 Todo cuervo, y todas las aves de ese tipo;

Nor all kinde of rauens,

15 Y el avestruz y el halcón nocturno y la gaviota y las aves de ese tipo;

Nor the ostrich, nor the nightcrow, nor the semeaw, nor the hawke after her kinde,

16 La lechuza y la gran lechuza, él cisne;

Neither the litle owle, nor the great owle, nor the redshanke,

17 Y el pelícano y el buitre y el cormorán;

Nor the pellicane, nor the swanne, nor the cormorant:

18 La cigüeña y la garza y ​​las aves de ese tipo, y la abubilla y el murciélago.

The storke also, and the heron in his kinde, nor the lapwing, nor the backe.

19 Toda insecto alado que se posa sobre la tierra es inmunda para ti y no puede usarse como alimento.

And euery creeping thing that flieth, shall be vncleane vnto you: it shall not be eaten.

20 Pero puedes tomar todas las aves limpias.

But of all cleane foules ye may eate.

21 No coman alimento que haya llegado a una muerte natural; el hombre de otro país que está viviendo con ustedes puede tomarlo por comida, o puede venderlo a uno de otra nación; porque tú eres pueblo santo para el Señor tu Dios. Él cabrito no debe ser cocinado en la leche de su madre.

Ye shall eate of nothing that dieth alone, but thou shalt giue it vnto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eate it: or thou maiest sell it vnto a stranger: for thou art an holy people vnto the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mothers milke.

22 Ponga a un lado una décima parte de todo el aumento de su semilla, producido año tras año.

Thou shalt giue the tithe of all the increase of thy seede, that commeth foorth of the fielde yeere by yeere.

23 Y hagan una fiesta delante del Señor tu Dios, en el lugar que debe ser marcado, donde estará su nombre para siempre, de la décima parte de su grano y su vino y su aceite, y los primeros nacimientos de sus vacas y sus ovejas; para que aprendan a reverenciar al Señor tu Dios en sus corazones en todo momento.

And thou shalt eate before the Lord thy God (in the place which he shall chose to cause his Name to dwell there) the tithe of thy corne, of thy wine, and of thine oyle, and the first borne of thy kine and of thy sheepe, that thou maiest learne to feare the Lord thy God alway.

24 Y si el camino es tan largo que no pueden llevar estas cosas al lugar señalado por el Señor su Dios como residencia de su nombre, cuando les haya dado su bendición;

And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to cary it, because the place is farre from thee, where the Lord thy God shall chose to set his Name, when the Lord thy God shall blesse thee,

25 Entonces, estas cosas se venderán y, tomando el dinero en su mano, ve al lugar señalado por el Señor su Dios;

Then shalt thou make it in money, and take the money in thine hand, and goe vnto the place which the Lord thy God shall chose.

26 Y con el dinero compren lo que deseen, bueyes u ovejas o vino o bebida fuerte, cualquiera que sea el deseo de su alma: y hagan un banquete allí delante del Señor su Dios, y regocíjense, todos ustedes en su casa;

And thou shalt bestowe the money for whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: whether it be oxe, or sheepe, or wine, or strong drinke, or whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: and shalt eate it there before the Lord thy God, and reioyce, both thou, and thine household.

27 Y ​​piensa en el levita que vive entre ustedes, porque no tiene parte ni herencia en la tierra.

And the Leuite that is within thy gates, shalt thou not forsake: for he hath neither part nor inheritance with thee.

28 Al final de cada tres años, tomen una décima parte de toda la cosecha de ese año y colócala dentro de tus almacenes.

At the end of three yeere thou shalt bring foorth all the tithes of thine increase of the same yeere, and lay it vp within thy gates.

29 Y el levita, porque no tiene parte ni herencia en la tierra, y el hombre de un país extraño, y el niño que no tiene padre, y la viuda, que vive entre ustedes, vendrán y comerán y tendrán suficiente; y así la bendición del Señor tu Dios estará sobre ti en todo lo que hagas.

Then ye Leuite shall come, because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger, and the fatherlesse, and the widowe, which are within thy gates, and shall eate, and be filled, that the Lord thy God may blesse thee in al the worke of thine hand which thou doest.
