1 Reyes 15

1 En el año dieciocho del rey Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, Abiam se convirtió en rey de Judá.

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.

2 Durante tres años reinó en Jerusalén, y el nombre de su madre fue Maaca, hija de Absalón.

Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name [was] Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

3 E hizo los mismos pecados que su padre había hecho antes que él: su corazón no era completamente fiel al Señor su Dios, como el corazón de David su padre.

And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.

4 Pero a causa de David, el Señor le dio una luz en Jerusalén, haciendo reyes a sus hijos después de él, para que Jerusalén estuviera a salvo;

Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

5 Porque David hizo lo correcto ante los ojos del Señor, y nunca en toda su vida fue en contra de sus órdenes, sino solo en la cuestión de Urías el hitita.

Because David did [that which was] right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any [thing] that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

6 Hubo guerra continua entre Roboam y Jeroboam.

And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

7 Los demás hechos de Abiam y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Y hubo guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.

Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

8 Entonces Abiam fue a dormir con sus padres, y lo enterraron en el pueblo de David: y Asa su hijo se convirtió en rey en su lugar.

And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.

9 En el año veinte en que Jeroboam era rey de Israel, Asa se convirtió en rey de Judá.

And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.

10 Y reinó en Jerusalén durante cuarenta y un años; El nombre de su madre era Maaca, la hija de Absalón.

And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name [was] Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

11 Asa hizo lo correcto ante los ojos del Señor, como lo hizo David su padre.

And Asa did [that which was] right in the eyes of the LORD, as [did] David his father.

12 También expulsó aquellos utilizados con fines sexuales en la adoración de los dioses, él los echó fuera del país, y quitó todas las imágenes que sus padres habían hecho.

And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

13 Y él no permitiría que su madre Maaca fuera reina, porque ella había hecho una imagen repugnante para Asera; y Asa hizo cortar la imagen y quemarla en el arroyo Cedrón.

And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from [being] queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt [it] by the brook Kidron.

14 Los lugares altos, sin embargo, no fueron quitados, pero aún así el corazón de Asa fue fiel al Señor toda su vida.

But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa’s heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

15 Tomó en la casa del Señor todas las cosas que su padre había santificado, y las que él mismo había santificado, plata, oro y vasos.

And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.

16 Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, todos los días.

And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

17 Y Baasa, rey de Israel, subió contra Judá, fortificó a Ramá, para que nadie pudiera salir ni entrar a Asa, rey de Judá.

And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

18 Entonces Asa tomó toda la plata y el oro que todavía estaban almacenados en la casa del Señor y en la casa del rey, y los envió, al cuidado de sus siervos, a Ben Adad, hijo de Tabrimon, hijo de Hezion, rey de Aram, en Damasco, diciendo:

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold [that were] left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

19 Hágase un acuerdo entre usted y yo, como hubo entre mi padre y su padre: mira, les he enviado una ofrenda de plata y oro; Ve y pon fin a tu acuerdo con Baasa, rey de Israel, para que pueda dejar de atacarme.

[There is] a league between me and thee, [and] between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

20 Entonces Ben-adad hizo como dijo el rey Asa, y envió a los capitanes de sus ejércitos contra las ciudades de Israel, atacando a Ijon y Dan y Abel-bet-maaca, y a todos los Cineret en toda la tierra de Neftalí.

So Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

21 Baasa, al oírlo, dejó de fortificar Ramá y se quedó en Tirsa.

And it came to pass, when Baasha heard [thereof], that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

22 Entonces el rey Asa reunió a toda Judá, haciendo que todos vinieran; y se llevaron las piedras y la madera con que Baasa estaba construyendo a Ramá, y el rey Asa las utilizó para construir a Geba en la tierra de Benjamín y Mizpa.

Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none [was] exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

23 Los demás hechos de Asa, y su poder, y todo lo que hizo, y los pueblos de los cuales fue el constructor, ¿no están registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Más cuando era viejo tenía una enfermedad de los pies.

The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

24 Y cuando durmió Asa fue enterrado con sus antepasados en la ciudad de David, su padre; y Josafat su hijo se convirtió en rey en su lugar.

And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.

25 Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, se convirtió en rey de Israel en el segundo año que Asa rey de Judá; y él fue rey de Israel por dos años.

And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.

26 Él hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, copiando los caminos malos de su padre, y en el pecado que hizo pecar a Israel.

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

27 Y Baasa, hijo de Ahías, de la familia de Isacar, hizo un plan secreto contra él, atacándolo en Gibeton, un pueblo de los filisteos; porque Nadab y los ejércitos de Israel estaban haciendo la guerra a Gibeton.

And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which [belonged] to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

28 En el tercer año del gobierno de Asa, rey de Judá, Baasa lo mató y se convirtió en rey en su lugar.

Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.

29 Enseguida, cuando llegó a ser rey, envió destrucción a toda la descendencia de Jeroboam; No había una sola persona viva de toda la familia de Jeroboam a quien no matara, de modo que vino la palabra del Señor, que dijo por su siervo Ahías de Silo;

And it came to pass, when he reigned, [that] he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:

30 A causa de los pecados que hizo Jeroboam e hizo que Israel lo hiciera, moviendo al Señor, el Dios de Israel, a la ira.

Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.

31 Los demás hechos de Nadab y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

32 Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, todos sus días.

And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

33 En el tercer año del gobierno de Asa, rey de Judá, Baasa, hijo de Ahías, se convirtió en rey de todo Israel en Tirsa, y fue rey durante veinticuatro años.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.

34 Él hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, copiando los caminos malos de Jeroboam y el pecado que hizo que Israel hiciera.

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
