Job 35
1 Y procediendo Eliú en su razonamiento, dijo:
Moreover Elihu, responded and said: —
2 ¿Piensas ser conforme a derecho esto que dijiste: Más justo soy yo que Dios?
This, dost thou think to be right? Thou hast said—My righteousness is more than GOD’S.
3 Porque dijiste: ¿Qué ventaja sacaras tú de ello? ¿O qué provecho tendré de mi pecado?
For thou dost say, How can one profit by thee? How can I benefit, more than by my sin?
4 Yo te responderé razones, y a tus compañeros contigo.
I, will answer thee plainly, and thy friends with thee.
5 Mira a los cielos, y ve, y considera que los cielos son más altos que tú.
Look at the heavens and see, —and survey the skies—they are higher than thou.
6 Si pecares, ¿qué habrás hecho contra él? Y si tus rebeliones se multiplicaren, ¿qué le harás tú?
If thou sinnest, what canst thou work against him? Or, if thy transgressions be multiplied, what canst thou do unto him?
7 Si fueres justo, ¿qué le darás a él? ¿O qué recibirá de tu mano?
If thou art righteous, what canst thou give unto him? Or what, at thy hand, can he accept?
8 Al hombre como tú dañará tu impiedad, y al hijo del hombre aprovechará tu justicia.
Unto a man like thyself, might thy lawlessness [reach], and, unto a son of the earth-born, thy righteousness.
9 A causa de la multitud de las violencias clamarán, y darán voces por la fuerza de los muchos.
By reason of the multitude of oppressions, [men] make outcry, They cry for help, by reason of the arm of the mighty;
10 Y ninguno dirá: ¿Dónde está Dios mi hacedor, que da canciones en la noche?
But none saith—Where is GOD my maker, Who giveth songs in the night;
11 Que nos enseña más que a las bestias de la tierra, y nos hace sabios más que las aves del cielo.
Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and, beyond the bird of the heavens, giveth us wisdom?
12 Allí clamarán, y él no oirá, por la soberbia de los malos.
There, [men] make outcry, and he answereth not, because of the arrogance of evil-doers.
13 Ciertamente Dios no oirá la vanidad, ni la mirará el Omnipotente.
Howbeit, vanity, will GOD not hear, Yea, the Almighty, will not regard it.
14 Aunque más digas, no lo mirará; haz juicio delante de él, y espera en él.
How much less when thou sayest thou wilt not regard him! The cause, is before him, and thou must wait for him.
15 Mas ahora, porque en su ira no visita, ni se conoce con rigor,
But, now, because it is not so, [thou sayest] —His anger hath punished, and yet hath he not at all known of transgression;
16 por eso Job abrió su boca vanamente, y multiplica palabras sin sabiduría.
Thus, Job, vainly openeth his mouth, Without knowledge, he multiplieth words.
