Proverbios 3
1 HIJO mío, no te olvides de mi ley; y tu corazón guarde mis mandamientos:
My sonne, forget not thou my Lawe, but let thine heart keepe my commandements.
2 Porque largura de días, y años de vida y paz te aumentarán.
For they shall increase the length of thy dayes and the yeeres of life, and thy prosperitie.
3 Misericordia y verdad no te desamparen; átalas á tu cuello, escríbelas en la tabla de tu corazón:
Let not mercie and trueth forsake thee: binde them on thy necke, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.
4 Y hallarás gracia y buena opinión en los ojos de Dios y de los hombres.
So shalt thou finde fauour and good vnderstanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Fíate de Jehová de todo tu corazón, y no estribes en tu prudencia.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and leane not vnto thine owne wisdome.
6 Reconócelo en todos tus caminos, y él enderezará tus veredas.
In all thy wayes acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy wayes.
7 No seas sabio en tu opinión: teme á Jehová, y apártate del mal;
Be not wise in thine owne eyes: but feare the Lord, and depart from euill.
8 Porque será medicina á tu ombligo, y tuétano á tus huesos.
So health shalbe vnto thy nauel, and marowe vnto thy bones.
9 Honra á Jehová de tu sustancia, y de las primicias de todos tus frutos;
Honour the Lord with thy riches, and with the first fruites of all thine increase.
10 Y serán llenas tus trojes con abundancia, y tus lagares rebosarán de mosto.
So shall thy barnes be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall burst with newe wine.
11 No deseches, hijo mío, el castigo de Jehová; ni te fatigues de su corrección:
My sonne, refuse not the chastening of the Lord, neither be grieued with his correction.
12 Porque al que ama castiga, como el padre al hijo á quien quiere.
For the Lord correcteth him, whome he loueth, euen as the father doeth the childe in whom he deliteth.
13 Bienaventurado el hombre que halla la sabiduría, y que obtiene la inteligencia:
Blessed is the man that findeth wisedome, and the man that getteth vnderstanding.
14 Porque su mercadería es mejor que la mercadería de la plata, y sus frutos más que el oro fino.
For the marchandise thereof is better then the marchandise of siluer, and the gaine thereof is better then golde.
15 Más preciosa es que las piedras preciosas; y todo lo que puedes desear, no se puede comparar á ella.
It is more precious then pearles: and all things that thou canst desire, are not to be compared vnto her.
16 Largura de días está en su mano derecha; en su izquierda riquezas y honra.
Length of dayes is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.
17 Sus caminos son caminos deleitosos, y todas sus veredas paz.
Her wayes are wayes of pleasure, and all her pathes prosperitie.
18 Ella es árbol de vida á los que de ella asen: y bienaventurados son los que la mantienen.
She is a tree of life to them that lay holde on her, and blessed is he that retaineth her.
19 Jehová con sabiduría fundó la tierra; afirmó los cielos con inteligencia.
The Lord by wisdome hath layde the foundation of the earth, and hath stablished the heauens through vnderstanding.
20 Con su ciencia se partieron los abismos, y destilan el rocío los cielos.
By his knowledge the depthes are broken vp, and the cloudes droppe downe the dewe.
21 Hijo mío, no se aparten [estas cosas] de tus ojos; guarda la ley y el consejo;
My sonne, let not these things depart from thine eyes, but obserue wisdome, and counsell.
22 Y serán vida á tu alma, y gracia á tu cuello.
So they shalbe life to thy soule, and grace vnto thy necke.
23 Entonces andarás por tu camino confiadamente, y tu pie no tropezará.
Then shalt thou walke safely by thy way: and thy foote shall not stumble.
24 Cuando te acostares, no tendrás temor; antes te acostarás, y tu sueño será suave.
If thou sleepest, thou shalt not bee afraide, and when thou sleepest, thy sleepe shalbe sweete.
25 No tendrás temor de pavor repentino, ni de la ruina de los impíos cuando viniere:
Thou shalt not feare for any sudden feare, neither for the destruction of the wicked, when it commeth.
26 Porque Jehová será tu confianza, y él preservará tu pie de ser preso.
For the Lord shall be for thine assurance, and shall preserue thy foote from taking.
27 No detengas el bien de sus dueños, cuando tuvieres poder para hacerlo.
Withhold not the good from the owners thereof, though there be power in thine hand to doe it.
28 No digas á tu prójimo: Ve, y vuelve, y mañana [te] daré; cuando tienes contigo [qué darle].
Say not vnto thy neighbour, Go and come againe, and to morow wil I giue thee, if thou now haue it.
29 No intentes mal contra tu prójimo, estando él confiado de ti.
Intend none hurt against thy neighbour, seeing he doeth dwell without feare by thee.
30 No pleitees con alguno sin razón, si él no te ha hecho agravio.
Striue not with a man causelesse, when he hath done thee no harme.
31 No envidies al hombre injusto, ni escojas alguno de sus caminos.
Bee not enuious for the wicked man, neither chuse any of his wayes.
32 Porque el perverso es abominado de Jehová: mas su secreto es con los rectos.
For the frowarde is abomination vnto the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
33 La maldición de Jehová está en la casa del impío; mas él bendecirá la morada de los justos.
The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
34 Ciertamente él escarnecerá á los escarnecedores, y á los humildes dará gracia.
With the scornefull he scorneth, but hee giueth grace vnto the humble.
35 Los sabios heredarán honra: mas los necios sostendrán ignominia.
The wise shall inherite glorie: but fooles dishonour, though they be exalted.
