San Lucas 23
1 Y levantándose toda la multitud de ellos, lleváronle a Pilato.
Then the whole multitude of them arose, and led him vnto Pilate.
2 Y comenzaron a acusarle, diciendo: A éste hemos hallado que pervierte nuestra nación, y que veda dar tributo a César, diciendo que él es el Cristo el Rey.
And they began to accuse him, saying, We haue found this man peruerting the nation, and forbidding to pay tribute to Cesar, saying, That he is Christ a King.
3 Entonces Pilato le preguntó, diciendo: ¿Eres tú el rey de los Judíos? Y respondiéndole él, dijo: Tú lo dices.
And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Iewes? And hee answered him, and sayd, Thou sayest it.
4 Y Pilato dijo a los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y al pueblo: Ninguna culpa hallo en este hombre.
Then sayd Pilate to the hie Priests, and to the people, I finde no fault in this man.
5 Mas ellos porfiaban, diciendo: Alborota al pueblo, enseñando por toda Judea, comenzando desde Galilea hasta aquí.
But they were the more fierce, saying, He moueth the people, teaching throughout all Iudea, beginning at Galile, euen to this place.
6 Entonces Pilato, oyendo de Galilea, preguntó si el hombre era Galileo.
Nowe when Pilate heard of Galile, he asked whether the man were a Galilean.
7 Y como entendió que era de la jurisdicción de Heródes, le remitió a Heródes, el cual también estaba en Jerusalem en aquellos días.
And when he knewe that he was of Herods iurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, which was also at Hierusalem in those dayes.
8 Y Heródes, viendo a Jesús, se holgó mucho; porque había mucho que le deseaba ver; porque había oído de él muchas cosas; y tenía esperanza que le vería hacer algún milagro.
And when Herod sawe Iesus, hee was exceedingly glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him, and trusted to haue seene some signe done by him.
9 Y le preguntaba con muchas palabras; mas él nada le respondió.
Then questioned hee with him of many things: but he answered him nothing.
10 Y estaban los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas acusándole con gran porfía.
The hie Priests also and Scribes stood forth, and accused him vehemently.
11 Mas Heródes con sus soldados le menospreció, y escarneció, vistiéndole de una ropa espléndida; y le volvió a enviar a Pilato.
And Herod with his men of warre, despised him, and mocked him, and arayed him in white, and sent him againe to Pilate.
12 Y fueron hechos amigos entre sí Pilato y Heródes en el mismo día; porque antes eran enemigos entre sí.
And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were enemies one to another.
13 Entonces Pilato, convocando los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los magistrados, y el pueblo,
Then Pilate called together the hie Priests and the rulers, and the people,
14 Les dijo: Me habéis presentado a éste por hombre que pervierte al pueblo; y, he aquí, yo preguntando delante de vosotros, no he hallado alguna culpa en este hombre de aquellas de que le acusáis.
And sayd vnto them, Ye haue brought this man vnto me, as one that peruerted the people: and beholde, I haue examined him before you, and haue found no fault in this man, of those things whereof ye accuse him:
15 Y ni aun Heródes; porque os remití a él; y he aquí, que ninguna cosa digna de muerte se le ha hecho.
No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him: and loe, nothing worthy of death is done of him.
16 Le soltaré pues castigado.
I will therefore chastise him, and let him loose.
17 Y tenía necesidad de soltarles uno en la fiesta.
(For of necessitie hee must haue let one loose vnto them at the feast.)
18 Y toda la multitud dio voces a una, diciendo: Afuera con éste, y suéltanos a Barrabás:
Then all ye multitude cried at once, saying, Away with him, and deliuer vnto vs Barabbas:
19 (El cual había sido echado en la cárcel por una sedición hecha en la ciudad, y una muerte.)
Which for a certaine insurrection made in the citie, and murder, was cast in prison.
20 Y les habló otra vez Pilato, queriendo soltar a Jesús.
Then Pilate spake againe to them, willing to let Iesus loose.
21 Mas ellos volvían a dar voces, diciendo: Crucifíca le, Crucifícale.
But they cried, saying, Crucifie, crucifie him.
22 Y él les dijo la tercera vez: ¿Por qué? ¿Qué mal ha hecho éste? ninguna culpa de muerte he hallado en él: le castigaré pues, y le soltaré.
And he sayd vnto them the third time, But what euill hath he done? I finde no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him loose.
23 Mas ellos instaban a grandes voces, pidiendo que fuese crucificado; y las voces de ellos, y de los príncipes de los sacerdotes prevalecieron.
But they were instant with loude voyces, and required that he might be crucified: and the voyces of them and of the hie Priests preuailed.
24 Entonces Pilato juzgó que se hiciese lo que ellos pedían.
So Pilate gaue sentence, that it should be as they required.
25 Y les soltó a aquel que había sido echado en la cárcel por sedición y una muerte, al cual habían pedido; mas entregó a Jesús a la voluntad de ellos.
And he let loose vnto them him that for insurrection and murder was cast into prison, whome they desired, and deliuered Iesus to doe with him what they would.
26 Y llevándole, tomaron a un Simón, Cireneo, que venía del campo, y le pusieron encima la cruz para que la llevase en pos de Jesús.
And as they led him away, they caught one Simon of Cyrene, comming out of the fielde, and on him they layde the crosse, to beare it after Iesus.
27 Y le seguía grande multitud de pueblo, y de mujeres, las cuales le lloraban, y lamentaban.
And there followed him a great multitude of people, and of women, which women bewailed and lamented him.
28 Mas Jesús, vuelto a ellas, les dijo: Hijas de Jerusalem, no me lloréis a mí; mas lloráos a vosotras mismas, y a vuestros hijos.
But Iesus turned backe vnto them, and said, Daughters of Hierusalem, weepe not for me, but weepe for your selues, and for your children.
29 Porque, he aquí, que vendrán días, en que dirán: Bienaventuradas las estériles, y los vientres que no parieron, y los pechos que no criaron.
For behold, the dayes wil come, when men shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombes that neuer bare, and the pappes which neuer gaue sucke.
30 Entonces comenzarán a decir a los montes: Caéd sobre nosotros; y a los collados: Cubrídnos.
Then shall they begin to say to the mountaines, Fall on vs: and to the hilles, Couer vs.
31 Porque si en el árbol verde hacen estas cosas, ¿en el seco qué se hará?
For if they doe these things to a greene tree, what shalbe done to the drie?
32 Y llevaban también con él otros dos, malhechores, a matar con él.
And there were two others, which were euill doers, led with him to be slaine.
33 Y como vinieron al lugar que se llama Calvario, le crucificaron allí; y a los malhechores, uno a la derecha, y otro a la izquierda.
And when they were come to the place, which is called Caluarie, there they crucified him, and the euill doers: one at the right hand, and the other at the left.
34 Mas Jesús decía: Padre, perdónalos; porque no saben lo que hacen. Y partiendo sus vestidos, echaron suertes.
Then sayd Iesus, Father, forgiue them: for they know not what they doe. And they parted his raiment, and cast lottes.
35 Y el pueblo estaba mirando; y burlaban de él los príncipes con ellos, diciendo: A otros salvó: sálvese a sí mismo, si éste es el Mesías, el escogido de Dios.
And the people stoode, and behelde: and the rulers mocked him with them, saying, He saued others: let him saue himselfe, if hee be that Christ, the Chosen of God.
36 Escarnecían de él también los soldados, llegándose, y presentándole vinagre,
The souldiers also mocked him, and came and offered him vineger,
37 Y diciendo: Si tú eres el Rey de los Judíos, sálvate a ti mismo.
And said, If thou be the King of the Iewes, saue thy selfe.
38 Y había también un título escrito sobre él con letras Griegas, y Latinas, y Hebráicas: ESTE ES EL REY DE LOS JUDÍOS.
And a superscription was also written ouer him, in Greeke letters, and in Latin, and in Hebrewe, THIS IS THAT KING OF THE JEWES.
39 Y uno de los malhechores que estaban colgados, le injuriaba, diciendo: Si tú eres el Cristo, sálvate a ti mismo, y a nosotros.
And one of the euill doers, which were hanged, railed on him, saying, If thou be that Christ, saue thy selfe and vs.
40 Y respondiendo el otro, le riñó, diciendo: ¿Ni aun tú temes a Dios, estando en la misma condenación?
But the other answered, and rebuked him, saying, Fearest thou not God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 Y nosotros a la verdad, justamente, porque recibimos lo que merecieron nuestros hechos; mas éste ningún mal hizo.
We are in deede righteously here: for we receiue things worthy of that we haue done: but this man hath done nothing amisse.
42 Y dijo a Jesús: Señor, acuérdate de mí cuando vinieres en tu reino.
And he sayd vnto Iesus, Lord, remember me, when thou commest into thy kingdome.
43 Entonces Jesús le dijo: De cierto te digo, que hoy estarás conmigo en el paraíso.
Then Iesus said vnto him, Verely I say vnto thee, to day shalt thou be with me in Paradise.
44 Y era como la hora de sexta, y fueron hechas tinieblas sobre toda la tierra hasta la hora de nona.
And it was about the sixt houre: and there was a darkenes ouer all the land, vntill the ninth houre.
45 Y el sol se oscureció, y el velo del templo se rompió por medio.
And the Sunne was darkened, and the vaile of the Temple rent through the middes.
46 Entonces Jesús, clamando a gran voz, dijo: Padre, en tus manos encomiendo mi espíritu. Y habiendo dicho esto, espiró.
And Iesus cryed with a loude voyce, and sayd, Father, into thine hands I commend my spirit. And when hee thus had sayd, hee gaue vp the ghost.
47 Y como el centurión vio lo que había acontecido, dio gloria a Dios, diciendo: Verdaderamente este hombre era justo.
Nowe when the Centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Of a suretie this man was iust.
48 Y toda la multitud de los que estaban presentes a este espectáculo, viendo lo que había acontecido, se volvían hiriendo sus pechos.
And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things, which were done, smote their brestes, and returned.
49 Mas todos sus conocidos estaban de lejos, y las mujeres que le habían seguido desde Galilea, mirando estas cosas.
And all his acquaintance stood a farre off, and the women that followed him from Galile, beholding these things.
50 Y, he aquí, un varón llamado José, el cual era senador, varón bueno, y justo:
And beholde, there was a man named Ioseph, which was a counseller, a good man and a iust.
51 El cual no había consentido en el consejo ni en los hechos de ellos, varón de Arimatea, ciudad de los Judíos: el cual también esperaba el reino de Dios.
Hee did not consent to the counsell and deede of them, which was of Arimathea, a citie of the Iewes: who also himselfe waited for the kingdome of God.
52 Este llegó a Pilato, y pidió el cuerpo de Jesús.
He went vnto Pilate, and asked the body of Iesus,
53 Y quitado de la cruz, le envolvió en una sábana, y le puso en un sepulcro que era labrado en roca, en el cual aun ninguno había sido puesto.
And tooke it downe, and wrapped it in a linnen cloth, and laide it in a tombe hewen out of a rocke, wherein was neuer man yet laide.
54 Y era día de la preparación de la pascua; y el sábado esclarecía.
And that day was the preparation, and the Sabbath drewe on.
55 Y viniendo también las mujeres que le habían seguido de Galilea, vieron el sepulcro, y como fue puesto su cuerpo.
And the women also that followed after, which came with him from Galile, behelde the sepulchre, and how his body was layd.
56 Y vueltas, aparejaron drogas aromáticas, y ungüentos; y reposaron el sábado, conforme al mandamiento.
And they returned and prepared odours, and ointments, and rested the Sabbath day according to the commandement.
