Job 36
1 Y pasando a delante Eliú, dijo:
Then continued Elihu, and said,
2 Espérame un poco, y enseñarte he: porque todavía hablo por Dios.
Wait for me a little, and I will instruct thee; for [I have] still some words on God's behalf.
3 Tomaré mi sabiduría de lejos, y daré la justicia a mi Hacedor.
I will lift up my knowledge for him who is afar, and for my Maker will I obtain righteousness.
4 Porque de cierto no son mentira mis palabras, antes se trata contigo con perfecta sabiduría.
For truly no falsehood is [in] my words: one that is upright in [his] opinions [dealeth now] with thee.
5 He aquí, que Dios es grande, y no aborrece, fuerte en virtud de corazón.
Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength of intellect.
6 No dará vida al impío; y a los afligidos dará su derecho.
He permitteth not the wicked to live; but he procureth justice for the afflicted.
7 No quitará sus ojos del justo: mas con los reyes los pondrá también en trono para siempre, y serán ensalzados.
He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous; but [he placeth them] with kings on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
8 Y si estuvieren presos en grillos, y cautivos en las cuerdas de aflicción,
And if they be bound in fetters, and if they be entangled in the cords of affliction:
9 El les anunciará la obra de ellos, y que sus rebeliones prevalecieron.
Then doth he tell them of their work, and of their transgressions, when they had become strong.
10 Y despierta el oído de ellos para castigo, y dice que se conviertan de la iniquidad.
And he openeth thus their ear to correction, and saith that they should return from wrong-doing.
11 Si oyeren, y sirvieren, acabarán sus días en bien, y sus años en deleites.
If they hearken and serve [him], they will spend their days in happiness, and their years in pleasures.
12 Mas si no oyeren, serán pasados a cuchillo: y perecerán sin sabiduría.
But if they hearken not, they will pass away through the sword, and they will perish in want of knowledge.
13 Mas los hipócritas de corazón le irritarán más; y no clamarán, cuando él los atare.
But the hypocrites in heart persevere in wrath; they will not offer entreaty when he bindeth them:
14 El alma de ellos morirá en su mocedad, y su vida entre los sodomíticos.
Their soul will die in youth, and their life, among the incestuous.
15 Al pobre librará de su pobreza, y en la aflicción despertará su oreja.
He delivereth the afflicted through his affliction, and openeth through oppression his ear.
16 Y aun te apartará de la boca de la angustia en anchura, debajo de la cual no haya estrechura, y te asentará mesa llena de grosura.
And also thee hath he incited away from the jaws of distress into a wide space, on the site of which there is no straitness; and what is set on thy table is full of fatness.
17 Mas tú has henchido el juicio del impío contra la justicia, y el juicio [que lo] sustenta todo.
But if thou art full of the judgment of the wicked: [divine] judgment and decree will support each other.
18 Por lo cual es de temer, que no te quite con herida, la cual no evites con gran rescate.
For there would be fury, If aught were to incite thee to utter an abundance [of rebellious words]; and the greatness of the infliction must not mislead thee.
19 ¿Estimará él tus riquezas, ni el oro, ni todas las fuerzas de poder?
Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold ore, nor all the highest forces of strength.
20 No desees la noche, en la cual él corta los pueblos de su lugar.
Desire then not eagerly the night, when nations pass away in their place.
21 Guárdate, no mires a la iniquidad, teniéndola por mejor que la pobreza.
Take heed, turn not thyself to wrong-doing, so that thou wouldst choose this because of [thy] affliction.
22 He aquí, que Dios será ensalzado con su poder, ¿quién semejante a él, enseñador?
Behold, God is exalted by his power: who is an instructer like him?
23 ¿Quién visitó sobre él su camino? ¿Y quién dijo: Iniquidad has hecho?
Who hath given him a charge concerning his way? or who hath ever said, Thou hast acted unjustly?
24 Acuérdate de engrandecer su obra, la cual contemplan los hombres.
Reflect, that thou shouldst magnify his work, which [other] men have beheld.
25 La cual vieron todos los hombres, y el hombre la ve de lejos.
All men have looked at it [with astonishment]; the mortal gazeth at it from afar.
26 He aquí que Dios es grande, y nosotros no le conoceremos: ni se puede rastrear el número de sus años.
Behold, God is great, and we comprehend him not, the number of his years can truly not be searched out.
27 Porque él detiene las goteras de las aguas, cuando la lluvia se derrama de su vapor.
For he taketh away drops of water, which are purified into rain in his mist:
28 Cuando gotean de las nubes, gotean sobre los hombres en abundancia.
These drop down out of the skies; they distil upon the multitude of men.
29 ¿Si entenderá también los extendimientos de las nubes, y los bramidos de su tabernáculo?
But [what man] can understand the outspreadings of the clouds? the tumult of his tabernacle?
30 He aquí, que él extendió sobre ella su luz; y cubrió las raíces de la mar.
Behold, he spreadeth out over it his light, and covereth up the roots of the sea.
31 Con ellas castiga a los pueblos, y da comida a la multitud.
For by means of them he judgeth nations, he giveth food in superfluity.
32 Con las nubes encubre la luz, y les manda que vayan contra ella.
[His] hands he covereth with light; and he commandeth it to strike the one who striveth against him.
33 La una da nuevas de la otra: la una adquiere ira contra la que viene.
The noise of his storm telleth of it, yea, the cattle also, of the rising tempest.
