Amós 3
1 Oíd esta palabra que ha hablado Jehová contra vosotros, hijos de Israel: contra toda la familia que hice subir de la tierra de Egipto. Dice así:
Hear this word which the Lord hath spoken concerning you, O children of Israel, concerning the whole family which I have brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
2 A vosotros solamente he conocido de todas las familias de la tierra, por tanto visitaré contra vosotros todas vuestras maldades.
Only you have I loved out of all the families of the earth: therefore will I visit upon you all your iniquities.
3 ¿Andarán dos juntos, si no estuvieren de concierto?
Will two walk together, except they had agreed [to do so]?
4 ¿Bramará en el monte el león, sin hacer presa? ¿el leoncillo dará su bramido desde su morada, si no prendiere?
Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion send forth his voice out of his den, unless he have caught something?
5 ¿Caerá el ave en el lazo de la tierra, sin haber armador? ¿Alzarse ha el lazo de la tierra, si no se ha prendido algo?
Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, when there is no gin for him? is ever a snare taken up from the ground, when it hath caught nothing at all?
6 ¿Tocarse ha la trompeta en la ciudad, y el pueblo no se alborotará? ¿Habrá algún mal en la ciudad, el cual Jehová no haya hecho?
Shall a cornet be blown in a city, and the people not become afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord have not done it?
7 Porque no hará nada el Señor Jehová, sin que revele su secreto a sus siervos los profetas.
For the Lord Eternal will do nothing, unless he have revealed his secret unto his servants the prophets.
8 Bramando el león, ¿quién no temerá? hablando el Señor Jehová, ¿quién no profetizará?
The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord Eternal hath spoken, who will not prophesy?
9 Hacéd pregonar sobre los palacios de Azoto, y sobre los palacios de tierra de Egipto, y decíd: Congregáos sobre los montes de Samaria, y ved muchas opresiones en medio de ella, y muchas violencias en medio de ella.
Publish at the palaces in Ashdod, and at the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great confusions in her midst, and the oppressions [that are] within her.
10 Y no saben hacer lo recto, dijo Jehová, atesorando rapiñas y despojos en sus palacios.
For they know not how to act rightly, saith the Lord, who treasure up violence and robbery in their palaces.
11 Por tanto el Señor Jehová dijo así: Enemigo vendrá que cercará la tierra; y derribará de ti tu fortaleza, y tus palacios serán saqueados.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, The adversary [is there] and surroundeth the land: and he shall bring down from thee thy strength, and thy palaces shall be plundered.
12 Así dijo Jehová: De la manera que el pastor escapa de la boca del león dos piernas, o la punta de una oreja, así escaparán los hijos de Israel, que moran en Samaria, al rincón de la cama, y al canto del lecho.
Thus hath said the Lord, As the shepherd snatcheth out of the mouth of the lion [at most] two leg-bones, or a tip of the ear: so shall be delivered the children of Israel that sit in Samaria on the corner of a bed, and on Damascus couches.
13 Oíd, y protestád en la casa de Jacob, dijo Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos:
Hear ye, and give warning in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord Eternal, the God of hosts.
14 Que el día que visitaré las rebeliones de Israel sobre él, visitaré también sobre los altares de Bet-el; y serán cortados los cuernos del altar, y caerán a tierra.
For on the day when I visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, will I also inflict punishment on the altars of Beth-el: and then shall be hewn off the horns of the altar, and they shall fall to the ground.
15 Y heriré la casa del invierno con la casa del verano, y las casas de marfil perecerán; y muchas casas serán taladas, dijo Jehová.
And I will smite the winter-house together with the summer-house: and the houses of ivory shall disappear, and the great houses shall be no more, saith the Lord.
