Josué 21

1 Los jefes de familia de los levitas se acercaron al sacerdote Eleazar, a Josué hijo de Nun y a los jefes de familia de las tribus de los hijos de Israel.

And the leaders of the families of Levi approached Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the rulers of the extended families of each of the tribes of the sons of Israel.

2 Les hablaron en Silo, en la tierra de Canaán, diciendo: “Yahvé ordenó por medio de Moisés que nos dieran ciudades para habitar, con sus tierras de pastoreo para nuestro ganado.”

And they spoke to them at Shiloh, in the land of Canaan, and they said, “The Lord instructed, by the hand of Moses, that cities should be given to us as habitations, with their suburbs to nourish our cattle.”

3 Los hijos de Israel dieron a los levitas, de su herencia, según el mandato de Yahvé, estas ciudades con sus tierras de pastoreo.

And so the sons of Israel gave cities and their suburbs from their possessions, in accord with the order of the Lord.

4 La suerte salió para las familias de los coatitas. Los hijos del sacerdote Aarón, que eran de los levitas, tuvieron trece ciudades por sorteo de la tribu de Judá, de la tribu de los simeonitas y de la tribu de Benjamín.

And the lot went out for the family of Kohath, of the sons of Aaron, the priest, from the tribes of Judah and Simeon and Benjamin: thirteen cities.

5 Los demás hijos de Coat tenían diez ciudades por sorteo de las familias de la tribu de Efraín, de la tribu de Dan y de la media tribu de Manasés.

And to the remainder of the sons of Kohath, that is, to the Levites who were left over, there went, from the tribes of Ephraim and Dan, and from the one half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.

6 Los hijos de Gersón tuvieron trece ciudades por sorteo de las familias de la tribu de Isacar, de la tribu de Aser, de la tribu de Neftalí y de la media tribu de Manasés en Basán.

And next the lot went out to the sons of Gershon, so that they would receive, from the tribes of Issachar and Asher and Naphtali, and from the one half tribe of Manasseh at Bashan: the number of thirteen cities.

7 Los hijos de Merari, según sus familias, tenían doce ciudades de la tribu de Rubén, de la tribu de Gad y de la tribu de Zabulón.

And to the sons of Merari, by their families, from the tribes of Reuben and Gad and Zebulun, there went twelve cities.

8 Los hijos de Israel dieron estas ciudades con sus tierras de pastoreo por sorteo a los levitas, como lo ordenó el Señor por medio de Moisés.

And so the sons of Israel gave cities and their suburbs to the Levites, just as the Lord instructed by the hand of Moses, distributing to each by lot.

9 Dieron de la tribu de los hijos de Judá, y de la tribu de los hijos de Simeón, estas ciudades que se mencionan por su nombre:

From the tribes of the sons of Judah and Simeon, Joshua gave cities, whose names are these:

10 y fueron para los hijos de Aarón, de las familias de los coatitas, que eran de los hijos de Leví; porque de ellos fue la primera suerte.

to the sons of Aaron, of the families of Kohath of the stock of Levi, (for the first lot went out for them, )

11 Les dieron Quiriat Arba, llamada así por el padre de Anac (también llamada Hebrón), en la región montañosa de Judá, con sus tierras de pastoreo alrededor.

the city of Arba, the father of Anak, which is called Hebron, on the mountain of Judah, and its surrounding suburbs.

12 Pero dieron los campos de la ciudad y sus aldeas a Caleb, hijo de Jefone, para su posesión.

Yet truly, the fields and its villages he had given to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, as a possession.

13 A los hijos del sacerdote Aarón les dieron Hebrón con sus tierras de pastoreo, la ciudad de refugio para el matador de hombres, Libna con sus tierras de pastoreo,

Therefore, he gave to the sons of Aaron the priest, Hebron as a city of refuge, as well as its suburbs, and Libnah, with its suburbs,

14 Jattir con sus tierras de pastoreo, Estemoa con sus tierras de pastoreo,

and Jattir, and Eshtemoa,

15 Holón con sus tierras de pastoreo, Debir con sus tierras de pastoreo,

and Holon, and Debir,

16 Ain con sus tierras de pastoreo, Jutá con sus tierras de pastoreo y Bet Semes con sus tierras de pastoreo: nueve ciudades de esas dos tribus.

and Ain, and Juttah, and Beth-shemesh, with their suburbs: nine cities from two tribes, just as has been said.

17 De la tribu de Benjamín, Gabaón con sus tierras de pastoreo, Geba con sus tierras de pastoreo,

Then, from the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, he gave Gibeon, and Geba,

18 Anatot con sus tierras de pastoreo y Almón con sus tierras de pastoreo: cuatro ciudades.

and Anathoth, and Almon, with their suburbs: four cities.

19 Todas las ciudades de los hijos de Aarón, los sacerdotes, eran trece ciudades con sus tierras de pastoreo.

All the cities together of the sons of Aaron, the priest, were thirteen, with their suburbs.

20 Las familias de los hijos de Coat, los levitas, el resto de los hijos de Coat, tuvieron las ciudades de su lote de la tribu de Efraín.

Yet truly, the remainder of the families of the sons of Kohath, of the stock of Levi, were given this possession:

21 Les dieron Siquem con sus tierras de pastoreo en la región montañosa de Efraín, la ciudad de refugio para el matador de hombres, y Gezer con sus tierras de pastoreo,

from the tribe of Ephraim, Shechem, one of the cities of refuge, with its suburbs, on mount Ephraim, and Gezer,

and Kibzaim, and Beth-horon, with their suburbs, four cities;

23 De la tribu de Dan, Elteke con sus tierras de pastoreo, Gibetón con sus tierras de pastoreo,

and from the tribe of Dan, Elteke and Gibbethon,

24 Ajalón con sus tierras de pastoreo, Gat Rimón con sus tierras de pastoreo: cuatro ciudades.

and Aijalon and Gath-Rimmon, with their suburbs, four cities;

25 De la media tribu de Manasés, Taanac con sus tierras de pastoreo y Gat Rimón con sus tierras de pastoreo: dos ciudades.

then, from the one half tribe of Manasseh, Taanach and Gath-Rimmon, with their suburbs, two cities.

26 Todas las ciudades de las familias del resto de los hijos de Coat fueron diez con sus tierras de pastoreo.

All the cities were ten, with their suburbs; these were given to the sons of Kohath, of the lesser degree.

27 Dieron a los hijos de Gersón, de las familias de los levitas, de la media tribu de Manasés, Golán en Basán con sus tierras de pastoreo, la ciudad de refugio para el matador de hombres, y Be Esterá con sus tierras de pastoreo: dos ciudades.

Likewise, to the sons of Gershon, of the stock of Levi, from the one half tribe of Manasseh, went Golan in Bashan, one of the cities of refuge, and Bosra, with their suburbs, two cities;

also, from the tribe of Issachar, Kishion, and Daberath,

29 Jarmut con sus tierras de pastoreo, En Gannim con sus tierras de pastoreo: cuatro ciudades.

and Jarmuth, and Engannim, with their suburbs, four cities;

30 De la tribu de Aser, Mishal con sus tierras de pastoreo, Abdón con sus tierras de pastoreo,

then, from the tribe of Asher, Mishal and Abdon,

31 Helkat con sus tierras de pastoreo, y Rehob con sus tierras de pastoreo: cuatro ciudades.

and Helkath and Rehob, with their suburbs, four cities;

32 De la tribu de Neftalí, Cedes en Galilea con sus tierras de pastoreo, la ciudad de refugio para el matador de hombres, Hamotdor con sus tierras de pastoreo y Kartán con sus tierras de pastoreo: tres ciudades.

likewise, from the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee, one of the cities of refuge, and Hammoth-Dor, and Kartan, with their suburbs, three cities.

33 Todas las ciudades de los gersonitas, según sus familias, eran trece ciudades con sus tierras de pastoreo.

All the cities of the families of Gershon were thirteen, with their suburbs.

34 A las familias de los hijos de Merari, el resto de los levitas, de la tribu de Zabulón, Jocneam con sus tierras de pastoreo, Kartah con sus tierras de pastoreo,

Then, to the sons of Merari, Levites of the lesser degree, by their families, were given, from the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam and Kartah,

35 Dimna con sus tierras de pastoreo y Nahalal con sus tierras de pastoreo: cuatro ciudades.

and Dimnah and Nahalal, four cities with their suburbs;

36 De la tribu de Rubén, Beser con sus tierras de pastoreo, Jahaz con sus tierras de pastoreo,

from the tribe of Reuben, beyond the Jordan, opposite Jericho, Bezer in the wilderness, one of the cities of refuge, Misor and Jazer, and Jethson and Mephaath, four cities with their suburbs;

37 Cedemot con sus tierras de pastoreo, y Mefat con sus tierras de pastoreo: cuatro ciudades.

from the tribe of Gad, Ramoth of Gilead, one of the cities of refuge, and Mahanaim and Heshbon and Jazer, four cities with their suburbs.

38 De la tribu de Gad, Ramot en Galaad con sus tierras de pastoreo, la ciudad de refugio para el matador de hombres, y Mahanaim con sus tierras de pastoreo,

39 Hesbón con sus tierras de pastoreo, Jazer con sus tierras de pastoreo: cuatro ciudades en total.

40 Todas estas fueron las ciudades de los hijos de Merari según sus familias, el resto de las familias de los levitas. Su suerte fue de doce ciudades.

All the cities of the sons of Merari, by their families and extended families, were twelve.

41 Todas las ciudades de los levitas entre las posesiones de los hijos de Israel eran cuarenta y ocho ciudades con sus tierras de pastoreo.

And so all the cities of the Levites, in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel, were forty-eight,

42 Cada una de estas ciudades incluía sus tierras de pastoreo alrededor de ellas. Así fue con todas estas ciudades.

with their suburbs, each distributed by families.

43 El Señor dio a Israel toda la tierra que había jurado dar a sus padres. La poseyeron y vivieron en ella.

And the Lord God gave to Israel all the land that he had sworn he would deliver to their fathers. And they possessed it, and they lived in it.

44 El Señor les dio descanso en todo el territorio, según lo que había jurado a sus padres. Ni un solo hombre de todos sus enemigos se presentó ante ellos. El Señor entregó a todos sus enemigos en sus manos.

And he gave them peace with all the surrounding nations. And none of their enemies dared to stand against them; instead, they were brought under their sovereignty.

45 No faltó nada de lo bueno que el Señor había dicho a la casa de Israel. Todo se cumplió.

Indeed, not so much as one word that he had promised to provide for them was left empty; instead, everything was fulfilled.
