< Rooma 13 >
1 Naf waluba ha ka dambayso kuwa amarka sare leh, waayo, amar ma jiro kan Ilaah ka yimaada mooyaane. Kuwa jirana Ilaah baa ka dhigay kuwa amar leh.
Everyone should obey government authorities, because no one has the power to rule unless God gives permission. These authorities have been put there by God.
2 Sidaas daraaddeed kii diida kan amarka leh wuxuu hor joogsadaa amarka Ilaah, kuwa hor joogsadaana waxay nafahaantooda u heli doonaan xukun.
Whoever resists the authorities opposes what God has put in place, and those who do so shall find themselves judged accordingly.
3 Madaxdu cabsi ma geliyaan kuwa shuqul wanaagsan sameeya, kuwa xumaan sameeya mooyaane. Ma waxaad doonaysaa inaadan ka cabsan kan amarka leh? Wax wanaagsan samee, oo ammaan baad ka helaysaa isla isaga.
For rulers don't frighten those who do right, but those who do wrong. If you don't want to live in fear of the authorities, then do what is right, and you'll have their approval.
4 Waayo, isagu wuxuu xaggaaga ku yahay midiidinka Ilaah inuu wanaag kuu sameeyo. Laakiinse haddaad xumaan samaysid, cabso, waayo, isagu seefta uma sito sababla'aan. Maxaa yeelay, isagu waa midiidinka Ilaah, oo waa mid cadho kaga aarsada kii xumaan sameeya.
Those in power are God's servants, put there for your own good. If you do wrong, you should be frightened—it's not without reason that authorities have the power to punish! They are God's servants, punishing offenders.
5 Sidaas daraaddeed waa in laga dambeeyo kan amarka leh, mana aha cadhada aawadeed oo keliya, laakiinse waa niyadda aawadeedna.
So it's important to do as you're told, not just because of the threat of punishment, but because of what your conscience tells you.
6 Waayo, sababtaas aawadeed waxaad u bixisaan cashuur, maxaa yeelay, iyagu waa midiidinnadii Ilaah oo had iyo goor ka shaqeeya isla waxaas.
That's why you have to pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants taking care of such things.
7 Mid waluba wuxuu idinku leeyahay siiya, kii baad idinku leh, baad siiya, kii cashuur idinku leh, cashuur siiya, kii laga cabsadana, ka cabsada, kii ciso lehna, ciseeya.
Pay whatever you owe: taxes to the tax authorities, fees to the fee-collectors; give respect to those who should be respected, honor those who should be honored.
8 Ninna yuusan wax idinku lahaan in midkiinba midka kale jeclaado mooyaane. Waayo, kii deriskiisa jeclaadaa sharciguu oofiyey.
Don't owe anybody anything, except love for one another—for those who love their neighbor have kept the law.
9 Waayo, amarradan la yidhi, Waa inaanad sinaysan, Waa inaanad qudh gooyn, Waa inaanad waxba xadin, Waa inaanad wax damcin, oo haddii amar kale jirana, waxaa lagu soo koobay hadalkan, Waa inaad deriskaaga u jeclaataa sida naftaada.
“You must not commit adultery, you must not kill, you must not steal, you must not jealously want things for yourself”—these and the other commandments are summed up in the statement, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
10 Jacaylku xumaan kuma sameeyo deriskiisa; jacaylku haddaba waa oofinta sharciga.
Love doesn't do wrong to anyone, so love fulfils the law.
11 Oo weliba waad garanaysaan wakhtiga inay haatan tahay saacaddii aad hurdada ka toosi lahaydeen, waayo, haatan ay badbaadintu inooga dhow dahay markii horoo aan rumaysannay.
You should do this because you realize how urgent the time is—that it's high time for you to wake up from your sleep. For salvation is closer to us now than when we first put our trust in God.
12 Habeenkii hore buu u batay, maalintiina waa soo dhowaatay, sidaas daraaddeed aan iska dhigno shuqullada gudcurka oo aan qaadanno hubka iftiinka.
The night is nearly over, the day is almost here! So let's get rid of our dark deeds and put on the armor of light.
13 Sida iyadoo maalin ah aynu si qumman u soconno, yeynan ku socon rabshad iyo sakhraannimo, yeynan ku socon galmo iyo dhillanimo, yeynan ku socon ilaaq iyo hinaaso.
Let's behave properly, showing that we're people who are living in the light. We shouldn't spend our time going to wild parties and getting drunk, or having affairs and acting immorally, or getting into fights and being jealous.
14 Laakiin Rabbi Ciise Masiix huwada, oo jidhka ha ka fikirina inaad damacyadiisa samaysaan.
Instead put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and forget about following your sinful desires.
