< Maahmaahyadii 5 >
1 Wiilkaygiiyow, xigmaddayda dhegayso, Oo waxgarashadaydana dhegta u dhig;
My son, attend to my wisdom. And bow thine ear to my understanding;
2 Si aad digtoonaan u dhawrtid, Oo ay bushimahaaguna aqoon u xejiyaan.
That thou mayest keep discretion, And that thy lips may preserve knowledge!
3 Waayo, naagta qalaad bushimaheedu waxay daadiyaan malab, Oo afkeeduna saliid buu ka sii macaan yahay,
Truly, the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And her mouth is smoother than oil;
4 Laakiinse aakhirkeedu wuxuu u qadhaadh yahay sida geed dacareed oo kale, Wuuna af badan yahay sida seef laba af leh.
But her end is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a two-edged sword.
5 Cagaheedu dhimashay ku dhaadhacaan, Oo tallaabooyinkeeduna waxay u jeedaan xagga She'ool, (Sheol )
Her feet go down to death; Her steps lay hold of the under-world. (Sheol )
6 Waddada nolosha iyadu aad uguma fiirsato. Jidadkeedu waa leexleexdaan, oo garan kari maysid,
That she may not ponder the way of life, Her paths waver when she heedeth it not.
7 Haddaba sidaas daraaddeed, wiilashoy, bal i maqla, Oo erayada afkayga ha ka tegina.
Hear me now, therefore, O children! And turn not away from the words of my mouth!
8 Jidkaaga ka fogee iyada, Oo albaabka gurigeeda ha u dhowaan,
Remove thy way far from her. And come not nigh the door of her house:
9 Si aanad sharaftaada kuwa kale u siin, Oo aanad sannadahaaga kuwa caloosha adag u siin,
Lest thou give thy bloom to others, And thy years to a cruel one;
10 Si aan shisheeyayaal maalkaaga uga dhergin; Oo aanay wixii aad u hawshootay guri ajnabi u gelin,
Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth, And thine earnings be in the house of an alien;
11 Si aanad ugu dambaysta u barooran, Markay hilibkaaga iyo jidhkaaguba baabba'aan,
And lest thou mourn in thy latter end. When thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
12 Oo aad tidhaahdaan, Sidee baan edbin u nebcaaday, Oo qalbigayguna canaantii u quudhsaday!
And say, “How have I hated instruction! And how hath my heart despised reproof!
13 Codkii macallimiintaydii ma aan addeecin, Oo dhegtana uma aan dhigin kuwii wax i baray!
I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor inclined mine ear to my instructors;
14 Anigu waxaan u dhowaa inaan shar kasta falo Anigoo ku dhex jira shirka iyo ururka.
I have well-nigh fallen into utter misery; In the midst of the congregation and the assembly.”
15 Berkeddaada biyo ka cab, Oo ceelkaagana biyo qulqulaya ka cab.
Drink water out of thine own cistern. And running water out of thine own well:
16 Ma hagaag baa in ilahaagu dibadda u daataan. Oo ay durdurraduna dariiqyada maraan?
So shall thy fountains overflow in the streets, In the wide streets, as streams of water;
17 Iyagu ha ahaadeen kuwaaga oo keliya, Oo yaanay u ahaan shisheeyayaal adiga kula jira.
They shall belong to thee alone, And not to strangers with thee;
18 Ishaadu ha barakaysnaato, Oo naagtaadii aad yaraanta ku guursatay ku faraxsanow.
And thy fountain shall be blessed, Yea, thou shalt have joy in the wife of thy youth.
19 Iyadu ha kuu ahaato sida deerada jacaylka badan iyo sida cawsha quruxsan, Goor walbana naasaheedu ha ku deeqeen Oo had iyo goorna jacaylkeeda ku faraxsanow.
A lovely hind, a graceful doe, Her breasts shall satisfy thee at all times, And thou shalt be always ravished with her love.
20 Haddaba wiilkaygiiyow, bal maxaad naag qalaad ugu faraxsanaanaysaa, Maxaadse naag shisheeye ah naasaheeda u qabsanaysaa?
Why, then, my son, wilt thou be ravished with a wanton, And embrace the bosom of a stranger?
21 Waayo, jidadka dadku waxay hor yaalliin indhaha Rabbiga Oo isagaa fiiriya waddooyinkiisa oo dhan.
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, And he weigheth well all his paths.
22 Kan sharka leh waxaa qabsan doonta xumaantiisa, Oo waxaa isaga lagu soo xidhi doonaa xadhkaha dembigiisa.
His own iniquities shall ensnare the wicked; Yea, he shall be held fast by the cords of his own sins.
23 Wuxuu u dhiman doonaa edbinla'aanta, Oo isagu wuxuu ku dhex amban doonaa badnaanta nacasnimadiisa.
He shall die for want of instruction; Yea, through the greatness of his folly he shall stagger.
