< Nexemyaah 1 >
1 Kanu waa hadalkii Nexemyaah oo ahaa ina Xakalyaah. Hadda intaan joogay Shuushan oo ah hoygii boqorka, sannaddii labaatanaad bisheedii Kislee'u,
Words of Nehemiah son of Hachaliah. And it comes to pass, in the month of Chisleu, the twentieth year, and I have been in Shushan the palace,
2 waxaa yimid Xanaanii oo walaalahayga midkood ahaa, isaga iyo niman kale oo dalka Yahuudah ka yimid; oo markaasaan weyddiiyey wax ku saabsan Yuhuuddii baxsatay, oo maxaabiistii ka hadhay, iyo wax ku saabsan Yeruusaalem.
and Hanani, one of my brothers, he and men of Judah come in, and I ask them concerning the Jews, the escaped part that have been left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem;
3 Oo iyana waxay igu yidhaahdeen, Kuwii maxaabiista ka hadhay oo gobolkii jira waxay ku jiraan dhibaato weyn iyo ceeb; oo derbigii Yeruusaalemna waa la dumiyey, oo irdaheediina dab baa lagu gubay.
and they say to me, “Those left, who have been left of the captivity there in the province, [are] in great evil, and in reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.”
4 Oo markaan erayadaas maqlay ayaan meel fadhiistay oo ooyay, oo intii ayaamo ah ayaan baroortay; waanan soomay, oo waxaan ku tukaday Ilaaha samada hortiisa,
And it comes to pass, at my hearing these words, I have sat down, and I weep and mourn [for] days, and I am fasting and praying before the God of the heavens.
5 oo idhi, Rabbiyow, Ilaaha samadow, Ilaaha weyn oo laga cabsadow, oo axdiga xajiya, oo u naxariista kuwa isaga jecel oo amarradiisa xajiyow, waan ku baryayaaye,
And I say, “Ah, now, O YHWH, God of the heavens, God, the great and the fearful, keeping the covenant and kindness for those loving Him, and for those keeping His commands,
6 Dhegahaagu ha maqleen, indhahaagana fur, inaad maqashid baryadayda anoo addoonkaaga ah. Wakhtigan habeen iyo maalinba waxaan kuu baryayaa reer binu Israa'iil oo addoommadaada ah, anigoo qiraya dembiyadii aan aniga iyo reer binu Israa'iil kugu dembaabnay; haah, aniga iyo reerka aabbahayba waannu dembaabnay.
please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, to listen to the prayer of Your servant, that I am praying before You today, by day and by night, concerning the sons of Israel, Your servants, and confessing concerning the sins of the sons of Israel, that we have sinned against You; indeed, I and the house of my father have sinned;
7 Oo si aad u xun ayaannu kula macaamiloonnay, oo ma aannan xajin amarradii, iyo qaynuunnadii, iyo xukummadii aad ku amartay addoonkaagii Muuse ahaa.
we have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commands, and the statutes, and the judgments, that You commanded Your servant Moses.
8 Waan ku baryayaaye, bal xusuuso eraygii aad ku amartay addoonkaagii Muuse ahaa, oo aad ku tidhi, Haddaad xadgudubtaan, waxaan idinku kala dhex firdhin doonaa dadyowga,
Please remember the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, You trespass—I scatter you among peoples;
9 laakiinse haddaad ii soo noqotaan oo aad amarradayda xajisaan oo aad yeeshaan, in kastoo kuwiinna la tuuray ay joogaan meesha samada ugu fog, halkaasaan ka soo ururin doonaa, oo waxaan keeni doonaa meeshii aan u doortay inaan ka dhigo in magacaygu joogo.
and you have turned back to Me, and kept My commands, and done them—if your outcast is in the end of the heavens, there I gather them, and have brought them to the place that I have chosen to cause My Name to dwell there.
10 Haddaba kuwanu waa addoommadaada iyo dadkaaga aad ku soo furtay xooggaagii iyo gacantaadii xoogga badnayd.
And they [are] Your servants, and Your people, whom You have ransomed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand.
11 Sayidow, waan ku baryayaaye, hadda dhegahaagu ha maqleen baryadayda anoo addoonkaaga ah, iyo baryada addoommadaada ku farxa inay ka cabsadaan magacaaga; waan ku baryayaaye, maanta i guulee, anoo addoonkaaga ah, oo ka dhig inaan ninkan hortiisa naxariis ka helo. (Anigu waxaan ahaa koobsidaha boqorka.)
Ah, now, O Lord, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants, those delighting to fear Your Name; and please give prosperity to Your servant today, and give him for mercies before this man”; and I have been butler to the king.
